Following is the list of gear used in this video to cook and prepare the BTL. I carry this gear all the time and it's solid. 1.) Firebox Nano Stove (Titanium) 2.) Trangia Alcohol Stove (Denatured Alcohol) 3.) Pathfinder SS Plate, Mug and Canteen 4.) UCO Mess Kit 5.) Full Windsor Splitter (Titanium) 6.) MSR Pot Grabber Thanks for watching!
Good to hear from you 2112. I like making the cooking videos. I will be making some more. Thanks for hanging in with my channel and providing feedback. I appreciate you!
I like the backcountry sites at Oak Mountain. They have a regular camp grounds for tents and RVs, but I've never camped there. I wish they had more backcountry sites. I like the hiking and views along the trails. I get some fishing in at the lake with a pocket fisherman I carry around in my backpack. It's all fun. Thanks for watching.
John! Where you been man? Hope alls well in your corner of the globe. Really good to see ya again! I was afraid you got tired of chasin the algorithm snd stopped utube. Great vid on the nano. I love the nano for using a trangia with! Its perfect for that. I find burning wood in it to be a little too finicky for me so I levitate towards my emberlit for wood burning. Great to see you again sir! NQU
Me again! Haven't seen anything new lately. Hope all is ok. Just thought I'd let you know how much I enjoy and appreciate your videos. Always well produced and enjoyable. Take care! MWW.
Good to hear from you Mike. All is well here. I've been so busy. I have one video ready to go, and I'm working on a second. I'm trying to get some videos in the queue and get ahead to prevent the long wait time. Thanks for hanging with me. I really appreciate it!
I recently bought a Firebox HA skillet and the buzzy wax product to go with it. I seasoned it per instructions on the Firebox site and MAN, this skillet is awesome. I like it so much that I have been cooking on it everyday at home too! Not sure if you can used the buzzy wax to season a stainless steel skillet or not, but it worked on my home cast iron skillet and on my titanium skillet as well...made them smooth as marble. I still use some cooking spray before frying an egg, but there is virtually no clean-up...just wipe it out with a paper towel and it is clean.
I love a good BLT! Nice to see a new video from you John. Hope you have been doing well. I have the Firebox Nano stove and and Trangia alcohol burner and love them both. I haven't seen the UCO mess kit, so I will have to look it up and give it a try. Are you attending the ESEE bushcrafting class in a couple of weeks. People like you and I that live in the Birmingham area are blessed to be so close to such a resourceful facility.
Everyone should have a Firebox Nano; it's so versatile and in a small package. The UCO mess kit is good for packing perishable items like eggs, buns and such. It's plastic, but I like it. I currently don't have plans to addend the class, but it sounds fun. I like Oak Mountain and take advantage of it being so close. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it! Have fun at the class.
Hoo boy, that looks good! The only thing missing is some Dukes mayo up against the tomato. Funny this video came out just after I fried up a bunch of extra bacon for the BLT I'm going to make for lunch. But my bacon is home made - honey bourbon and maple syrup cured, then smoked with cherry wood. I like your kit - reminds me a lot of mine. Some Firebox, some Pathfinder, and some Walmart/Ozark Trail, some Gerber, MSR and GSI. Take what works best for you, not what some brand loyalist says you should use.
Man, your bacon sounds good! I've been using this gear for a while and like it. It's not the lightest kit, but it works and gets the job done for me. The gear is solid and can take some abuse.
Love your videos John. I just ordered a Firebox stainless steel Nano. Can’t wait to try cooking with different types of fuels. Are you using a stainless or a Ti Nano?
I have the titanium Nano. You will have fun with it. It's fantastic! You can order all the add-ons that make it shine like the solid fuel plate, alcohol stove and grill plate. The add-on I want next is the gas burner. I have the most fun though when using sticks. Happy cooking and thanks for watching!

Fantastic post, John. I love my nano stove. 👍
The Nano rules! It's always in my pack. Thanks for watching.
Know what I'm cooking for dinner tonight! Gotta add avocado though 🤠
I'll have to try that the next time I fire up a BLT. It was good. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
I'm glad you liked the video. It was fun making.

Camped at Oak Mountain for the first time last Saturday and Sunday. Nice place.

I've been tempted to get one of those Firebox pans. They look fantastic. Thanks for the info! I appreciate the comment.

I was thinking about the Dukes...mine would have had a tablespoon at least, lol!
