Rest in Peace Frankie, we miss you.
That was a beautiful Thanksgiving! We all miss Frankie so much, and you gave him a wonderful life! Happy Thanksgiving
Frankie and the Boss! My how we loved Frankie, and the Boss, Lori, and now Tildy! Happy Holidays you two!! And Tildy!
Best song I've ever heard :-))
Thanks for the beautiful film sequences showing Franky and Tildy playing in the snow. Franky was such a special kind of a sweet and clever dog who is still missed a lot. Well Boss, it's the truth, life can change in a second. It‘s such a blessing there are people like you and Mrs. Lori talking about life and how making the best about it. Big hugs for Tildy and God bless☘️💫🍀
Thank you kindly and many blessings to you and yours.
Frankie had more personality than 90% of the humans who have lived, so did my dog, Wolfrum.
Frankie will live forever in our heart and thoughts.
Absolutely beautiful meal!!
Thank you :-)
I loved the video of Frankie helping you build a fire in the stove ,getting the wood and matches !!!!
Thank you for the sweet memories of Frankie! He made a spot in my heart for you and your family.
RIP Frankie. You were a righteous Dude!
I THINK EVERYONE MISSES FRANKIE HE is still wiyh you, he is still by your side.
Yes Frankie is so missed. He was one special being. A beautiful soul. ❤❤❤❤
And yes we miss Franky so much he was a one of a kind !!
We all miss Franky…. Great dog …. Glad he had good pets to take such loving care of him!
We Miss Frankie on every single video too😢😭❤️🙏
God Bless Y'all 🙏 ❤️
Miss that pup
I LOVE Lori's shirt, "Not all who wander are lost" 🙂
Frankie RIP 😪💔
A feast for a king and his queen! Looked really good Boss. Little experiences like you seeing the bear is really all I go hunting for. I couldn’t care less if I ever shoot a deer. Our freezer and pantry are full so I don’t need the meat anyway. I’ve seen deer doing pretty much everything a deer would do in the rut except fight. Maybe, hopefully I will get to see it. I’ve heard them fight but not the same as fixing my eyes on it. Have a good one Boss. Amazing how fast a year can go around.
I've heard 2 bull moose battling it ot one time but they weren't in sight of my stand. What a racket they made :-o
It's been 8 yrs since my black lab "bubba" had his last day. He was a very smart man like Frankie. Thanks for sharing your antics with frankie
JC, you hit the jackpot when you met Lori. Truth be told, I think you were both blessed to find one another.
I have to admit, that footage of Frankie had me tearing up a bit myself. He was quite the character.
After a long road of my own, I'm only about 6(ish) months away from achieving my offgrid dreams myself. It's amazing just how hard it is to get away from the "normal" life once you're living it. It's designed to suck you in, and keep you there.....prisoner. My early parole for good behavior is finally almost here :)
Take care JC, and give Lori and Tildy all my best. God bless
So very true about the normal life. That lifetime of conditioning is hard to break away from. Best of luck with your journey.
The green bean casserole looks like it to non-boss man. I’ve been watching you for years and I think everybody misses Frankie be safe wishing you guys the best from Ohio.
I hadn’t watched in awhile, and I couldn’t help but notice as I got caught up that Frankie wasn’t present. Oh man. I’m tearful to hear about his last playtime. I know how much you loved him, and how bonded you two were. He had such a wonderful life. My condolences.
Thank you. We lost him on Thanksgiving of 22 and he's dearly missed.
That meal sure looked delicious! I hope the three of you have many more blessings coming!
It sure looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast! Loved the bear story! I can feel in my heart how you feel and miss Frankie. 4 months ago I had to put my Lab to sleep because of renal failure. Like Frankie was to you, Lincoln was my constant companion and my goofy buddy! We hiked thousands of miles together and had many camping adventures. There are days when he walks across my heart and it hurts, just as I know Frankie does with you. Like you, I am so very thankful for the 13 years we had together. Bless them!
The more you love - the more it hurts. Very sorry for your loss.
RIP Frankie the wonder dog with his lunch box of treats.
But first we give thanks. Well said.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Lori. Being thankful is what people need these days! Hard to believe Frankie has been gone a year, loved is personality. Have a great week or two ahead and take care!
Ken
What a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. Ole Frankie was definately one of a kind. Thanks so much guys
Glad you enjoyed it -)
My Mama was raised without electricity or running water in their home. My grandmother prepared their meals on a wood burning stove and you are correct there really is something special those wonderful meals. Spring water to drink and rainwater for cleanup.
They did this up to 1982.
I went off grid in 1984 (although I had never heard of "off grid" at the time) and have lived this way for most of my adult life. The novelty never wears off :-)
I can really appreciate your decision.
Just want you know my husband and I enjoy watching your videos. We been watching for a long time. We were/ are lovers of your buddy, Frankie. You guys made a great partnership!
Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas is just at the bend.
Merry Christmas from our Tennessee neck of the woods!
What a lovely visit BossMan. Great to see you and Lori and Tildy again. Your Thanksgiving feast looked delicious. And what a lovely tribute to Frankie. He certainly brought tons of smiles to many. What a blessing you shared him with all of us. Have a great week and God bless.
Frankie was such a Gem. When I think of him with his Batbox, it makes me laugh and cry at the same time. He is greatly missed :c)~
thank you for sharing your dream with us. shine on!
That looked like a very delicious meal! Abraham Lincoln said he who cuts his own wood, warms himself twice! Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video.
I think that quote comes from Ben Franklin.
Our pleasure!
We lost our chihuahua thor on thnxgiving day. He was only 3 and here 1 minute gone the next. The day will never be the same after watching him die on our bed. He was the best dog we ever had.
Very sorry for your loss.
@@thebossoftheswamp thank you.
Still miss seeing Frankie. I lost my female doberman 18 months ago and I was looking to adopt another dog, but it did not happen here in PA. So will go through the winter months and look again in spring. Getting ready for winter and hunkering down during the colder months. Always a blessing to see you both and the doggie. Your feast looked absolutely wonderful. Take care and God bless and stay warm and safe. ❤
Good luck with your doggie search.
You're a luck fella to have 2 kitchen queens in your life Boss!! Great job Lori!! Dinner looked Awesome!
I miss Frankie so much. He was quite a character! I'm thankful you have so much film of him. ❤
he was a gem! thanks for sharing with us
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This video is a keeper! I'm downloading it to my phone for safekeeping! I watched it while at our local Eagles, and everyone oohed and awed at Lori's turkey. And especially that she didn't need to turn it during baking. Of course, I then explained the revolutionary design of the KQ...
Speaking of which, THANK YOU for a special revolving around the KQ!! I was in "hog heaven" while watching all of it! More than ever I will have a 480 in my home next year. And you're right: "The novelty NEVER wears off!" When your fire, from your own property, heats your home, cooks your meals, bakes your bread, it never wears off! This video is the essence of off-grid homestead living!!
Thank you again for all the inspiration that you and Lori gave us over the years, because next year I will finally join you. And I'm eager to begin the adventure!
Lori's feast was a masterpiece. The only things I might change would be the stuffing, to use home-made cornbread, but that's just me. And I'm inspired to figure out how to can Cream of Mushroom soup, if only to make a green-bean casserole. Give my compliments to the chef!!
And thank you for mentioning Frankie. I know how sad it was, this being the first year since his passing. But someday you will see him again, and he'll meet you with a toy in his mouth, waiting for you to throw it for him!
Thanks again for the AWESOME video!! And someday, I will join you in the adventure!!!
Amen 😇 Amen 😇😇😇🕊
Thank you my friend. I appreciate your very kind words ;-))
I’m sitting here drooling thinking about that green bean casserole. Thanks Boss.
I miss Frankie so much. Y'all gave him such a good life. Lori, your green bean casserole looks delicious. I'd love to try it. Very Thankful to you both for sharing your life with me and others. We love you. Merry Christmas and God bless.
great video Boss and Laurie. I love watching the Frankie videos over the years, especially the christmas videos. I love the wood fire stove with the gas stove beside it as a backup. If I can get a camp ill have the same set up.
What a delightful video, thank you. The footage of Frankie brought a tear but was very appreciated, what a wonderful companion.
Awww so good to see the video of Frankie!! He was a great dog! Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving with us!
I think of Frankie often, I lost my Border at the same age as Frankie, they are a special breed, smart and they steal your heart for sure.

The kitchen queen is beautiful!!!! And the oven is wonderful too. Thankful I had my time with Frankie.

Awww Boss I'm so glad the bear didn't steal your backpack, I'm glad your meal turned out so beautifully, and I can't believe it's been a year since Frankie's been gone. I admit to shedding a few tears. However, there's much to be grateful for isn't there? Yes there is. Lots of love.
Lots to be grateful for indeed -))
Always a pleasure to see you Boss. The “Silver haired Goddess” is always an extra treat.

I'm glad that you had a good Thanksgiving, dinner sure looked great! R.I.P. Frankie
It sure doesn't seem like that many years ago that you moved up there. The years are moving so fast these days. I love your channel it provides so many memories for me, some of them from years ago and making new one thru your adventures. I miss Frankie to, my wife and I have shelties and over the years are dear ones have made the journey to the covered bridge. You sure set down to a great meal and made me hungry, it's supper time here so I won't wait very long before I set down for my meal. Glad that bear didn't take your goodies and backpack. Well, I will close this and get to the table its time to sit and eat a bite. Thanks for the video today it made my day.

Thank you again boss for contributing another marvelous off grid life experience to add to the previous two decades worth♥️♥️♥️.
A very belated Happy Thanksgiving, Boss. I hope this communication finds you well and in good spirits. I lost track of your stories for quite a while. So nice to have found your site again. So sorry to hear about Frankie. It's always so hard when we lose a close family member, and our canine companions definitely are part of the family. Our little girl, Pixie the Wonderbeagle is getting older now, and we're not looking forward to the day she crosses the Rainbow Bridge. So glad I discovered your page again. Best wishes to you and take care!
Thank you Jeff and welcome back. Make Pixie's last years her best years. Spoil her rotten and you'll have no regrets. All the best :-)
She gets a treat every time she comes in from going out to do her business. We feed her at 5 p,m, and she has an uncanny knack of knowing exactly when 5 p.m. is. She sits next to her dish and stares at us, just boring holes right through us. If we don't respond, she barks at us. She's picky about her treats-we give her one of those rawhide chew sticks about once a day. We call them Go Sadie Go sticks. She runs all over the living room with them wanting my wife to chase her. She lets Cathy take it off her two times (not three) and then she's had enough-it's time to eat!@@thebossoftheswamp
Very good. A ( true) rich family. What a joyful reunion it will be to see Frankie again. Peace.
7 years already....man o man. Time fly's when we are having fun! I really do like that place. Happy Belated Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you both as well! Frankie had me crying with joy because he was so loved!!
Great video Boss, many smiles and tears. See you soon.😎
Oh, how blessed we are to have the blessing from our Lord. Thank you God for another holiday. And may we never take the blessings of your love upon us and the love of our ladies for granted. To you we give the thanks and praise.
You are blessed, surely you are boss.
God bless you and your angel
Tennessee Hillbilly, out.
I really miss Thanksgiving. Haven't had a Thanksgiving meal in 18 years except the one a few days before my dad died in 2015. I'm always at work every holiday and live alone. I think the last time I had a Xmas tree was at least 15 years ago. I don't really miss Xmas as much as I do Thanksgiving. I love butternut And blue Hubbard squash and every single thing about Thanksgiving. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberries..all of it.
Missing Thanksgiving would be hard for me. I don't think I could do it.
Thanks for the update boss! Glad y’all are well! Happy late thanksgiving
I miss Franke! too! The Thanksgiving meal looked delicious!
Boss, Your Thanksgiving Meal looked outstanding! You Guys made my day! God Bless you both!
Thank you and God Bless.
Awwww, we do miss ol' Frankie boy. He was a charmer. Cozy Thanksgiving. I'll have to get that green bean casserole copied down for my sis-in-law. That's one of her favorite holiday dishes.
Glad you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving
My wife made Lorrie's green bean casserole and it was delicious
Happy to hear that :-)
Franky he was a handsome, special ol' fella ❤
Fill our Hearts to the brim but leave a hole just as big when they go...
That's the Cost of Unconditional Love.
Thanks for sharing JC and Lori. Dinner looked awesome :)
Thank you again for another great video young fella !
Such a wonderful video, JC! I'm jealous of Lori's wonderful home cooked meal, as my Thanksgiving was a blowout, due to a bad car accident. In fact, still in bed nursing my injuries, mainly a fractured ankle.
We all miss Frankie so much! 😢 That awesome little guy will always hold a special place in my heart. 🐶💕 Looking forward to your next video, as they always ease my depression & gives me hope for the future. Godspeed, my friend.
"~Billy Greenville" 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Wish I had one of those... kitchen Queen. Love and strength to ya Boss.
