It baffles me that people unfollow you because 'they' think you're moving south. What is that? May I offer up a word of self induced wisdom. Say sorry for nothing. I enjoy following you both and if that means watching you settle on the face of the moon, I'm in! Keep living your best life. God bless you both.

    • @noyopacific
      @noyopacific 9 місяців тому +1

Bless your heart Bobby; saying "sorry" is merely the recognition of a possible error. The inability or unwillingness to acknowledge one's mistakes is not an act of wisdom, it is an indication of weakness and having a lack of regard for others.

You are correct Boss. Most people live a work a day life and lay their head down in the same place every night. They just don't envision any other way of life. Live life to the fullest on ya"lls terms. Those that want to mosie on down the road, let them. Others will come along and find value in what you share. Cool Peevee too. Love the older hand tools, they are the best. You did a great job on the handle replacement. We have a lot of old hand tools and cherish them as we break them out when needed for use. I am the same way with kitchen stuff. They just don't make things like they use to.

4:59 I literally Laughed Out Loud when you said you wanted to got somewhere where it was 70-60 degrees in winter. Only place around here might be Miami area. We have a cabin in Tennessee near your designated VA/NC/TN area it’s definitely quite chilly freezing weather in the winter we just probably get less snow than you are used to.
As for the new channel. That just dilutes your viewers, potential income and views. Just keep it on this channel as its own How To series. Just my two cents.

My son Thomas has eat a few chains and I had to tell him several times how to avoid dulling the chain. The best way for me to teach him was to make him sharpen the chains!!! So he learned fast. I do not have a PEEVEE but maybe we should get some. I typically cut twice as much wood as I have seen you cutting because we burn wood year round here to cook and for our hot water and because it gets so cool here in the summer that in the evenings we need a little heat. So Thomas was laughing about you telling him Don't do that!. Maybe we could blacksmith a peevee. Jim in Chile.

    Hi again BOSS
Able to say hi again yay!
Another beautifully cut and stacked wood pile caught my eye once again. Kinda silly but always through the years that made me smile as mine was good but not quite ever that good lol! You still can fix almost anything which I know how you do enjoy figuring out the how to. Why I do believe your new channel idea would be so fun for you and such a great help for others. That brain of yours has learned and fixed problems over your whole lifetime right along side of your many life experiences. Really hope you go for it!
However as it's been through the years take the kind meaning
comments under consideration but ignore those snarkey
mean spirited ones! Thats all junk you don't need to be in your thoughts at all.
Happy you and Lori have many life options to consider and time prayer and your choices will clear your way onto your next adventure. I know for sure
you'll be happy and have great peace no matter...
Always have wondered how sweet Tilly has been for you growing up. Did she have a hard time missing Frankie? She too must be pretty cool cause Frankie surely taught her all kinds of things and you training her with all your gifts was the perfect combo that she's turned out just fine.
Your good health continues on and is such a miracle. Never to forget that whole time but I surely was so relieved and thankful to move you way way down on my prayer list!! Keep on keepin on living life to the fullest under your own terms and be thankful and happy everyday my friend. I will continue as always taggin along and saying hi when i can. Just know if I do pass on I will so look forward to finally meeting you on the other side along with others like you that added much to my life from afar along with other family friends and of course our beloved dogs.
You Lori and Tilly take good care. God bless

Greetings from PEI. No confusion here, you stated what was going on all along, alas I turn 60 next Saturday and I'm a better listener. You do you, always enjoyed the journey regardless of the zig or the zag. My wood pile is huge, after Hurricane Fiona last year, to the day, I've been in accumulation mode. I would say by November 11th, a steady burn. We have a stellar week of weather coming up and I did your cucumber trellis in my greenhouse and it was massive. I grew Beit Alpha, a middle eastern type, thin skinned, no peeling necessary. I made a flank steak stir fry with 'Globo Onions' and peppers, the Globo's are huge, all the best and welcome to Fall!!

To give your mind and sprit repose. I haven’t missed an intent of a single word you shared in your videos. I am also clear minded enough to realize you; just like any other human, are aware of: the best “laid plans o’mice ‘an man,” can go awry. I realize you and the lovely Ms. are actual people and not TV characters doing a sitcom. Since I too am a deep lover of the North woods, and lived both in the North country and South I emailed you back then when you mention the “South” and gave you the true dirt. Most of what I gave was intentionally negative, but I wanted you to have a true feel for your best decision. We all can think of the positive easily, and be blind-sided by the no-see ‘em negatives. Never have I ever misunderstood your intent to “snow-bird” or even relocate. I have always understood your mind-set of living in the real world (our very fast peace world) of here and now. Moving forward in life (a life of uncertainty): is like feeling out your next foot placement while stalking a deer… you can’t take back that snapping twig once stepped on. People seem to project their own need for regular stability of a world they wish to live-in, ( your projected video world) but may not. Yet, they most certainly exist in the real world and should understand today’s world of ever changing things at a warp speed. Funny, that they tolerate our super fast crazy changing world we all find ourselves in and yet piss-n-moan when one guy has a step by step careful feel things out decision making process shared on You Tube? I can only image they think you are a character on a tv show and not a fellow American? I can only conclude they haven’t woke up from “WOKE?”
I too had cheap fast grown tree - wide grain wood handles of today break. I too, made steel pipe handles. Word of caution: I did this with a rake and it worked nice, but I being of said old body by # of years on earth; yet fit all life, like you (they say we are old?) I raked my arse (working hard is my exercise and muse) off one Fall and paid with some shoulder pain for awhile. Still the heavy handle has a niche!
Couldn’t agree more with a must have peavey! Not a fan of some of the newer concepts. Love my tools. As for your channel. You are you, the channel name change means little to me. If we were daily in person friends and you wanted to rename yourself to “Formally known as?” I’d call you whatever the hell I wanted! People are (in my mind, and I know my mind and I think yours may not be like the masses) dynamic and a Jack-Of-All-Survival-Needs. That said, you keep doing your thing and the channel name is a formality and matters little. Chang it or not … who cares? You are going to be dynamic, and you should be because you’re not six feet under. Even though this is like a one sided friendship (you don’t know me, but I may know you better) I enjoy seeing you and your lovely lady do life.

So JC we have talked back and forth over the years I have gained many skills from you through out the years and my life has gone from cabin in the New Hampshire woods to a colonial on the Connecticut shoreline and a cabin in the Catskills, lol, been a whirl wind, because of you I keep accomplishing dreams and moving to the next life is what you make of it and I choose to keep accomplishing my dreams. I recently retired from the coast guard and became a career fireman something I always wanted to be. It is great and I love everyday.
The reason I’m sending this message the wife and I just watched this video and I turned to her and said wow it really feels like we have lived a life with you and she looked at me and said yea because we have been watching his videos since we got married 12 years ago lol. Just thought that was funny. Hope all is well and keep moving forward that’s for all the great videos!

Hello J.C. and Lori! I have always thought that you live your lives from a sense of adventure, and made plans that allow you to do as you wish to do....and I have always viewed them with an interest! That is why I have subscribed and liked your channel all of these years! To me, the main focus that I feel you bring out is a balance of living with Nature, and utilizing those elements in an effort of harmony, and conservation. Truth be told, I was thinking that both you and Lori were getting a bit of the "Travel Bug", and maybe planning to do some RV/Camping adventures to leave the snow belt behind for a bit, and were going to start a new path on your channel...leading to more adventures! (Maybe that is still a thought?) To put it simply, I think you both are good folks, and people who I would like to meet up with one day to share both campfires, and stories! Until that day comes, we both just continue to chat through the cyberspaces, and I'll continue to watch your channel(s) as you make them! All the Best to you both! God Bless! ~Lou

Truth be told Lou, the future is a blank canvas that we throw paint at in a random fashion these days. Today, I'm puttering on garage while Lori is hiking with her friend in the Adirondacks. When she returns we'll go to the NY cabin for a few days, then go pull up the garden at the camp and... take it from there. Life is good my friend.

That was a good repair!👍👍I also make use of what is lying around, for instance, I needed a dibber for planting potatoes etc., so I made it from a broken spade handle and I often find useful stuff when I'm beach combing.

First of all, not sure how anyone misconstrued what you had said about going south. As a Miami guy I always think of going north so your comments then, resonated with me.
On the Peavey "Cant" hook we just called it a cant hook. My dad passed away in March and the cant hook was all that was left from the days when my old man built a portable Frick sawmill in our back yard in suburban Miami in the 70's. While getting his place squared away in May I had to move a fallen tree and the cant hook came in handy. It's something I'll hold on to and maybe take to western NC when I go up in Oct to cool off. Thanks for your stories.

Been thinking about selling our place and moving further into the hills of Kentucky. Maybe somewhere near the TN, VA line. Maybe around Harlan.
Also, I don't understand people being "difficult" concerning your videos. Makes no sense. Keep doing what you are doing. We miss Frankie.

Well, the northeast part of Tennessee is really nice. That’s where I happen to have a house that and I have one in Florida so it’s different you know but I had relatives that lived up here so it is easy for adapting … I think sometimes folks just get the wrong different saying out of you know when I say I’m gonna go back down south for a little while I go for a little while and I come back and I might want to work at here sometimes I do that.. so it’s nice to be up here in eastern jersey in the fall like I’m watching the guy across the street over there on his land getting a ready for this fall … just an old cabin in a small town… anyway I was going to come in about Your Way, of stackin your cords of cut wood 🪵 I like the way you do that? Do you have such pride in the way you do things I followed you off and on with your videos throughout the years I like the way you do things some people can’t see that I guess they don’t understand how people talk. I have a southern accent and people can’t understand me sometimes even when I’m trying to do or use voice text right here on UA-cam it does the same thing it misunderstands me sometimes and I have to re-correct it.
