“gods” not being capitalized in the text is golden.
Yeah I agree, so it shows how the false gods are under the True God.
Don’t think the original languages had caps
@@kamarwashington It was totally originally in all caps and done in sharpie!
Thats just basic capitalization
@@charliedontsurf334the psalms were written in hebrew-which had no lower nor uppercase letters-don’t think the Bible was originally written in english.
"Psalm 52 is a diss-track against evildoers." Love it
Psalms is an amazing book. You can always find those who are relatable to the situations we're feeling. Whether it is doubt, fear, confidence, repentance, joy, anger, it's all there.
But for me Psalm 23 as the first I truly meditated on will always be the most special and beautiful
Try singing the Psalms morning and evening with Paul Rose. I've been singing and praying the Psalms daily for 7 years using the Divine Office App. I just discovered singing the Psalms with Paul Rose (Sing the Hours) on UA-cam; he sings them beautifully in English and Latin. You will love this if you like Gregorian chant.
Also, I pray the same psalms month after month, but depending on how God is speaking to you, the same psalms will move you differently. Sometimes I'm weeping as I pray the Psalms and sometimes I tell God I'm just here but staying faithful to my morning hour of prayer with Him.
Psalms 23 is my word for the whole year of 2023. Like literally life took a great L on me; I lost a job, my firend betrayed me, and I was broken several times. But His goodness and mercy remained.
You should listen to this guy on UA-cam singing Psalms 22 -- One of Jesus last 7 words on the Cross. . It will bring tears to your eyes. He is teaching how to sing the Psalms and sings Ps 22. We really needed something like this and thanks for the message at the end "We need to write the Psalms in our hearts". God bless y'all

I actually looked into psalm 22, and it's actually one of the prophecies Jesus fuffiled. Yk how Jesus spoke hebrew/aramaic, and one of his last phrases on the cross is eli, eli lama sabatchani, meaning my God, my God why have you forsaken me. In Jesus time they didn't have verse numbers or chapters so to reffrer to a verse you said the first verse of that chapter, it happened to be that psalm 22vs1, that verse is also eli, eli, lama sabatchani. Psalm 22 also talks about a man being despised, so it would make sense for Jesus to reference this verse bc it is about him. (no hate I just thought that was interesting)

Psalm 22 is also a great prophecy about the crucifixion of Jesus, it might be my favorite psalm. I'm curious whether anyone else has a "favorite" one and why it is their favorite.
Psalm 1, makes me remember that my roots are close to water, therefore I must bare fruit all year around ❤
Psalm 1, 22 and probably 73 are my favourites, I agree with you
I love and memorized Ps 63 and Ps 24. I've been praying and singing the poetic vision of the psalms for 7 years on the Divine Office app. I love Psalm 22 also. It is a "U shaped psalm" in that it goes down in the pit so to speak and then as you keep reading Psalm 22, it goes up telling of the hope we have in God. Some people believe Jesus was telling the people at the Cross, it was not despair because among despair is the hope and strength we have in the Cross. So it was cited to show them hope and the Jews song the psalms so they likely finished his words in a praise of hope. You should listen to this guy on UA-cam singing Psalms 22. It will bring tears to your eyes. He is teaching how to sing the Psalms and sings Ps 22. He starts singing it in the third minute of the video (minute 3:25) ua-cam.com/video/uXojNtlo7x8/v-deo.html
yeah but that wasn't the original intent of the author, people only realize that after Jesus told the disciples that after the resurrection
the original meaning hasn't changed
psalm 143 is special for me, if you want i can elaborate (I'm writing this as I'm getting drowsy)
I've been failing terribly and ignoring God lately. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in bringing me closer to God and made me feel genuinely happy for the first time in about a month, thank you. (They also activated my love for nerdy theology again lol)

I have often struggled to get through the book of Psalms, but I think that's because I've tried to read them all in sequence rather than learn them one at a time. I will try out the site you recommended at the end to help learn some to music.

Hello brother. Good job on this video and well done with your ministry. You have been using your channel well to glorify and honor God our Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well and to minister to and educate the saints. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for sharing these. And thank you for sharing the link of the sung psalms. It's truly a blessing and the memes were funny. Yah bless you.
Fun fact. There's also more Psalms that many don't know about. Psalms 151 is in the Orthodox church however *about* every other branch snd sect of Christianity does not. There are more psalms that they dont accept either. (Orthodox church) Psalms 152 to 155 are additional Psalms found in two Syriac biblical manuscripts to date and several manuscripts of Elijah of Anbar "Book of Discipline", first identified by the orientalist librarian Giuseppe Simone Assemani in 1759. Together with Psalm 151 they are also called the Five Apocryphal Psalms of David or the "Five Syriac Psalms". Interesting right?
They’re “psalms”, yes, but aren’t canonical.
