Look at my helmet color. Cool 😎
Got this as my first sample of Magnacut, have been enjoying quite a bit so far. They are getting them made and sent out pretty quickly, the DOB on mine was 3/7/22.
I got one coming in the mail tomorrow, cant wait!
Ordered mine yesterday, can't wait!
Excellent review!!
- Godspeed
I like it... A clean simple design
I just got the Bexar in the mail and love it. I'll need to pick up a Rockwell at some point as well. The thumbstud would be my choice. 100% agreed about the T8 screws. Companies need to get onboard with that. Also, you're so right about their marketing. I've never seen any Tactile Co. marketing that felt "cringy"...unlike certain other companies we all know. lol
I love the look and feel of the knife. Mine was *not* thin behind the edge, which was disappointing. I like to lay my edges back to 15 dps and with the Rockwall, that resulted in a pretty fat bevel, which isn't a great look on such a small blade.
This knife is perfect for my fifth pocket. Always carry two knives. One big boy like my xm-24 and not to scare my office peeps, out comes the rockwall
Everytime i strip down my Sage 5 always appreciate T8 throughout
What a neat little knife! I'm definitely eyeing their pens after seeing them in person at Blade Show Texas.
I just ordered a Petrified Fish Beluga because of your review! Thanks MC!
I have like 4 of there pens. Right now they only offer the magnacut for the knife? I don’t see any other metals on their site. Wonder when they will be back.
Thanks for your videos! Love everything you put out there
Larrin Thomas has a whole video addressing the heat treat controversy. Basically comes down to geometry affects edge retention more than hardness and more toughness allows for thinner, steeper angled edges
Received mine yesterday. Really like the knife. Cut out for the thumb stud does need to be slightly deeper. Otherwise, great knife.
So. Should I get a CRK or a Tactile. I like both.
I had to grind down the detent ball a bit to get a good deployment on mine.
Trying to choose between this and the quiet carry waypoint
Always thought you were nit-picking when you complain about t6 until I stripped one on my AD20.5 while I was changing scales last night, now I feel your pain!
Yep it’s an absolute nightmare
, great review!! I ordered it and wanted to love it for my meaty/fat fingers, but the liner lock was not to my liking and the thumb studs were too sharp and course for my finger tips. I love the design, materials, and friendly EDC size.
Unfortunately, as someone who plays the guitar, it was just too uncomfortable for long term use. I had issues figuring out the deployment as it was consistently more uncomfortable flicking it open right-handed as opposed to left-handed.
Unlike the flipper, I was disappointed that the liner lock was hard to use to close the knife. There was no cut out for liner lock access like there is with the flipper version.
Tactile Knife Company we’re amazing as mine had some milling defects on the scales, so they took it back immediately and were great to work with.
I’m waiting on version 2 where I hope they cutaway on the inside of the scales near the liner lock for easier access and they remove the sharp edges on the swirled milling around the thumb stud.
I love the flipper and just wish the ceramic bearings were caged. But I love their knives and design. It’s a great knife and the geometry will likely be perfect for many.
Nice slick design
It would be perfect for me with a button lock and 64HRC Magnacut!
Thats a perfect knife for the office
I love this knife, I snagged one in magnacut a couple months back or so. It really is one of my more favorite small knives now. I dont know if it will replace my small sebenza yet, but it is pretty close.
Picked up monkey edge blue ano version today.
I think that would be my perfect pocket knife. Sadly, I live in Turkey, so I'll never see one, or be able to afford it if I ever found one.
Thank you for this review, keep them coming! I just noticed a local shop got these in and I was undecided 😅
A perfect entry level gentleman's knife
No way. I own 2 pens and 2 pencils from Tactile Turn and never knew they also made knifes. I love how their writing utensils feel and operate, especially the bolt action pens/pencils so got me wanting one of these now. Lol. one of these days I'll be able to keep a little if my paychecks. Lmao
Can we get a lefty rockwall plz
So much money. I think I need to start making knives. Like printing money. How much can it cost to make? I wish you would do a video on that.
That is one gorgeous beautifully understated piece of art. It's way out of my price range however. Does anyone have a more budget oriented suggestion that looks similar to this beauty?
Not titanium but the CJRB Ria is a nice little understated knife. :)
I have been on the hunt for something that looks roughly like this and I think the closest thing I've found is the Kizer Begleiter Mini from earlier this year with titanium frag patterned scales. Not really a budget knife, and they seem to be all sold out at the moment, but one to consider if they ever reissue it or release something similar
I highly agree with your T6 comments to manufacturers. Listen to your customers! Thank-you.
Thanks for sharing.. However "STAINLESS" steel is all you need!! I need this knife in my life
New camera angle? Looks more straight on.
I agree 100% t6 is too small for the amount of torque on them. If your knife if good and tight to where it needs to be a t6 will strip even without any lock tight. T6 is for computer hard drives and such t8 should be minimal and preferably t10
i feel like at 61 this would be very hard to distiguish from s35vn at 59 to 60
yo dawg, i heard you like steel lockbars so I put steel lockbars in the lock arm so you have steel on steel on steel contact
At the end, you made it seemed like you could recommend this knife in other steels but not magnacut because they don't have it at 62 hrc. Is that what you meant, or did I misinterpret that? Cuz this is probably gonna be my next knife and I intend it as my primary user. Just trying to do my research
Please keep us posted, we are on the same boat!
6:44 LOL, have to agree
Wiha is quality made German tools.
Or atleast they were when I sold them out of my warehouse.
Significantly more expensive then just about ANYTHING you can get at home depot.
But considering you show off knives that most people wouldn't consider buying. They are probably reasonable ;)
I agree. I detest T6
I buy one from DLt you recommended and after three weeks waiting got a note from Canadian border service agency (CBSA)that the knife is centrifugal knife and prohibited 🚫 don’t know how to return it because they asking the only way to sent it back is by custom bonded carrier witch is hard to find 💔with hard working money I don’t know what to do 🔓
That is extremely unfortunate. Unfortunately being on the other side of any border often means you'll be dealing with complications. I hope it gets worked out.
Heck yeah
i really do like this knife it is truly refreshing in a world of flippers🦉
🐧
I've found my xhp version has developed some wiggle in the thumbstuds, is anyone else having that issue? I'm thinking it's time to send it back for a look from the good people at Tactile.
Hey, The thumbstuds are threaded. Using needle nose pliers and some tape you should be able to tighten it back snug. 🤙🏼
@@tactileknifeco3831 I'll do that when I get home from work, thanks!! Every interaction I have with this company leaves me glad I did ✌🏻
I like my steel framelock knives with steel lockbar inserts. Steel on steel......on steel baby! Hehe
I also hate lanyard holes personally but I think they're an important accessibility feature (for people in wheelchairs, for example) so I think the best thing they can be is invisible, not absent
I’m a bit underwhelmed with mine; the T8’s were already stripped, the pivot ball bearings were very gritty and the clip looks and feels so cheap. I contacted the consumer service and they did send me some new T8’s, but there is still one screw I can’t remove because it’s so heavily stripped!
For the same (expensive) price I rather prefer and recommend the Quiet Carry Drift, also American made if this is of any importance… but not for me. I just want quality for the bucks and it just wasn’t there😕
Do you mean the Quiet Carry Waypoint? I don't think they're actually made in US, just based in US. I would have requested a full replacement knife, or was that not an option?
@@erikkuchen No I mean the Drift, it's not so popular as the Waypoint. I don't know exactly where they are made but it is an American company, but again it's not that important for me. It didn't came to my mind to ask for a replacement, I'm from Belgium and the import taxes are very high, the screws only were already $27!
@@geertcornelissens9266 Wow those are some crazy taxes. It's really odd and unfortunate you got stripped screws. I don't think I've ever received a new knife with stripped screws, and they're already T8!
@@geertcornelissens9266 All quiet carry knives are made in China.
I've never heard of anyone ever having anything close to what you described.
I own a few of their pens and when I dropped my bronze pen and crushed the tip (the pen wouldn't deploy) I contacted them, filled out the return, shipped it to them, they received the pen, fixed the pen, and had it back in the mail same day.
I met the guys at tactile turn at blade show this year. Had a long conversation with them.
Based on all this I think you are 100% lying about your experience.
@@SuperSteelSteve Thanks for your response, but calling me a liar is a bit harsh. I wouldn't even know what I could gain with lying about this!
Maybe it's because I'm from Belgium that they couldn't (or wouldn't) do the extra effort.
I'm a huge supporter of Neeves knives and like him I like to be 100% sincere about my reviews! If you still wouldn't believe me I'm willing to send you the pictures of the knife.
There is a saying: 'The exception confirms the rule!'
And accept it as it is.
I have one coming in on saturday....... I hate you lmao!!!! Just kidding! But I will say I had a protech malibu and to me this seems like a better malibu. Plus I'm more of a thumb stud guy. I like that you can get this knife in a flipper. I may get one in a flipper with 20cv. That way I scratch that malibu edge that I am kinda missing.
👏👏👏
Love the design but it’s to small for what I enjoy .
Dear Knife manufacturers- T8 or larger please. T6 strips out far to easily. Thank you.
Dumb question here: Tactile and Tactile Turn, are they like the same company?
Heck yeah
@@TheAwesomenessist Hey other Ian
@@HeyItsCoates Hey other Ian
Hey other.. wait
Oh never mind who cares😂😂😂 bro I love you😂😂😂
You just cost me another $300. At least I had enough KC points to knock off $50.
Noice.
Ordered mine yesterday and it’s all your fault lol…
Just out interest, why do you measure blade thickness in thou ? I have a mechanical engineering background and we design to tolerances of say +/- single digit thou all the time, but most people aren't going to have a firm grasp of what 95 thou is, but will if you say it's 3/32nds...
I would say it’s because calipers don’t measure in fractional inches.
Correct. Performing this measurement will be met with nothing but frustration.
They are very nice knives. Just not $300 worth.
T6's would look better...
Just to be honest.
Brown Knives want to be for half the price...not close imo rather than waste 300 bucks on this you can get a mint cond Cortex v2 or Lhc x ...
Eh...ok?
Any knife with a liner lock should not be trusted in a fight lol
I may be wrong, but I don't think this knife was intended to be used in a fight lol
@@aggiee8653 whoops i misread the tittle as tactical lmao not tactile, my bad haha
the blade must be studied, until then you had best stick to your inferior firearms
Just 500 more subs and we are 90K!
