Mine is currently back with Tactile for warranty work because while I was doing the testing on mine the lock failed from just thumb pressure on the spine and almost cut the shit out of me so I sent it in. I also have a flipper Rockwall in XHP but I haven’t had any problems with it’s lock slipping or failing so hopefully it’s not a common problem. Well if I had cut the shit out of myself during my video at least it would have been good content lol definitely glad I didn’t. Well I hope your having a great day talk to you later.
I think the pocket clip is really good. Especially in a country where edc a knife isn't really socially acceptable. Discreet and short. Holding the knife in place. And a not typically pocket knife style of a clip, so it's not screaming "I'm wearing a pocket knife"
I like my Rockwall but it has had to be sent back for warranty 3 times already. I think they have good design, Great skill at precision milling but really lack in QC.
I cut a plastic hanger with one of my folders yesterday (budget steel.) You've of been proud. I use (& care for) all of my knives. I just don't have much to use them for. But I do use them all (or would if I appreciated some of them enough to pocket them. Gotta get rid of some 😅)
I’m surprised that passed their QC.. my blade in magnacut came in screaming sharp. I’ve been beating the shit out of it. It’s only at 61 HRC, but the edge hasn’t needed much besides a quick strop. That sucks though, because the Rockwall is a sick knife!
That’s interesting…the only magnacut I have is on a couple Spyderco mules and they’re not particularly burry knives…you can feel when you’ve turned your edge but it’s not that wiry, k390 style burr. I think they’re also softer than 61 which only deepens the mystery. What do you do to 61 magnacut at the factory to achieve that result…it brings overheated edges into the question, too.
I received the Knife Center Rockwall as a Christmas present. You are spot on regarding the factory edge. A knife that cost over $300 should have a better edge. I did re-sharpen with my WorkSharp system and all is good. Thanks for videos. Greta job! Subscribed
Hahahha, I gotta laugh at the clip thing. Idk why but it seems like youre right, its like some knife companies make these cool products but then get to the clip and just say "eh, we've done enough throw a standard clip with no thought put into it on there".
The only Tactile knife that has caught my attention is the Archer. Just picked one up, it is really nice! Not to mention... it is an absolute laser beam... Would be curious your opinion!
NIce Ruffwear "T"......Cody V. just got his new ensemble today! SHARPEN THE KNIFE! I prefer to put my own edge on......always 15 degrees. Currently taco dip......no Cheetos. lol
Currently having edge problems on my maganacut Bexar. It won’t cut worth shit. And this is a REPLACEMENT for a 20cv version I had issues with from their warranty department 😐
I have heard bad things about Tactile’s QC, and that has scared me away from them. Feels like they sent nice samples to reviewers, then skipped QC all together for everyone else.
For the record I was not eating Cheetos while watching your video I was drinking a beer. No I will not put that down lol. That para 3 looks sweet, I’m not usually into coated blades but that setup is pretty badass.
Yeah they do need to grow and improve their QC process. To be expected as a brand new company. my Bexar blade was hitting the rear stand off and they warrantied the knife replacing the entire thing and the new one I got was great. I also got the Rockwall with the golf ball pattern and that one came sharp with no issues. I know you'll put an edge on it but they would benefit from the feedback about what happened and about the flip. Mine actually ended up bending up from going in and out the pocket so I'm going to DM them on IG in hopes they can improve. Looking forward to more on this one though. Enjoy the rest of your day off
My rockwall (magnacut) also came with a fairly poor edge. On top of that, due to the low "height" of the blade, even though the stock is fairly thin, it is quite thick behind the edge and the primary bevel angle was quite high considering (I seem to remember something like 22dps). After sharpening, I brought it down to about 20dps and it does OK, but the geometry of this knife just isn't great. Bringing the angle down further would have really brought the bevel up the side of the blade and I didn't want to go there. Otherwise, it's a lovely knife (I'm not nearly as down on it as I'm sounding).
Same observation here, except I like a 15° edge angle, which looks RIDICULOUS on the Rockwall's thick bte blade. As far as the clip goes, I actually like it. It works well and I think it looks nice. The thumb studs, OTOH, absolutely suck. They're too short, sharp, and access to them is too restricted. Recipe for pain.
@@BladeLabMiami hah, I don’t mind the clip or stud, but the liner lock is a pita! Closing this thing is not easy! I just kind of shove my thumb in and hope. Gigity!

It is possible to do but to normalize the steel and redo the whole process to a steel that was already heat treated isn't worth it at all for cost and time. And you gotta be very good at that sort of thing to be successful because it's not easy to do.
@@chriswebb3018 thanks Chris...8 figured it would definitely take knowledge of the steel and sure while 60/61 is not the best RC for magnacut it should still perform at the lower numbers...and I am not a heavy user by no means just an enjoyed of all things knaf related....👊🔪👌🇺🇸
