Hi Austin, this is Maz. Thank you so much for meeting me and helping me making the right decision. It was fun shopping watches with. I hope to do it again in the future.
Maz, thank you for sharing your experience. would Austin have bought the watch for you if you had not gone to Japan in person (assuming you do not live in Japan)? Did you encounter any extra fees like customs or duties when you returned to your home country?
Great video! We don't have production numbers for the GMTs (yet), but with every bezel color option Rolex releases each year, like the GRNR recently, there are fewer GMTs produced of each color because the line shares the same case and movement, a fact Rolex didn't deny when I asked them during an interview earlier this year. So the Pepsi is getting rarer!
Super clone GMT movements have the jumping local 24 hour hand too, but the real tell when setting those is how smooth it "clicks" versus genuine movements. The clone ratchet part isn't built as robustly as the gen and are prone to breaking if used too often.
I bought a birth year Rolex for my son when he was born (full set fully stickered). It is in a safe (the watch... not my son) and we will give it to him when he is an adult for an accomplishment.
@@Kogemate trust me on this but your son would rather you invest the money in the S&P500 index and give him the money when he's an adult. I know of no one who would rather not have the money. That money in 20 year would be in the 6 figures. He can buy all the Rolex he wants at that point if he even wants one.

What a coincidence! When I think my favorite style of jeans are going to be discontinued I buy like mad and put them away in my closet. Ok ok I’m guilty….. I’ve done the same with t-shirts and some sweaters. Never thought about doing that with watches….. what a greaaaat idea 🙄😏🙄😏🙄😏🙄😏🙄
With many modern Rolex watches that are discontinued, the price increase is a temporary phenomenon. Once discontinued, the price will go up since the demand will increase, but over weeks and months it will settle lower as more owners want to cash in, which in essence increases supply and prices begin to decrease.
Come on Austin, tell us the story of the BLNR. Bought in the USA and you waited a long time to receive it. How does it feel, beats the 16710? Come on Austin, We have waited years for the story.
No, I do not think they will discontinue the Pepsi. If they discontinued any GMT2, it would be the Batman. Of course, I think that would be stupid. Discontinuing any watch that is on fire and impossible to get makes no sense to me. But hey, I try to think with logic and we all know the watch market is without any and all logic. 🤣
Hi Austin, love your videos, passion and knowledge abt watches so much. I’m gonna visit Japan in 2 weeks, searching for myself a Rolex DateJust 126331 Chocolate /w box and papers. Any tips?
Thank you for the donation! I would use Rakuten to narrow down candidates, and then physically go and check them out. Rakuten is a site where brick-and-mortar shops list their goods. In then search bar type "Rolex 126331", and see what's available. It's all in Japanese, but you can translate it into English, and get the gist of the listings. Not all pieces get listed on Rakuten, but it'll ensure that you'll be able to find at least several examples of just what you're looking for. Good luck!
Austin, I understand that the US dollar exchange rate for Yen is very favorable for Americans. Have you found this to hold true for buyers, or do the Japanese pre-owned dealers just raise the price in Yen higher to cover the exchange rate? Also, if we contact you and send payment in advance, will you buy a watch for us, or only if we come to Japan to buy a watch in person?
They seem to have raised their prices a little to offset the weakened Yen. I wouldn't want to get in the middle of a transaction, as I'd be responsible if the watch didn't arrive. Also, since I live here I don't get the 10% tax discount for tourists.
What was his OTD price? I can't imagine it could have been that great. Could he have done better in, say, NYC Diamond District? Will he declare the watch upon landing in the states or is he gonna play customs evader? Anyway, hope it works out for him in the end after all the hoops he's jumped through. 🤑 BTW, I waited less than a year to get my steel Sky Dweller w/mint green dial from my local Rolex boutique. That's a W in my opinion.
THIS GUY MADE A GREAT MOVE I WOULD DO THE SAME THING NUMBER 2 THE WATCH IS CHEAPER IN JAPAN EANY WAY GMT FANTASTIC ROLEX WATCH YOU ALWAYS DO A AWESOME JOB THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
$23.600 is more than I'm willing to pay for a steel Rolex, but if you really want one, that is the only option I guess. And Japan is one of the safest country to purchase a second hand one. Let's be real, he probably would never get a Pepsi, with just a Seadweller spending history. The AD will not just hand over free 10K to anyone.
No way in this world will Rolex discontinue the Pepsi. It may change, like it has, but it will never be discontinued. You are crazy to think it will be. 😂
Did I hear that correctly the guy just wants the Pepsi just to say he owns one? If true that’s a little suspicious since there are a lot of collectors who want one and would actually wear it. But at the end of the day it’s his money. I still see it as an opportunity to flip though.
So-o-o-o tired of hearing about the Rolex Pepsi. How many times can the participants in this video say "Pepsi" in seven minutes? Couldn't watch the entire thing, but I do enjoy your other content.
If you aren't doing a side by side with a known authentic watch, and not opening the case to check the movement. Then you don't know if it is genuine or a clone. Period.
There really is something special about those anodized aluminum bezel inserts: the colors, the texture, the way the light hits them, the way they age. You could spend your life collecting them, and it would not be a wasted life." ua-cam.com/video/6HjBQ-A7vnw/v-deo.html

The current BLRO looks like a coke in certain lights, hence why they won't have the Pepsi and coke out that the same time.
