      Yeah... His arguments are very circular. Obviously this had to be faked, since I didn't kill him, so clearly the only possible explanation is that it was faked. It's the ever-classic defense "I'm innocent, which proves that I'm innocent and could only have been framed by assassin realtors conniving with the police. After all, how could incriminating evidence have ended up in my house unless I was framed? How could my DNA be reported as being under the victim's fingernails unless i was framed? How could a car that looks just like mine have been used unless I was framed? Q.E.D."

But of course the only evidence for his not ever wearing Nikes around workmates is his own statement, the defense didn't ask any of his other coworkers (some testified) to confirm. And, of course, that identification is pretty much irrelevant given the other evidence, and was far from the only tip they got that the guy in the hat might be Robert Telles, so...
