The instant pot is the greatest invention ever. 45 minutes for oxtails that normally take 3 hours wow. These oxtails falls right off the bones. Delicious.

Grew up eating oxtail, ribs, ham hocks. Back in the day these were considered the throw away meats. Now i can barely afford them lol. Great recipe. Mom would make it into stew.. american version.

While visiting Jamaica we’d found this amazing man on the side of the road selling jerk chicken, Ox Tail, plantains, rice and beans...etc. The jerk chicken and Ox tail were cooking in a hole in the ground covered with banana leaves and hot coals. Easily the best food I’ve ever had in my 38 years of life. And it was cooked in a hole in the ground. He also sold ganja and asked me if he could buy my shoes with chicken lol. I left with sandals because I couldn’t pass up the offer! 😂

I remember when my mom would send me to the neighborhood butcher for a large package of bone for soup. I watched her prepare the bones to make soup or stew. Oxtails or soup mix. Years later I used to make spaghetti sauce using oxtails. My friends would beg me to make more so they could enjoy my gravy. Then I couldn’t find oxtails at my butcher. No one else wanted them. I’d find them at Dominick’s because women older than me, would make gravy using oxtails. Then I couldn’t find them. Then they were discovered by another generation and what I’d get for nothing, they were charging $8.00 A pound. Amazing. They are fabulous when you find you perfect recipe. I still make gravy or stew. It cost more than a porterhouse but it’s much more delicious. Thank you Jeffrey. The price will triple now because of you. I love you anyway. Xxxxx

So I substituted pickled jalapenos and Chipotle pepper powder. I also added in a can of can of chopped tomatoes and and parsley And extra garlic. It turned out delicious, delicious. I'm amazed

Just imagine the most wonderful beef stew times 10. I've been pressure cooking for over 30 years, and switch to the instant pot 2 1/2 years ago. I use my instant pot weekly and have tried several of Jeff's recipes with great success. Thank you for your You Tube channel, I enjoy it greatly. Wishing you much success with your cookbook.

pro tip: put the habanero in the pot *whole* and pull it out when it's done cooking. not many people enjoy chomping on a piece of pepper. I like bottled habanero sauce. pro pro tip: you can grow special heatless habaneros that have most of the flavour and are milder than jalepenos.

For anyone watching him eat the oxtails, and you're thinking he's being overly dramatic, I can assure you that he's not! Oxtails really ARE that delicious! (Assuming they're cooked long enough to fall off the bone.)
Brazed oxtails burgundy, made in a cast iron Dutch Oven (either "stovetop" or in the oven), pressurecooked, made as a stew in a slow-cooker... it is the MOST delicious cut of beef that there is! The tragedy is that there's only one tail per cow, and, it's rather small (compared to other cuts of beef).
It's an extremely "tough" cut, and if you cook it like you'd cook a more tender cut, I doubt you'd even find it edible (assuming you managed to chew a bit of it off the bone). But cooked slowly in moist heat...words truly cannot describe it.

Just last night I made the Butter Chicken Bowtie Pasta. Oh. My. God. I mean, you had me at 'Butter', but DAMN! (Reader, if you're at all a fan of curry, you gotta make this.)
You're never gonna convince me to make a hamburger in an Instant Pot - I don't grill, but I've got a really good stainless pan that is the right tool (for me) for that job. But from now on I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. I'd especially like to see a navy bean soup recipe from you! Keep up the delicious work, sir.

GREAT VIDEO!!! Oh my gosh, I can remember as a little girl my Mom getting ox tails because they were super cheap and she cooked them with beans. I however, have never cooked with them. But after watching this and watching you and Richard just chow on them, yep, I'm going to have to make this dish. Now, only problem is, will my husband eat ox tails, hmmmmm, if not, more for me..... Thanks so much for a wonderful video and recipe, loved it. Claudia

I agree that it used to be a "throw away" meat. Now I have a soul food restaurant that I go to for them because they are so expensive. But will go ahead and make the sacrifice of buying them for this recipe. Love oxtails!!!!

Been following you for over a year now. Tried most if not all the recipes you have shown. Must say they are pretty good. I went out last week and spent $80.00 to get the ingredients for your chilli short rib recipe. Still was pretty good. However , being out of work and no money to spend on your recipes, any chance you can come up with a recipe that tastes good for about $20.00. Not working now due to Covid 19. Very little money to play with, to try out your recipes. Greatly appreciated if you can make one up for me and the rest of the world..

I like this. 💯💯💯🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 I do believe I need to pronounce you an honorary Jamaican. The reason I believe oxtail is on the pricy side is that demand is constantly growing plus oxen/cows only have one tail each. 🤣🤣🤣
