@@RayTeerlink Well I happen to be in the exact same state as both of you. After watching this video I'm planning to buy this pot and cook my roasts in a new method. I'm planning on putting my Crockpot out to pasture. Even though I already have my own "famous" roast beef recipe (came up with it on my own and YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!) I intend to give this recipe a try and am looking forward to it beating my own. 😉

@@stephenmagness5999 I believe you. I usually spend every summer up in the Central California area (my husband is a farmer) and the past 10 years have been toastier (is that a word?) than usual. I'm always looking forward to the cooler weather but it's always hotter than expected once I arrive. Btw I have a sister who also lives in Sacto. Maybe that's why she's spending the summer at my other sister's beach house? Stay cool!

Hey Jeff, I just wanted to say thank you. I’ve made this about four times now and my kids absolutely love it. I read a comment above about another single Dad. I have four children and I run a business and my life is really crazy. Feels like this I can throw it together early and the kids absolutely love it. I appreciate the time it takes to put videos like this together for people like us.

Since watching this tutorial I have made this recipe half a dozen times. Needless to say, it has become a house favorite. I have a couple of tips. 1. Don't worry about the gravy mix, especially if you need to be gluten-free; gravy mix is just beef bullion with emulsifiers which is covered by the beef broth and corn starch. 2. Before adding the butter to deglaze the pot add a couple of tablespoons of the wine. This will deglaze the bottom of the pot in seconds rather than having to constantly scrape the bottom.

Additional tip, let your meat cool in the liquid, when you remove hot meat from cooking liquid it steams all the juices out of itself. Since you are going to finish your sauce you will be reheating anyway.

I have to say, that I didnt have beef, I had pork so I changed a few things up. I put in chicken stock, pork and exchanged the red wine for white. Otherwise I followed everything you did. Im NEVER making a Roast dinner again. This was simply amazing. Why use all the pots and pans for a roast and waste 2 o 3 hours. Omg, this is soooo fast. Just made this for New Years. My whole family were blown away. Super amazing and definitely going on our regular house menu. We've had our instant pot for months but this was my first time using it. Super easy and super delicious. If I had to add any critique I would possibly add just a dash less salt. I would also recommend cutting up the potatoes a little, especially if you are cooking more than you will eat in one sitting (the big potatoes don't reheat as fast as the rest will).

But if it works, leave a comment and let the guy who posted his recipe know that it works. You may find something that works as well or better. That's for what this channel was designed. With all of that said, I made this recipe last night. It was simple and very tasty. It has become one of my "go-to" recipes. I finished it off for 30 minutes with actual pressure cooking, then just added on extra time at the end during the natural release. Still turned out FANTASTIC. I just bought one of these as a present to myself! Had the old fashioned kind. It looks delicious and you're a great instructor. I only have one suggestion (I've been cooking for 55 years LOL) Add a teensy bit of your seasoning mixture to the vegetables in your packets. One rule of a great soup, stew, casserole is layered flavors. Adding a bit f seasoning to your veggies will add a bit of depth.

Just came across this video, I can't wait to try this method. I've always cooked my roast by itself for 45 min and then put the veggies in and go another 20 min. This seems like a much more efficient way to do it. I guess putting the veggies in foil keeps them from completely breaking down which they would if they cooked in the liquid for an hour. I also love the idea of the trivet.

Rockabilly Bird Why? because the planet needs more trash that will never decompose ..and it’s too hard to wash one more dish with the others?? One time use & straight to the landfills. I don’t mean to sound snarky. It just seems like we’re all going about our daily activity acting like we care about the planet but we do the opposite. I do it too, but I’m trying to cut down. I cut out Starbucks because of all the cups lids & whatever they use to make it. Now I’m making my own coffees & using a metal sippee cup - same cup for well over 2 years.
One piece less, per person per day, would have tremendous impact for the next generations on saving the planet. We should ALL be together on reducing our waste. 🤔
