I love how genuine and nice Phil is In his videos it really shows how amazing most of the mountain biking community is, I love how he always try’s to start conversations on the lift and stuff. I ski and like every time I’m on the lift it’s always so quite and no one talks to each other so it’s nice to see him always starting conversations
Learned something new about metallurgy from big Red! Phil being a man of the people, coaching up kids on the Reef and giving gopro tips! Love to see it, great ambassador to dh
Phil, there is a whole new channel of content in here... presenting "up lifting with Phil" where Phil post his conversations with random bikers as they ride the up lift at bike parks. Listen to people's backgrounds, jokes, biking fails and so much more. Coming soon to most streaming platforms and wherever you download your podcasts.
That glove wipe transition at 2:54 was awesome. My favorite part of your channel is how cool your are to and interact with other riders. Thanks for being awesome Phil
Phil getting at the most important topic of the day. Because of him, I was today year's old when I found out that a violin and a fiddle are the same instrument. Thanks Phil. 👍
Im always blown away of how fast you are. I ride the same trails in your vids and still get puckered going probably half the speed you do lmao. Thanks for the vid Phil, time to come out of MTB hibernation :D
Great to see more from you, Phil! Looked super fun, as always, and you're such an outgoing person, it's nice to see you chatting it up with other people!
Faux Pine (the enduro trail) is one of my favorite trails at Highland. It was funny watching BKXC's video on riding at Highland and I kept thinking he should have ridden that trail as it's more of what he likes to ride, but sometimes he tends to not talk to folks prior to heading to a place to ride.
That is so cool, see you interacting with the regular riders. You are just so humble and down to earth. I can wait to meet you one day. BTW, would like to see you riding with Remy Metailler in one of your videos. That will be so cool !!
Hey all, there's some accounts impersonating me here in the the comments. They use my account photo and have the name "telegram me at skillswithwphil". This is a scam. This is not me. There is no contest. This is a sitewide problem on UA-cam happening to many creators. I've reported it multiple times to UA-cam and blocked their accounts but other than that, there's not much I can do. It's like playing whackamole. Block one, and another pops up.
HA! my daughter and I were there too!! and I thought to myself, Phil should be here, but we never crossed paths! Next time! Your videos made us aware of Highland and we are going on for year 2 now!!!
2:13 Phil: ya know, I think a lot of east coast places ride better early season, when the dirt is still wet. It just has a bit more give Yes Phil, we call this hero dirt😂
Nice one Phil. You should come ride Darkfest one day here in Cape Town. Love watching your videos. I must say you have some of the best bike parks that side of the world. Looking forward to the next video!
Hey Im a CNC machinist too. Iconel sucks to machine! Its even harder than titanium and steel. One or two parts and its time to change out inserts already. Im glad hes still able to get out and ride right now. Im slammed at work doing 6 12 hr days!!
Lunch trail looks like it’s a fun and technical trail. Love all the videos glad I came across you. 👍🏻 Just got back into riding, got a GT aggressor pro. Keep up the great videos. 🤟🏻
Stumbled across your channel man and stoked to say I loved bro. Killer content and riding of course and love the chats with other riders and just being stoked on hitting it with them bro! Subbed and notifications on!
I never comment on videos, but at 23:18, the guy to your left with the white Smith helmet should get a new one. His helmet has multiple dents meaning the underlying foam is likely been impacted and will not protect as well in the next big one. Smith offers crash replacement programs as well fyi. Stay safe and protect your noggins 🤘
Man someone’s gotta make a chest protector with a GoPro mount! I use a chin mount when I’m making videos because it’s a better angle, but when I’m just riding I don’t always want a camera on my chin. But I feel that I ride much better and harder with a camera on because if I crash I at least have it on video 😂
I was thinking of trying to find a chest mount chest protector but I was also thinking if I crash it would probably be better on the helmet, on the chin 🤔.
one of the guys you were talking to inline i seen yesterday may 26 in the back of the stretcher on the side by side the drop after feed drop. hes great guy local dude. not going to say names. i hope he is alright.
Hey Phil, you’re a pretty fast dude. Can I recommend that you look into using a full face helmet and goggles, and a chest protector? And even a neck brace, can save your life. I am guessing that you don’t wear a full face helmet because you talk to your audience sometimes. Although please keep in mind that you can wear full gear, and take off the helmet and goggles when talking to the camera. Takes a little more time, although totally worth it for your safety. I used to ride motocross, and I intend on getting back into it one day. And from my experience, which honestly isn’t even too much, it only takes one bad accident to really hurt you dude. You guys are riding close to trees too, which can have branches hurt your eyes, and rocks and other things that can seriously hurt your jaw. And as quick as you are, a bad crash into a rock, tree or stump could actually break bones or worse without a chest protector. ( not that chest protectors are perfect, although they can help.) Additionally, if you haven’t taken a tumbling class, I certainly recommend it. I’m saying all of this because my gear really kept me alive in an accident where I landed head first, then literally rolled around 30-40ft from the bike on flat ground. Shattered and dislocated my shoulder, much better than what would have happened if I wasn’t wearing a neck brace, if you catch my drift. And you are very quick, don’t want you to get hurt. I’m not a mountain biker, although I do enjoy the similarities and scenery. Keep it safe out there man!
The comment about VT cost of living hits home. I'd love to relocate to Vermont, or some areas out west, but the cost of living had just become crushing anywhere remotely desirable.
So ready all I got is my hardtail scout 290 waiting for first available mega 290 but can't wait too push myself on the hardtail be using every bit of my lyrik 160mm ultimate
Honestly, the chair talks and interactions with other riders is great content. 👍
that's how i found this channel rode up with him once like 2019 and he told me about his channel. bought a bike and been addicted since. thanks phil
ya definently

Exactly!! It’s always so cool to see how amazing Phil is with the community
I love the little conversations with people on the lifts. Everyone seems so friendly and cool. Great to see.
Love how he gives all the bros air time on the channel. Phil is the man. Unreal riding, love to pretend

Underated comment

so happy to see a video on this channel again
big fan from Chile, South America
Bike park season? Already? Let’s gooo! Kinda scared of Highland though after I broke my arm there
Aw man sorry to hear that. It's claimed a lot of people over the years. Take it slow, and you'll be fine!
Me too! I fractured my collar bone and right elbow and I haven't been the same since.
If you break the other one it'll equal out and give you good luck
@@kylemccartney1831 yup I’m still trying to get used to riding again 😂
Phil it absolutely boggles my mind watching you ride. Plus you have such a lovely character. Good on ya mate.
Man Phil those huck gaps into rocks are insane dude! Gotta have a lot of trust in your tires for those 😅 sick vid man!
How could I have slept on how fun Phil is to watch. Learned so much from him early in his youtube days. Thanks for the footy🙌🏽
Phil getting at the most important topic of the day. Because of him, I was today year's old when I found out that a violin and a fiddle are the same instrument.
Thanks Phil. 👍
I really like how humble and genuine Phil is, there needs to be more Phil's in the world.
Im always blown away of how fast you are. I ride the same trails in your vids and still get puckered going probably half the speed you do lmao. Thanks for the vid Phil, time to come out of MTB hibernation :D
Phil, man, I like watching you interact with everyone as much as watching you fly.
Anyone else get beyond stoked for park riding after watching Phil's video's??
Nothing makes me want to go ride my bike more than watching one of your videos! Thanks for always putting out such good content!
I think you are the friendliest mtb youtuber rider Phil. Nice riding.
That thumb wipe camera transition at 2:54 was slick!
The way Phil pops just seems surreal like it's added in post, crazy man.
Great to see more from you, Phil! Looked super fun, as always, and you're such an outgoing person, it's nice to see you chatting it up with other people!
"Lift chair conversations with phil" could be a good new segment 🤣

My man Nick rolling with Phil! Love it!
That drop gap down below you guys on the lift at 0:58 holy moly! Btw, I really like that you include the conversations on the lift up! 🤙
Yep ... that last trail you called the "Enduro trail" defo the best on your footage of the day 👌
Phil’s ability to get mega air of things that shouldn’t get any air is absolutely insane!
Miss watching Phil flying down some crazy northeastern rocks! Great to see it again! So impressive!
I rode at Highland for the first time last fall because of you. Trails are so dang fun and playful.
Place is awesome.
That is so cool, see you interacting with the regular riders. You are just so humble and down to earth. I can wait to meet you one day. BTW, would like to see you riding with Remy Metailler in one of your videos. That will be so cool !!

You know the season has started when Phil does a Highland Park video. We even got to meet Red this video.
Hell yeah dude! We rode there Saturday,, it was so much fun!!!
Local legend rips it with the teeny boppers.
"Trail crew not going to be happy with you", Grant.
Some of those lines you take just blow my mind 😂
Absolutely awesome! I remember the first video I saw on your channel was of you riding this trail system in the snow! Always wicked fun! 🤘
WHAT A SATISFYING VIDEO, CONGRATULATIONS BY THE CHANNEL

Gosh, this video makes me itch to go back to Highland.

Only found this channel over the winter months - excited to watch a season unfold!

I actually think they do, but I don't wear chest protects so hopefully somebody will chime in with a suggestion!
@@SkillsWithPhil I’ll have too look into it, guess you could always heat up a sticky mount too
I was thinking of trying to find a chest mount chest protector but I was also thinking if I crash it would probably be better on the helmet, on the chin 🤔.

Really missed your videos over winter Phil! 🤙🏼
My first bike park season of riding mountain bikes and I’m super excited to hit a few here on the east coast in NC, and WV
The comment about VT cost of living hits home. I'd love to relocate to Vermont, or some areas out west, but the cost of living had just become crushing anywhere remotely desirable.
Can't wait to go to my first ever bike park this year! Also amazing video Phil!❤
I would love to learn how to mountain bike. Once I learn how to ride a bike lol. It looks so fun and freeing
18.19… am I the only one who heard the bar clip the tree when he boosted? Haha
Cannot wait to rip some parks this season! Rumor has it we are getting our own down hill trails with lifts in Vegas; if so the stoke will be real!
I was just about to check if Highland was open! I want to go again since my first time going was last fall and it was a blast!
Phil, the local celebrity on the trails.
What a good frendly vibe channel keep up

Yo Phil you should come out to Parker mtn and ride the backside at the wall ride in Littleton
Hey Phil have you ever thought of nose bonking that rock drop at 7:20 ?
I did it a long time ago and made a mental note not to do it again. I looked and I don't think I have any footage of it though :(
LOve the highland vids!!! NEver stop them
Yoooooo! Let’s go! Bike park season is here!
Its fucking amazing how everyone just knows phil instantly.
