Yeah I've done downhill races on my hardtail and it worked fine. Obviously you can't go as fast and your riding style has to change a bit but you can pretty much ride anything on a modern hardtail
I've been riding a hardtail, and sometime a full ridged fat bike, on Everything - even at Keystone and the trails around Salida Co. When I got on a YETI Full Suspension last week I felt like I could ride anything - the bike did all the work.
It's a shame we missed each other, I would've been happy to show you what NH has for trails. Highland is fantastic, but you didn't get a chance to ride NH.
Looks like a great park, blue and green trails with actual real features, actual blue tech trails with actual tech. Single black that you can't just plow truck.
Bike park is the best, it's a fast way to progress ones skill on jumps and drops and just for building confidence on the bike. Take care stay safe and have fun
I was there that day. You were the only person besides me and a friend in line wearing a mask. Really appreciated seeing it. Way to set an example for the younger riders.
We are super lucky to have a lot of bike parks in the New England Area. Powder Ridge in CT, Thunder Mountain in MA, Highland in NH, Killington in VT...There are several other lift service mountains as well that I didn't mention. Definitely going to get myself a DH bike.
Thanks Brian. I like ride now😇 I had no idea about Kincaid here in Anchorage Alaska until watching you ride it even though I live here in Anchorage. I just hit it couple days ago and wow😳 I’m hooked. Thanks again
If you haven’t been already, you definitely need to check out Thunder Mountain in Charlemont Massachusetts. It’s probably my favorite bike park in New England.
Love your vids and thanks for 'em. You're really inspiring me to get a van, sell my house and shred several states. I'm an empty nester so it'd be easy to do however, over the years, I've managed to accumulate a boat load of stuff mainly in areas of garage/tools/stuff and really have to think this through. ON THE FENCE!!!!
I really appreciate you sharing this video. This is insane Trail. And I enjoyed every minute of it felt like I was riding with you. Thumbs up on analyzing all the prospects. Before you dangerously went down them. Keep up the hard work. Thanks. Enjoy your videos
Brian, you are a much better rider then you give your self credit for. You ripped the EWS trails in Whistler at a great pace. I do the same thing and second guess myself. Trust your skill and your bike is awesome. Love your vids Bro, just wanted to throw you some props.
Great job BK, you said "Aluminum" the correct way!

Dude, I am 10 minutes from New Hampshire in Massachusetts. I've lived in New Hampshire several times. I hope you enjoyed your stay. You're just over an hour away from me.
I live in maine have you done that yet if so go to Clifford Park in biddeford maine its awesome its not as hard,of trails but its beautiful and theres a water fall and other amazing freatures of the technical trail
Looking forward to that upper Midwest section of the map being filled out 👍 loving the balance between riding and van time. Keep up the great content my man!
Powder ridge in ct is my new favorite bike park. Has some decent size jumps and the lines are quarter the length of everything else around. Good place to go if you want a lot of riding for a cheap price.
Man, I was hoping you wouldn't choose Highland when you went to NH. It's like going to a fancy restaurant and ordering a PB&J. NH has so much more to offer all the way from North Conway to the Seacoast. Please don't make the same mistake in VT by going to Kingdom.
I’m glad you enjoyed Highlands man.I ride it weekly and love it.I hope some day you can make it back to NH.I think there were two places that would blow your mind here.Green Woodlands and North Conway has tons on trails that are right up your alley.Shred on man!!Im loving this 50 State Shred series
The thought waiting in line to ride my bike makes me cringe. I ride in the woods to get away from people. Especially now. That being said, great video as usual.
".... Or a woman!" Yep! gotta be ready for the unexpected Karen! Hahaha! Nice one Brian, love the bike parks videos i always find them different from what you usually do. Cheers!
Nice trails and nice video. I believe that rattle is getting louder with each video. It almost sounds like a water rattling around and at other times it sounds like the stem. The trails look like a lot of fun.
For the love of god man please tell me there are more New Hampshire videos yet to be posted and you rode all the North Conway trails. If not you truly missed out Brian.
Would've been so much better to have someone show you the lines cause Highland is an absolute gem. Not as smooth or fun when you're not hitting the jumps. Took me a few runs and tow but imo that's the best bike park you'll find.
It's your house, Brian. And you move to a new place day to day. Your concern is totally justified. Maybe get a couple Ring cameras. They'll bolt on the outside of the van just as easily as they would a house... no need to hardwire them since they're battery powered. You'd need a hotspot of course, and it wouldn't necessarily work in the middle of Moab, but for those closer-to-civilization situations, maybe it would give you peace of mind, both when you're in there at night, and when you're on the trail and away from the van.
Hiya bro still watching you evolve, when coming to a drop think about your take off speed and bike position rather than the fear. It's a normal human thing. :)
Hey BK, Love your video's, and that grey goose your riding.......Sound like the goose needs some much needed maintenance. It's sounding like the rocks I have rattling around in my head.
Ik you have left New York but it would be interesting to see what you think of the "tough" long island trails it's more XC for the most part some newly build trails are supposed to be very bouldery though
Brian that was a lot of fun on Lower Happy Hour I agree! Do you have a security system? There are plenty of camera/security systems for cars/trucks! Also WaspSpray is a great self defense tool! Goes much farther than mace! And it has a strong stream! We have it as our second line after our three dogs!
It just goes to show you with this episode, as an experienced rider if you don’t know a trail you can spend an inordinate amount of time just trying to figure out where it’s going and what the line is. We’ve all been here. 👍
2 places I think you should ride when you come to CT, Norbrook Farm Brewery, and Powder Ridge DH park maybe. Ofc u should totally ride west hartford reservoir but I only say that because I ride there lol. Also Cowles park is fun and so are some other places. CT has a pretty good amount of riding for how small of a state it is imo lol.
My advice for getting better at jumping is take like a summer to just ride flats and basically restart that helped me so much to progress and not “cheat” with the clips.
It still amazes me how people think you can’t hit gnarly stuff on hardtails🙄 it’s all about the rider🤙🏽
Kind of mind blowing really. #hardtalegang
Amen!
HT can do exactly the same stuff, but some of them a litle slower, also HT sharpen your tecnic a lot
You can hit it on a CX bike, too. Doesn't mean it will be pleasant for very long. Enjoy the hurting everything.
Yeah I've done downhill races on my hardtail and it worked fine. Obviously you can't go as fast and your riding style has to change a bit but you can pretty much ride anything on a modern hardtail
Welcome to New England! 🤙🏽
Aye jc
Phil actually rode the Huffy over at Thunder Mountain in Charlemont, Mass down a trail called Hawleywood.
I've been riding a hardtail, and sometime a full ridged fat bike, on Everything - even at Keystone and the trails around Salida Co. When I got on a YETI Full Suspension last week I felt like I could ride anything - the bike did all the work.
I never heard someone get upset about a cats paw run. Those features are too smooth!
Keith you would if you were a regular. Lol. It gets pretty beat up.
That looks like one of the best blue trails I've seen. Blue flow trails at many bike parks are just a few tabletops and braking bumps from hell
mrvwbug44 it’s the funnest trail ever
Cats paw is a perfect warm up & cool down trail... Perfect to wrap up the day on 🤷♂️
Dude legit. I'd say at this point I'm a local and cat's paw is always a go to trail
That was surprisingly legit! Flow and tech with a decent vertical. Makes me want to make the trip up to NH.

I was there that day. You were the only person besides me and a friend in line wearing a mask. Really appreciated seeing it. Way to set an example for the younger riders.
Also next time you should check out tombstone, hellion and bonesaw. Highland is known for its bigger freeride stuff, not it's blues.
There also is Hammond Ridge, in Millinocket the Nordic trust Heritage Center, Bradbury Mountain State Park, Sunday river,And numerous more
Looooove highland bike park, that place is super fun. One of my favorite bike parks, super playful and flowy.
You mentioned phill on the huffy, that was at Thunder mountain bike Park. I know you already rode in mass but I seriously recommend you go there.
When in Vermont skip the bike parks, skip kingdom Trails and Ride Cochrans and Perry Hill trails systems for some good VT single track.
Great ride, I enjoy your level of riding. You are honest about what you can and can’t ride. It feels more realistic.
To keep from getting broken into, you should put a diaper service logo on the outside. Then put a hazardous waste placard on it. LOL
*Nice Brian!! I can't wait to see your pick for Pennsylvania!*
I was at highland the day after that storm. Rented a Kona DH bike and had so much fun
Love when U take your time through the trail and shows the harder features without the gopro effect 👍👏
Yeah like how he does that to and wish more guys did that. Really helps to visualize yourself riding it when he gives different looks
I'm glad I'm not the only guy who enjoys more than just jump trails at the bike park.
Lower Happy Hour is like being on a roller coaster ! Nice job Brian !
Hope you had a chance to ride the "other" stuff in NH. All sorts of great riding further north and south😁
Those trails look really fun. I guess I have another one to add to the bucket list.
We are super lucky to have a lot of bike parks in the New England Area. Powder Ridge in CT, Thunder Mountain in MA, Highland in NH, Killington in VT...There are several other lift service mountains as well that I didn't mention. Definitely going to get myself a DH bike.
Love it!! Keep shredding! Love the Pinhoti patch.. my neck of the woods.
When you go to Vermont hit Killington bike park!! Beast of the East
Definitely
So many great places to ride in NH and we get another highland video...
Much love from the lift crew up here at highland!!!
Don't worry about those hardtails. You see that often on the east coast. I just bought a dual suspension in april. They're probably custom
Love this place my local park!
I rode Highland for the first time a few weeks ago. Had an epic time there!
dude you made that place look awesome, really good video.
Thought about renting a lock up, I did many years ago. Then just travelled for 2 years. Best move I made. Good luck.
Thanks. Yeah, I’ve given that some thought and that’s definitely a viable option. Decisions decisions.
I really appreciate you sharing this video. This is insane Trail. And I enjoyed every minute of it felt like I was riding with you. Thumbs up on analyzing all the prospects. Before you dangerously went down them. Keep up the hard work. Thanks. Enjoy your videos
I AM FROM INDIA AND AFTER WATCHING HIS VIDEOS MY ENGLISH IS IMPROVING VIDEO BY VIDEO SO THANKS FOR IT BRIAN !!!
That is good English bro 💪🔥
@@A.D.D.O.C.D.T thanks dude I appreciate it
You’re doin good. It’s a tough language 🤣🤣
Brian, you are a much better rider then you give your self credit for. You ripped the EWS trails in Whistler at a great pace. I do the same thing and second guess myself. Trust your skill and your bike is awesome. Love your vids Bro, just wanted to throw you some props.
one of the better video endings you put out lately, really loved the bear spray!!!
Cool place, BKXC taking a park day lift lines but no climbs, not in Kansas anymore!
Great job BK, you said "Aluminum" the correct way!
Dude, I am 10 minutes from New Hampshire in Massachusetts. I've lived in New Hampshire several times. I hope you enjoyed your stay. You're just over an hour away from me.
Has you never been to Highland before? It's amazing. When you do Mass, check out Thunder. Avoid the greens.
Well come out here hope you have fun
I live in maine have you done that yet if so go to Clifford Park in biddeford maine its awesome its not as hard,of trails but its beautiful and theres a water fall and other amazing freatures of the technical trail
awesome coverage of highland from a NH native! enjoy the rest of your journey!
Those trails look like fun!
Love that park, have to go again soon.
I just want to say, I love your trail/bike park vids! I wish we have one here in our area. I want to improve on my riding skills.
Ah damn, too bad you couldn't spend a couple days in NH. SO many good trails here!
Man, I was hoping you wouldn't choose Highland when you went to NH. It's like going to a fancy restaurant and ordering a PB&J. NH has so much more to offer all the way from North Conway to the Seacoast. Please don't make the same mistake in VT by going to Kingdom.
Where would you recommend? Im heading up there soon to go biking but i normally i don't like to ride trails with tons of punchy annoying climbs.
@@lauriedavignon5639 Where are you headed?
@@bckwth When i'm in NH I'm around Hanover but when I'm in Vermont I'm normally around Glover.
That first run (Cats Paw?) looks hella fun! Hardtails are fun too!
North Conway has some great trails too if you're still in the area!
You killed that jump line! Nice
i ride my hard tail there all the time. they are set up for dirt jumpers too. he probably saw me. i was there couple days before this vid. cool vid
“You can use a nice little how do yah do” Lolol stay safe out there BK
The thought waiting in line to ride my bike makes me cringe. I ride in the woods to get away from people. Especially now.
That being said, great video as usual.
Looks like so much fun, I have to make it to Highland soon.
That looked like a real fun park
Welcome to New Hampshire!!
I would suggest grabbing a can of wasp spray for defense. It can shoot up to 20 to 30 feet. I would use it over mace.
I have been watching for a while. This is the first vid that I saw Brian get a little cautious on a feature!
For the love of god man please tell me there are more New Hampshire videos yet to be posted and you rode all the North Conway trails. If not you truly missed out Brian.
Facts.
Nice! I cant wait for your video of Massachusetts, you rode at my favorite MTB trail system!
Maybe get a couple Ring cameras. dang our local mountain... shoulda hit one of us to show ya around. The riding up north is not to be missed either, drop me a line if you need info...
the rockgarden on the trail for me thats gnarly! nice to you riding it smooth, watching from philippines
I can’t wait until you get to do the Only Rhode Island Enduro course. 35 miles. Some have compared it to Rockville or BC Bike Race.
This bike park looks awesome 😎👍🏻
I use bear mace to protect my house. It shoots 30-40 feet. Wasp and hornet spray is good also.
favorite trails at highland
1) Hellion
2) lower happy hour
3) upper NE style
Hiya bro still watching you evolve, when coming to a drop think about your take off speed and bike position rather than the fear. It's a normal human thing. :)
I’m the guy who spotted you in line by your bike. Lol. Looked up and saw the bandana! Busted!
Hey BK, Love your video's, and that grey goose your riding.......Sound like the goose needs some much needed maintenance. It's sounding like the rocks I have rattling around in my head.
greetings from Costa Rica!!! Be safe!!
Wasp spray is GREAT for protection! 20' to 30' distance and they sell it at Wal-Mart! Great VIDS!
Awesome ride, Brian 👍🏼

Hey!.... I’m working really hard at becoming one of those “brainless bro’s!” Lol, I already got the brainless part down 💩
Biking With Bobo omg its you, i love your channel
Slashy ツ 🤘
let's see Biking with Bobo in New England!
Shoot, when I was on my road trip a couple years ago, hiking in New Hampshire made me REALLY miss my Mountain Bike...

Man Brian you gotta start walking your bike back up to hit the features you're missing. Need to get that time in there!
I always switch to flat pedals when I go to an unfamiliar trail that’s known to be difficult
I thought for sure you would hit the wall ride from BCPOV's video lol Great vid and awesome riding!
My advice for getting better at jumping is take like a summer to just ride flats and basically restart that helped me so much to progress and not “cheat” with the clips.
Yep - Too much thinking has sent me over the bars more than once - No bueno!!!
I freaking love your videos man! Thanks 🙏🏽
Cracking me up with the Meat Sweats man 😂
hello brian @BKXC! are you planning to come to israel any time soon? we have AMAZING trails around here!
