Watch's jays perspective here ua-cam.com/video/mT7gHO2gKl4/v-deo.html It's good to have you back on UA-cam, and finally catch up in person. One of these days i need redemption on learning flairs.
I love how respectful and nice Phil is to others on the trail. He doesn’t drop in right after people, he gives others room when he catches up to them, he doesn’t make people get out of his way… just such great etiquette.
@SkillsWithPhil Phil I was in ur vid I was the kid who came right behind the guy riding the trials bike down cats paw I was the guy who asked you to sign my green 100% goggles during lunch. THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU MADE MY YEAR!
I hadn't heard of Jay before but you guys have a great vibe together. Both of these videos have been really fun and capture the casual playing off each other that a lot of mountain biking with friends is for me personally. Awesome content!
That landing on the boards at 2:03 is amazing, made me flinch ;) Good comment on the behaviour of some riding very close to 'slower' riders. Just wait, no need to push or pressure someone else in making a mistake. Keep it up!
I'm so stoked this colab finally happened! First of all because I truly love both of your guys content and extremely high level of skill! But the vibe you sent out riding together was phenomenal 🎉 Please give us more! !!
that line at 25:33 was so subtle but so sick 🤙 I follow Jay on his channel and always like his quirky personality and insane skills. Super cool to see you guys riding together.
I was a camper at Camp Woodward (PA) when scotty came through as a guest pro. It was super fun to watch him ride in person. It wasn't too much longer after that that I transitioned to MTB. It's weird and cool to see the BMX and MTB worlds finally crossing over a bit more.
Yesssssss love the video!…jay is a wild man! When we did the thunder video for his channel he followed me blind into forthill and made the entire line first try!…also when we rode trail mtb…he goes for 15-20 mile rides with no water in hot weather idk how he does it! Sick vid man!
Jay is my favourite bmxicle rider & his sarcasm skills are unparalleled. The man is "dry as a popcorn fart". Great colab ..... will he get you out on a BMX sometime?
7-8 years ago, Jay helped me learn "flairs". I use that term loosely because I don't think i really want to count it as a real flair haha instagram.com/p/xdIqogyG0q/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
The rock garden Jay accidentally launched into is no joke. I’ve hit that creek gap 100 times and randomly got off line, blown off a pedal, and basically exploded into a season-stopper. 6” can be the difference between an easy gap or a full on man-eater on that thing.
Jay's riding looks great on camera. If you guys do more rides together in the future you could strap a gopro on him as well. Third person POV really compliments both your styles.
Would've love to see Phil shred on old school downhill bikes. I got an obsession with the classics lately. I wanna see great riders like Phil use it to it's full potential.
I started racing DH on an '05 kona stinky supreme. By today's standards that's pretty old school. I'd be okay not riding one again, modern bikes even trails feel so much better in comparison!
Heck yeah that was rad watching you guys shred together! Two of my favorite UA-camrs on the same video!!! I was winding if there is any camping near Highlands Bike Park? Or anywhere it would be cool to stealth 'ish camp? We have a 4runner set up for camping and will be coming up to Highlands fro my birthday next weekend.
In your defense, suspension companies could do a way better job explaining this stuff. They use a lot of industry jargon. Thats why i made this video a while ago, though even that doesn't explain how those functions translate to the trail. ua-cam.com/video/pfnoqZX0d4E/v-deo.html
Very nice video Phil! As for Jay, I have been watching his videos since his beginning. He needs a translator for his terms sometime. If he says that he is not good at something, it usually mean that he is still better than 90% of the people at it. If he as something dialed, well good luck trying to make it better than him.
Phil are you absolutely confident that the chair lift will not experience a mechanical failure during your lifts that you ride with the safety bar not engaged? If the chair comes to a sudden stop due to mechanical failure, how do you handle that? Myself, being a HVAC service tech, do not have that degree of confidence in mechanical devices not to fail.
Kind of unrelated but how is it using an applewatch put when riding? I never noticed you wore one before and with the speed you go down is it confident to ride with it or would you rather take something like a garmin?
Most garmins are a bit too large and heavy for my liking, and fwiw i run the smaller apple watch. I wish it was a bit slimmer, but it works well for what i need. I have a bit of a bumper case on my to try and protect the screen a bit, but it's still pretty scratched from trail building and riding. I use the solo loop watch band as i found that not having a buckle as the bands with buckles dig into my wrist.
Point being of the adjustments on the fork in the video : Mountains Bikers are just way too technical to have fun | BMX'er's are having too much fun to spend time on the technicalities! 😅
Is it ridiculous that I love downhill but I hate riding parks because I hate ski lifts? lol I hate heights and lifts legit make me nervous...any tricks to overcome this would be sick because I really want to ride more parks (I'm in CO). Homeboy is holding the handle like he isn't so sure as well lol I feel that
I get vertigo near edges of cliffs, even big exposed rock faces make me nervous. Oddly enough chairlifts have never given me the same feeling. There's a safety bar that you can and should put down. But when you are on the lift, just look ahead, or to the side. As long as you don't look directly down, you don't realize how high up you are. If you have friends with you having a conversation is a good way to distract yourself. Another option is to find a smaller bike park, they often have smaller less intimidating lifts. If all else fails, there are bike parks that shuttle riders up the mountain in trucks/trailers. Wind rock, rock creek, coast gravity park are a few that come to mind.
Hi Phil, off topic question. Are those the Wild Rye pants your girlfriend is wearing? Asking cause I don't get to see those on other girls very often. Love your vids by the way. :)
7:20 dude I feel like I got super charged after 30. I am way stronger in all aspects... Perhaps I should have taken better care of myself in the 20's though? ya
BMX folk transition to downhill, roadies do a lot better transitioning to XC.... Seen roadies crying on the side of the trail because roots are slick and i've seen BMX people puking their guts out on gentle climbs
Thanks again for an amazing day of big-biking.
For all you watching, those gaps Phil does are way more intense than the video makes them out to be!

Love phil's reactions when people somehow spot him deep in the woods 🤣
Jay's (the BMX rider) is an insanely talented BMX-rider. One of the best styles in BMX and not afraid to go big. Good to see him on here!
27:49 Thanks for the advice, was awesome to meet you and Jay, love the content
lol knew it was u

If you like Jay, you're gonna love his sister.

I still haven't hit that gap... but man he makes it look smooth! Tight line!
this is the collab we needed but we didnt know we wanted. been watching jay for a while and hes an insane bike handler
I love watching Jay ride - great to see him back after injury
Jay + Phil = World domination!
Please keep doing more bike park and I love watching highland videos!
I'm so stoked this colab finally happened! First of all because I truly love both of your guys content and extremely high level of skill! But the vibe you sent out riding together was phenomenal 🎉 Please give us more! !!

Been watching Jay forever on Spencer's and Scotty's channels (and his of course) - awesome to see him on a bog bike, he can ride anything
I was a camper at Camp Woodward (PA) when scotty came through as a guest pro. It was super fun to watch him ride in person. It wasn't too much longer after that that I transitioned to MTB. It's weird and cool to see the BMX and MTB worlds finally crossing over a bit more.
@@SkillsWithPhil You should get his brother to come out on a ride! He's getting into MTB too!
Jay F Dalton! Your favorite BMXer's favorite BMXer! Heckin Ay!
Cool seeing jay dalton. All I can think is Spencer’s I love jays sister stickers lmao
One of the best on going jokes.
Jay is an amazing rider and under appreciated in BMX. I love this combo.
Yesssssss love the video!…jay is a wild man! When we did the thunder video for his channel he followed me blind into forthill and made the entire line first try!…also when we rode trail mtb…he goes for 15-20 mile rides with no water in hot weather idk how he does it! Sick vid man!

I remember Jay mentioning you in one of his vids quite a while ago and I'm pumped to see the collaboration finally come together. Great video.

So excited to see Jay on the channel!
Super fun video man! Dude’s got some steez left for sure. Great riding and follow cam🔥🔥
Stoked to see Jay on the channel again!
You realy make every feature look eazy. Love all your vids 👌
Endless amounts of skills, with the legendary Phil. Mad video !
And friends!
jays great and awesome seeing him at highland!!!
Jay's riding looks great on camera. If you guys do more rides together in the future you could strap a gopro on him as well. Third person POV really compliments both your styles.
It's a shame he wasn't wearing on his helmet :P
Good content y'all. Very fun to watch
jay is the man, best intro to vids outta anyone lol
Gotta agree. I never was able to settle on a good intro but his is perfect
The Collab we didn’t know we needed 🔥
Jay Dalton is awesome he's a sick rider
Oh shit, that's Jay's voice! It's happening!!!!!!
Would've love to see Phil shred on old school downhill bikes.

3:04 is the most relatable "Ohhhhhhhh!" ever Lmao, no-one including myself knows how to setup suspension
In your defense, suspension companies could do a way better job explaining this stuff. They use a lot of industry jargon. Thats why i made this video a while ago, though even that doesn't explain how those functions translate to the trail. ua-cam.com/video/pfnoqZX0d4E/v-deo.html
Jay is such a talented rider, amazing considering the state of his suspension setup
You were shredding that place man
Jay is a versatile beast
start off easy, picks threshold lmaoo. Phil was definitely in a goofy mood in this video
Very nice video Phil! As for Jay, I have been watching his videos since his beginning. He needs a translator for his terms sometime. dude phil you're fast af lol maaaan
Thanks!
Great video as always! How is the toilet bowl gap? I have the rest of the trail down but haven’t hit that one double yet.
Nice job
Immaculate vibes
Yo it was sick meeting u today
That day u filmed the vid😂
dampening🌊
Yea I love fork dampening. Best way is with a wet paper towel
Awesome epik trail

Hey Phil, my kiddo called you out for not putting the bar down 😂
this is so cool but so scary like i get anxiety just watching this
Speaking of suspension settings, do you tend to run max tokens to get the most progressive feel to play and pop off everything like you do?
I've dialed back how progressive my stuff is. Currently in my fork I'm running a single token, an maybe a little more air than I would in years past.
Man, how do I take a berm so confident like you? You make it look so easy.
the new camera angle makes it harder to see the trail ahead but easier to see the air when you jump... im conflicted about which one i like better
Compared to what? This is the same setup I've been using for years now.
Damn u do have mad skkills ahahaahah
Holy shit Jays doing that on a habit
Some moto videos from Phil in the future?
Kind of unrelated but how is it using an applewatch put when riding? I never noticed you wore one before and with the speed you go down is it confident to ride with it or would you rather take something like a garmin?

Are those the Nobl 37 rims
i was trying to get ur attention the whole day and my brother was trying to get jays cuz he rides bmx lol he was the one that yelled yellow
Now you have to go bmx with him at Woodward
👌
What is that noise at 17:06? :D

Is highland riding well

*wife
Jay hasnt uploaded in ages :(
7:20 dude I feel like I got super charged after 30. I am way stronger in all aspects... Perhaps I should have taken better care of myself in the 20's though? ya
Firs likee and comments for the first time
guys, I think I have to buy another GT bike
sup
Jay is better nice
I would hit every tree and stone
You'll need to a) shave, b) cut your hair short, and c) paint your bike a different color to not be recognized. At least until they see you ride!
Even thats not enough. Ive been recognized in full snowboard gear (face fully covered), in the lift line during winter before. 🤷♂️
BMX folk transition to downhill, roadies do a lot better transitioning to XC.... Seen roadies crying on the side of the trail because roots are slick and i've seen BMX people puking their guts out on gentle climbs
Phil's NE style gap he did under the lift through the shrubs is still one of the gnarliest things ive seen at the park
