These Canadian Trails Are Absolutely Next Level!! 👌 Powell River BC
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- These were some of the best mountain bike trails I've gotten a chance to ride. The Mt Mahony trails are located in Powell River which is part of BC's Sunshine Coast. While it's physically attached to Mainland Canada, due to the mountainous Geography, it's only accessible via Ferries. Out of all the Mountain bike Trails I got to explore on this trip, Powell river has to be my favorite.

The iPhone in front of the face reminds me of Ricky Bobby's struggle with the Fig Newtons advertisement on his windshield. Great video as always Phil!
Loving these videos from BC! Would love to see some follow cam of Phil if that's even possible 😂
Riding the while completely off 😂
those trails actually look amazing! I have to get out there
It looks amazing. You gotta film your first time hitting it. I’d love to watch it.
Have to take the 300mm boostmaster on them!
you can always count on a Skills with Phil video being great
Indeed!
Yes
Great, now lets get him a pump & co2!
Phil: I don’t think you can gap that, it’d be sketchy
Also Phil: immediately gaps it
Your abilty of quick-twitch recovery, after full risk blind jumps in to the abyss, is mind blowing.
couldn’t agree more
Powell River sucks, tell your friends 😉
This one was pretty high on the Phil giggle-o-meter, must have been a lot of fun!
That looks like a crazy fun place! I couldn't even see the trail, most of the time! Great video! 🤘
I would like to see you go on a ride with Remy Metalier...that would make a great video 👌
Hey Phil, you ever have any strange encounters while Biking out in the middle of the woods? That would make for a cool video topic. Keep making awesome videos man!
I live on the Sunshine Coast right beside Powell river
What a great idea let’s like this to oblivion and do what it takes to get Phil to see this and do it.
Grizzly bears lurking in BC. You do not want to run into one mountain biking the trails.
They really do know!
What changed Phil??? The GoPro effect really wasn’t there in this vid! Any new settings?
This was such a FUN video! I'm already loving the recent videos as a BC boy, but this was just beyond in how fun it was. Also a huge thank you for adding in the various geographical contexts as well.
Any plans to come to Kamloops or any of the interior sites?
I'd love to see you do a rebuild video for maintenance
Me too
Phil's channel is one of the few that I hit the like button before I even watch the video.
“That’s how you can tell you have SRAM brakes” 😂 YES DUDE
This is such impressive warp speed. When it looks this steep and gnarly on video it must be nuts. Also Phil, I'm watching the channel for the first time in a while. I noticed your speech is really clear! I'm not sure if this is something you had to work on, but this is a great improvement and cool video. Congrats!
It's like riding a speeder through the forests of Endor.
I’m just amazed how you traversed those trails at speed. I would be so afraid of smashing into a tree . You’re true pro Phil!
Although I live near the north shore and all the cool areas around I am ALWAYS AMAZED how you follow the correct line at blazing speed!!!
I know I'd take the "NONLINE" and cartwheel off a cliff or into a tree!!!
You should meet up with Remy, Phil!! You too would be awesome to watch shredding together 🙏🏼🙏🏼
phil is exactly the kind of biker to ask a feature what it wants to be when it grows up and then completely ignore it and do whatever he wants with it
Awesome videos from BC, you're always welcome in Canada Phil!
Always cheers me up to watch your videos. Great bike handling on challenging and interesting trails and parks, and with fun and enjoyment as the main motivations. Video quality is very good.
Yo Phil, how you finding the 29er compared to 27.5?
You are an absolute animal. I can't fathom how you rip through these places blind. I have also learned when phil starts laughing things are getting sketchy LOL
Then noises you make when excited take me back to my local trails in milliseconds 👊🤠👍🔥💯
Skilladelphia, your bike is soo loud right now get them bolts greased up
Headset is the main culprit! That's what i was trying to say before the ravine distracted me. But sometimes you can grease every bolt, change every bearing, and still be left with a creak!
This looks absolutely bonkers! So awesome to see these trails shredded!
holy crap! whatta zone! whatta trail! whatta video!! stoked you hit the teeter-totter!
Gorgeous ride! One of my favorite SWP videos. Thanks for sharing!
Vermont is great but these trails just look like steps above trails around here. So good!
absolutely gorgeous view, insane spot to put a sick trail system!
Hay Phil can give me some tips for my Chanel I. Going to Woodward in a few weeks Phil will you watch some vide and tell :e what I could do better
watching this from my place in powell river.. yep... .. yep.... there's a reason i moved here. thanks for the reminder
You chose wisely! Very cool place, and you have some great builders
@@SkillsWithPhil the biking community is really strong here. there are guys who literally spend 4 or 5 days a week trail building - shout out to the chain gang!
Those giggles hahaha
I'm a local here on Vancouver island and would recommend heading over to the jordie lunn bike park. They just opened 4 new trails
Atholville Sugarloaf park. New brunswick. Best downhill bike park
re Phils insta story question.....Too long imo... is for me.
8-13 mins is the sweet spot for UA-cam vids....
Just wanted to give my feedback...hopefully useful
When Phil starts to giggle, I know I will never be able to ride that. :-)
the last few videos from Vancouver Island have all been super good in every aspect.
ok. ok. okay... SO... WHY would an experienced rider be using such a ridiculous camera setup? He is the literally the media guy... there has to be something about the camera or the files its creating? right? or was he just live streaming?
Shaming the SRAMs, but having just done a complete refresh on my bike and my wife's bike - the Shimanos are the ones that were cranky about me not being surgical with the rebuild...
Martin does things likes this
Canada loves having Phil hang out. Stay as long as you want 👍
one of the best mtb videos of 2022 right here, Phil. Well done.
"How can you tell you have sram brakes?" Easy, when you're going down a hill and you can't stop.
Hey Phil I have a question, how expensive was your bike? I’m looking for a new full suspension and I’m a decent rider so I was looking at some GT’s and I was wondering If they’re good for intermediate riders. Thanks so much
You can get the base model force for 3800 a compete. Mine with all the custom parts is closer to 7-8k. I'm not sure what the supply side of things are but 2500-3500 used to get you a pretty baller bike, but I think that number is a little higher these days.
@@SkillsWithPhil Yeah I’m going to guess it’s a little bit higher because it 2022.
@@noah_boah5887 best bang for buck is the Marin Alpine Trail XR or Carbon 2, not even Giant can match that spec for price.
Bought my 2019 Gt force based on watching your videos! Last bike I had as a kid was a GT saddleback. Happy to stay on a GT!
Cant believe that I’ve lived in Powell river for 2 years and still haven’t gone here. Looks super fun
uuuuuuggggghhh watching this already makes me think of you ridding down hill after your last crash and breaking your wrist.
Watching this took me straight back to Endor and the speeder bike chase scenes..... LOL
Awesome riding Phil, which trails are these called? Heading up there this weekend!
Probably the best video on your channel!
Phil got no skill on that sub-par GT deeznutz...
I have been to powell river but i couldnt bring my bike, guess i gotta get back there soon
i like your transition on 12:29 to 12:30 did you plan that or was it something you stumbled on while editing?
It wasn't planned while filming but I noticed the similarities while editing so i took advantage of it :)
@@SkillsWithPhil you are awesome amigo your videos make me happy and inspire me thank you for replying 🥃🙏🏿
I had to go back to look. It is very good. Nice editing!
I live on the sunshine coast, right beside power River
It’s almost like a religious experience😁
The sniper puddle at the end. 😂 Surrey hills in the uk has loads.
Hi phil, whos your mate using iphone chin mount? What to ask how he do it
why are their so many mt. biking trails in BC that are not known?
Oh my god this shit is so dangerous, but you gotta live!!
When he said so quite I was just waiting for a guy to run in and scream.
How the hell does that guy ride with that cell phone in his face lol
u should check out the bike park located in townsend tn
Incredible trails!!
So when ya movin ;)
lol I live in BC and was like that tree is small bahaha. glad he said it too
Some of those wood features look sick
Anyone have a link to the video Phil mentions here 9:30?
What's the name of that first trail you were on? I want a head up that way and it looks like a can't-miss.
Fairies wear boots
@@tylerzakkour8427 "...and you gotta believe me." Awesome. Thanks.
@@IDoBlues if you go I recommend doing “Fungi” before, it’s a good steep warmup just above fairies.
@@tylerzakkour8427 Great! Thanks!
@@tylerzakkour8427 Oh man, thanks for the Fungi suggestion! I managed to get up the coast with my son. Loved both trails. So good. Posted the ride on my channel if you are curious what an intermediate hack looks like out there.
I live there! Such a great town!
was this on vancouver island?
The energy here gives me a sanctuary vibe
this is my home town phil! so cool too see you ride there.
Jur-ass-ache Park
MTB people in a nutshell:
riding down a double black diamond at >15mph without any hesitation...
also:
warns his people about a puddle
Lol!! That's good
Thanks for sharing bro!
This guy is insane, he makes it look so easy.
"Anything I should be worried about?" "I don't know." "OK." In that case, let's just hit this blind, full tilt, and trust that all the features were built well. What could possibly go wrong? :-)
Phil rides trails faster on his first time than locals on their 50th. Just incredible to see his skills
Banger trails! I spend time in Cumberland most years, and keep meaning to get over to PR. Now I'm even more motivated!
Could someone please list the trails ridden in this video? Would be useful for those of us planning to visit.
Ferries wear boots
Original gangster
I absolutely love ur laugh!
Most of my family lives in Canada, but unfortunately we live in Australia and it’s a long ways to go, but I think I’m going there to ride in September so hopefully it’s epic
some nice trail work in there !
do a video on cypress
Love the riding and the colors. So nice!👍👍
you made it look so easy. 🔥
My Crackyon Neuron 7 also creaking bcoz damper's lower mount screw cause it but Canyon don't believe and tell to send them entire bike.
definitely gotta make your way to silver mountain bike park, and beacon hill in Spokane Washington!
and the sign coast🎉🎉❤❤
Phil 2 minutes after coming back East.. Honey the house is now for sale! We are moving to Canadia hey!
Phil you're right about people gravitating towards MTB after other bike sports. I've been a moto guy my whole life, I went to Snowshoe last year to watch the races and ride the next day with my brother who was working there at the time. I had so much fun that day, didn't crash, caught a little air, epic. After just one time I would gladly sell my dirt bikes to get into MTBing if I had a closer trails. Unfortunately I'm in Central TN now and all the spots are several hours east. That's really the only thing stopping me from going all in.
Please go to SQUAMISH and meet up with Remy!!
Mr USA - let’s just admit that cdn West coast is the home of modern mtb - respect ! If viewers not aware of “canada” then …
thats norman bc trails
Class trails, epic video as always, some shredding dude, thx for sharing.
Next level quality.
Good to see the Rossignol in action, wondering how it holds up?
Love the vid
