SKII is a big Japanese skincare brand, they use fermented rice in their ingredients which was based off the women working at the sake factories who had clear ageless perfect skin, and the founders of SKII used this to their benefit and scaled the price up so that only the wealthy can afford it on any type of regular basis..
I'm also interested in trying them! But shouldn't shampoo be more aggressive than gentle? I have thin sparse curly hair so if I don't wash with a shampoo that's going to get rid of most of the oil, dirt, and product buildup, my hair looks greasy and flat. Right now I'm using loreal.

i don't even know who to trust at this point, some hair influencers say professional hair care is better for your hair, some say leave in conditioner and oils are not good for your hair. Some say Air drying is bad and some say it's totally natural also washing daily is bad while derms say that's a myth and blah blah blah like I don't know anymore at this point 😅 I get some people are trying to help in the comments but all of this is just repetitive hair care advice, I know what works for my hair, I know what to use and what not to use, all i'm saying is there's so many mixed opinions out there by hair influencers and who really knows what the truth is.
for shampoos and conditioners and leave in products i would say high end products are way better and make ur hair feel so nice and soft. since i used drugstore products my whole life, switching to professional products was a game changer to me and i couldn't go back to using drugstore products!
It really comes down to specific brands and products, and how well they work for your hair. The fact that a brand is “professional” or “high end” doesn’t automatically mean that it’s any good (or will work for your hair), and the fact that another brand is “drugstore” doesn’t mean it’s bad. I’ve had really good drugstore products, and some really crappy high end ones. It’s allll about the individual product. As far as whether or not you should wash your hair everyday goes…it totally depends on your scalp, how oily it gets, and how well it tolerates being oily. An influencer can’t tell you how often you should wash your hair, because that’s a very individual thing. When I was only washing my hair 2x per week, I ended up with seborrheic dermatitis, major fallout, and other problematic changes in my hair. My dermatologist told me to start washing my hair every other day, and all of my problems cleared up. If you tend to get oily pretty quickly, then washing your hair everyday is totally fine. If your hair stays clean/dry longer, you can wait to wash it until it gets a little bit greasy. If an influencer is trying to give you a hard and fast rule, they don’t really know what they’re talking about, to be honest 🤷🏻♀️
Washing every day isn’t bad for your skin (scalp). It’s bad for your hair. That’s why a dermatologist would say that daily washing is good. For your skin/scalp, it’s fine. For your hair, not so much.
Thank you! I find it very difficult to put down over $100 on shampoo/conditioner. I just can’t bring myself to do it. So I appreciate a financially conscious recommendation. ❤❤❤

For me, the only category i buy high end is deep conditioning masks and bond repair treatment. Any other categories, i feel the drugstore has good options. I could probably go drugstore for hair masks, buy i am pretty obsessed with Briogeo's 😂
I say that it all depends on your hair. I have straight hair that never gets frizzy or anything…I can wake up and not even brush it and it looks decent. I can use both drugstore and high end hair products successfully, whereas others can’t. We all have different issues and goals that we want to achieve with our hair, therefore, it’s not a one size fits all situation.
I started using not your mothers bonding line and my hair has never been better. I’ve used all the super expensive brands and this is the only thing that has helped my hair at all.
Abby i have to tell you, I'm a guy and had very wavy healthy hair up until september when i first got a bad haircut and decided that while i wait for it to grow back out i would dye it for fun and lemme tell you i DESTROYED my hair and ended up losing about 70% of it on my crown but with your haircare tips especially the coconut oil one I've been able to grow it back out faster!
My go to is the Herbal Essence Rose Hips because it makes my hair incredibly silky and soft. I have stubborn curls/waves and I've used so many other products that just don't work. Including high end salon brands.
And drug store shampoos help you get the most out of high end ones! I've been using the Pantene Volume for almost two months now and I love how easy it lathers up! Then I only have to use a little bit of Morrocanoil shampoo for my second wash 😊
Your hair Recs are what’s keeping me alive rn. I’ve always has really thick and curly hair but just got a new job and have been blowing it out for the last couple of months and completely messed up my hair. Trying to cut and heal it but I’m also trying to prevent future damage thank you
I've experienced both bad and good at the drugstore.. the kristin Ess products are really good for the price.. I don't like the Pantene but I've never used that one myself and do like not your mothers.. a good dry shampoo too! But I always used the L'Oréal ones in that tube .. not bad but I still think the higher end ones are better.. but then I only wash my hair once a week.. thanks for the advice!
I don't know if it is a drug store shampoo but suave curl professional is the best I found for my hair . Ot really works. And the conditioner is so hydrating. The combination made my curls so bouncy and it doesn't frizz even in 80 per humidity.
My favorite is the mielle brand hair treatment and their other products. I have superfine hair that tangels and breaks so easily. The strengthening mask make is so my hair doesn't tangel at all. In fact it is the only mask I've used that lifts oil residue from my scalp enough that I can wait a couple days to shampoo. I always condition and use leave in too but this treatment was a God send.
Shampoo is the easy part. Find me great conditioner for bleached hair (that you can easily comb through while wet) at the drugstore and you’ve found a unicorn.
I have long curly bleached hair and use Keratin hair mask by Kallos cosmetics is 5€ for a big ass tube and i find it very good especially for combing with it in (my hair tangles terribly). It also helps with the frizzines and dryness bleach gives
I use drugstore hair masks for conditioning my bleached hair. Of course never near the scalp/roots. My hair dresser was surprised how healthy my hair is despite it being bleached and me using a flat iron every day. It’s definitely because of the hair mask for conditioner hack. Before I started doing this my hair would fall out if I bleached it
I have *EXTREMELY OILY HAIR* (if I wash i one morning with in 12-24 hours, it’s disgustingly oily again) that Pantene you showed I have been using for a while now and lemme tell you, I’ve gone like 5 *days* without any oil at all. I’m not saying it’ll be like that for everyone but if nothings worked for you, trust me and try it out
Right! I swear most shampoos don’t even clean my hair good but whatever my hair stylist uses or her technique I can go five days😭. I’m like maybe I don’t just have oily hair and my hair isn’t being cleaned enough from the shampoos. I remember being in middle school and going a week and thought that my hormones changed or something😭. The best ones I’ve tried is the k18 and the ouai detox but even those I can only make it three days and my scalp is irritating. I know last time my stylist used the it’s a 10 so I’m going to try that and a hard water filter cause my dream is to have hair that light and go that long without my scalp being itchy and heavy feeling. I wish I could use the Pantene but I get keratin treatments so I can’t use sulfates :(
Tbh, as someone who used drugstore hair products for their whole life, i would say that switching to professional shampoos, conditioners and leave in products was a game changer! once u switch to high end it's difficult to get back to cheap prodcuts because they preform way better and last longer!
@@light-tk3pj You should use products that match your hair type, mine is dry. I'm currently using a set from the brand Morrocanoil that contains a shampoo, a conditioner, and a leave in conditioner. Also it's important to use a hair serum/oil after these steps to maintain frizz, i personally go for the L'Oreal extraordinary oil. Hope this helps😊
@@ErZi-uo7fmThat’s where I’m at right now. I spent like 10 years trying to find a high end brand of shampoo and conditioner that actually worked for me. My hair was never really happy with any of them. Paul Mitchell was probably the best, but still just kind of average. I’m not 100% committed to any drugstore shampoo/conditioner just yet, but so far L’oreal has been making my hair feel the best it has felt in YEARS.
Im the opposite! I’m a cosmetologist who tired expensive haircare for years but the thing that works best for my fine flat hair is from the drugstore 😢😂
I would love to see you review the ingredients of some shampoos that are marketed for equine use. Like Mane n Tail and Cowboy Magic! Mane n Tail is all over drug stores now and I personally love Cowboy Magic!
I think people need to understand that all hair is different, and as such, all products are different. There is no 'one size' when it comes to hair care. Just like how one drug store conditioner might be bad for your hair, a luxery brand might also be terrible. Its all about products, and sometimes, just the formula is perfect for you. If you have a product that works for you, no matter how cheap or expensive, its what works for you.
I tried the L’Oréal Repair series and the Hyaluron series, they done nothing but made me half bald. I’m sure they worked wonders for some but not for my scalp. I gave them 5 washes in total within the course of 1 month and each time I wash my hair with these, SHEDDING! So I knew it was the formulation and ingredients that didn’t agree with my scalp!
The thing with hair influencers is they find what works for their hair specifically, but then advertise as if it’s universal. For me high-end products, (and believe me I tried so many,) dry or frizz both my virgin and process hair. BUT! I know that it is specifically because of my genetics on how my hair uniquely is. I now stick with drugstore and a few Japanese brands. Other than you, I pretty much made it a habit of skipping almost every hair influencer. I appreciate that you speak on practicality considering chemistry and share results from others you have seen, rather than just because it works for you. I have thick oily hair, and tried the first recommended shampoo here, and gotta admit it is amazing on my end. It left it feeling moisturized and seemed so gentle. I’m kinda addicted to it, and it’s nice smell. 😊
Yah, I do not trust this review at all. Most generic store bought shampoos contain harsh and toxic ingredients. Pantene, dove, etc, garbage products likely containing endocrine disrupting ingredients. Will they wash and do the job, probably, but they may also cause you other unrelated issues. Your skin is the largest organ on your body and absorbs everything that touches it. But, hey, I’m sure some people still believe that’s a conspiracy.
@@anniebell6846probably but Pantene is literally the worst on the market. The only shampoo that made my healthy soft hair feel like straw and the breakage was insane.
I LOVE kristen ess. When i was 10 I started noticing acne around my forehead and hairline. I googled what it could mean. Found out my cheap $1 shampoo + conditioner may be the problem. I decided to use Kristen ess. For no reason. And To this day. It has treated my skin, and hair sooo well. I love it.
Not Your Mothers, is a trusted brand, for me. Will check out that clarifying shampoo. I do a deep conditioner after every shampoo. Once a month I use a clarifying product. My curls need heavier conditioner and a monthly clarify.
I use Suave’s daily clarifying shampoo once a week along with their smooth performer conditioner and afterward on towel dried hair I use OGX extra strength miracle coconut oil leave in treatment and my hair is the healthiest it has EVER been in my life. Don’t sleep on drugstore products. They are a fraction of the price and perform 20x better than any salon or high end hair product you can buy!
All modern shampoos are formulated pretty much the same way: A primary surfactant, a secondary surfactant or foam builder, a pH adjuster, conditioners, colorants, preservatives.
I was just talking to my mom about you yesterday saying you know all things hair and you’re the only hair care influencer I trust but I hadn’t seen your videos in ages! I started seeing them again today :D not sure if that’s my phone listening to me or just me manifesting but I’ll take it!
I used to buy high end. I decided to look at my expenses and first cut was anything high end. Skincare is the exception. I think my hair looks better now with drugstore shampoo.
I tried the apple cider vinegar because I heard so many great things about it. Sadly, it did not work for me. My hair would look oily on the same day I washed it with that shampoo.
Luxury hair products are NOT sold in drug stores. When you see Paul Mitchell at Walgreen it’s another company that has licensed the name but the formulas ARE DIFFERENT. If you buy a bottle at a licensed salon the bottle SAYS it’s authentic and the real deal bc the real deal is ONLY found in salons. Same for many other brands, Paul Mitchell is just a well know example. Even the bottle and wording on them is different.
My fave shampoo is VO5 and costs me a whopping $.85 at Walmart. My hair feels soft and silky and I get tons of compliments….PLUS there are SOOOO many yummy scents that are amazing!!
As a Blk Woman with natural hair, I can attest to the quality of Kristen Ess products. The scalp purifying micellar shampoo is amazing. I first got it for my lil sis who has the type of flakes you can peel off in pretty large sheets. I parted her hair, applied it to the scalp, used the det.brush to massage it in, rwd repeat a few times, running the lather through the length of her hair on the last one. It do wonders for her scalp, but she also had a lot of buildup that made her hair look dull, and her curls look course n tight - she's a kinda 3c/4a mix. It worked wonders there too. It got rid of the buildup without stripping her hair, and her curls came back to life.
When should I used a clarifying shampoo vs non-clarifying shampoos? Can you create a video on that? Like use clarifying once a week or two weeks? And use the non-clarifying every day?
I use Neutrogena grapefruit shampoo as a clarifying shampoo and, at one time, apple cider vinegar shampoo. Grapefruit was very good. Still use it occasionally
I color my hair and use the L’Oréal EverPure based on my stylist’s recommendation. As I recall, it doesn’t contain sulfates which were impacting the color between visits.
I've used drug store shampoo for a very long time and this year I switched to a high end product and the difference is significant, not all high end products are better but some really are, and I also realized that I don't need to use as much peoduct with this shampoo and my hair stays clean longer so the price difference is minimal

THE LOREAL BOND REPAIR SHAMPOO SHE SHOWED HAS LITERALLY CHANGED MY HAIR OVERNIGHT. I ALSO USE THE MATCHING CONDITIONER. I HEAT STYLE MY HAIR AFTER AND IT FEELS LIKE SILK. I USE ITS A 10 LEAVE IN HEAT PROTECTANT MIXED WITH A LIGHTWEIGHT OIL THEN BRUSH MY HAIR ABD BLOWDRY. THEN WHEN MY HAIR IS DRY I USE LOREAL SLEEK IT HEAT PROTECTANT ON MY DRY HAIR ENDS AND COMB IT THROUGH. AT THIS POINT MY HAIR FEELS SILKY BUT I DO RUN A STRAIGHTENER OVER THE FRIZZY PIECES WITH THE TEMP AT 300. WHEN ITS DONE ITS LITERALLY LIKE SILK 🤯 ON THE ENDS I ADD MORE OIL AND USE A PEA SIZE OF SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT SMOOTHING CREAM AS WELL. MY HAIR SMELLS SO GOOD AND HAS NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD!
For many years I used one specific drug store shampoo and my hair was amazing. As in no damage, weightless (which was odd because I have so much hair), soft, silky, smooth, shiny etc etc. I had at least 5 solid days of amazing hair with this shampoo/conditioner. Then as the pandemic came along they stopped carrying it in stores. And videos like these started coming along telling me I needed to buy more expensive “top notch” shampoos/conditioners. So I tried. Honestly, what a monumental waste of my time and money. My hair was frumpy, oily way too quick, frizzy, lacking any type of luster or natural volume, my scalp was smelly and the lost goes on. People need to just use what makes their hair amazing and keeps it healthy. Also, LOVE the not your mothers. That’s a great second best!
I use Selsun blue to clarify, then Kirsten ess purple shampoo and conditioner followed by not your mothers purple mask. I also use Monday moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Every expensive shampoo I've used, including every salon I've been too, I'm allergic to. Its a mild allergy, just itchy scalp and bumps that go away if I avoid the allergen. I just find it very amusing when people try to push the expensive brands that give me the same effect as the dollar store brands. Dove, Pantene, Loreal, and Head and Shoulders have always been safe ❤
I don’t know what it is but Pantine moisture renewal does amazing with my hair, like better than some salon brand i’ve used. I think I just found a lucky match. I still use my redkin clarifying shampoo every few washes with a hair mask… but that’s more to pamper myself of to deal with product buildup when I use hairspray
I used to swear by the Pantene volume shampoo..and then I got sucked into the whole “drugstore is not good for you” couple years later and a lot of money wasted…I still adore the Pantene and switch it up every now and then but it’s a fantastic product.
I just bought a bottle of kristen ness a few days ago and it made my hair literally squeaky clean. Im talking my hair squeaked when i rubbed my hands over it after rinsing the suds off in the shower. I've also noticed my scalp doesnt feel like it has sebum build up since a washing it a few days ago. Ive only used it once, but am already noticing a difference.
I use Selsun blue to clarify, then Kirsten ess purple shampoo and conditioner followed by not your mothers purple mask. I also use Monday moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Your recommendations have made significant improvements to my hair that even others have noticed. ❤ could you please recommend a clarifying shampoo for dandruff caused by seborrheic dermatitis?
M allergic to so many shampoos and anti dandruff always causes dandruff or dry scalp aussie and tresseme are the worst for me, pantene doesn't cause me much reaction and works for me so I'll stick to it
I am not studying hair care science but I do love the pure zero stregthening shampoo. You can get it at target and I also love the kristin ness purple shampoo and conditioner when i was silver blond. The shampoo never made my hair dry. And it was legitimately the only purple shampoo and conditioner that I noticed immediate results after using it.
I have curly, coloured hair and almost all of the products I use are from the drugstore or Walmart. The only thing that isn’t is the colour-depositing shampoo my hairdresser suggested to keep my blue looking its best
I don’t know why but I’ve tried those gentle shampoos for 2/3 years and it worked but my hair wasn’t very amazing. I got kinda scared to use fragrance and silicones that are in a lot of shampoos bcs I have sensitieve skin and struggle with acne. It left my hair very plain and dry no matter how much conditioner I would use, it didn’t lather very nice with a lot of brands. Then I bought TIGI bed head shampoo and conditioner it’s supposed to be the worst shampoo according to the ingredients full of silicone and fragrance and my hair is gorgeous😅. I only have to wash it once a week and it’s very silky and heavy, my ponytail is 1/3 thicker now. I don’t have any idea how and I do want to point out that I haven’t changed anything other than the shampoo and conditioner I use, but my point is: don’t worry to much about where you buy your shampoo and from what brand it is, just give it a try sometimes you’ll find what works for you and that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the same as other people on the internet. It’s also possible your going through some hormonal changes and your hair isn’t feeling it bcs of that. Don’t put the blame on yourself to much, it’s sometimes just a stage you have to go trough and will eventually clear up. For example: In summer I like to swim a lot and even when protecting and all the tips and advice from the internet it still makes my hair shit after 2 weeks of constant swimming and you know what: idc imma swim and just chop a big part of after. I like to think that the stress relief from swimming or from using a shampoo that smells really good is also a factor that plays a role. Like I said don’t stress to much enjoy life, have fun you will find what works for you eventually. ❤
Pantene volume shampoo/conditioner and dove dermacare antidandruff shampoo fixed my oily scalp. The money I saved I used it to buy the Oribe hair cream and ny hair looks, feels soft shiny and healthy
I have yet to have a good experience with high end shampoos. Color safe ones stripped my hair so bad. I had to chop my hair and couldn't have colored hair until i finished it. Honestly, my hair looks and feels great with my drugstore products
I used shampoos geared specifically for curly hair. My hair became brittle, dry, lifeless, etc. I went back to using drugstore shampoo and my favorite Suave coconut conditioner. Never going back.
I hate how some influencers just be sheeting on Suave, even though that company is taking the steps to improve their brand. Just recently they took the step of taking their Not Tested on Animals to the next level and even pulled their brand out of nations which forces testing on animals laws, so the Suave stuff you'll see in animal testing nations are just older bottles that were overstoked , while the newer bottles sold here in the US are the new improved policy brand that no longer abuses animals and they are taking steps to provide fair wages for their workers. I love that for them, because Suave isn't an expensive brand and it is a good product to use ... their bigger shampoo and conditioner are under $2. I just feel that inexpensive overcounter products get sheeted on too much, so thank you lady for standing up for us poorer folks who can't buy the big name brand expensive goop. Bless you.
I follow blowout professor and his advice and routine and after trying so many products his routine and products has worked best for me. And im not going back because my hair looks and feels amazing. And he does not recommend drugstore shampoos at all. And i kinda agree because i grew up using many different drugstore shampoos and nothing was good tbh made my scalp oily and ends dry which is opposite of what i want. I haven't tried the specfic ones she's mentioned but i probably wont be going back unless i have to.
I have sensitive skin so I use whatever doesn't give me a rash. That tends to be hair products from health food stores, since both professional and drugstore hair products tend to give me a rash. So I guess I'm saying that yeah, they're probably the same since I can't use either of them lol.
In fact, the drug store brands are in the market because they pass the US standards and regulatory laws. Who knows if the products sold in salons and catalogs have the same standards..
Hair salons people always talk about how much the salon products are better ingredients and will even last longer. Can you please weigh in on why? Thank you for reading this!
If you have super oily scalp and you clarify you know the oil comes back TEN TIMES. The sebum isn’t balanced. Just like acne based precuts stripping your skin barrier and making it drier so y that it pulls in more dirt
Kristen Ess is hands down my most favourite shampoo ive everr tried. I'm so upset the store near me stopped selling it. But wow, I didn't even realise it was drugstore☺️ it's that good! I only have a tiny bit left, so i save it for special occasions like my birthday & Christmas! 🤏🏼😂
I noticed that when I was young I could do with most drugstore shampoos but now that Im old and post menopausal, my hair is new to me have to be very patient and rediscover it and treat it accordingly. And have to buy high end hair care. But not any hair care , have to try em, and it was a frustrating thing. But now Im seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and my hair its getting healthier. But it was no drugstore hair care system.
Everyone is different but! I tried high end hair care because I fried my hair off over bleaching it and wanted to try and bring it back. It always made my hair so frizzy and dry for 3 years. I tried multiple brands and different products. I saw a video she posted about drug store and decided I would try decided to give "Hask" a try. I know she didn't mention it but I remember using it in the past so I figured I would start there and oh my god. Literally transformed my hair. Never going back to high end. Waste of money and saw no results. Again, everyone is different so it might not work for you but I know it worked for me
Hey I have thyroiditis and it affects my hair texture and I would like you to look into that because there's literally nobody that knows anything about what to do to fix your hair whenever you have thyroiditis thanks love you Hope it blesses you as much as it would me 🎉
it all depends on your needs y'all!! just research your hair type and scalp. compare the stuff in the expensive shampoos and find them in the cheaper stuff. ugh.
Can you recommend other drugstore shampoo? I couldn’t find the Loreal Ever Pure in my country. I’m from Europe and Olaplex and Kerastase are just too expensive for my budget 😅
I use dermaveen shampoo and conditioner and a drugstore hair mask. I like the Garnier/ maui/ loreal whatever is on special. My scalp is fairly sensitive so using drugstore or high end shampoo/conditioners makes my scalp itchy if I use them long term. Just use whatever you think is best for you. I personally don't really see much difference with high end shampoos or conditioner's. It's an about the hair mask!!
It's just that most drugstore ones contain SLS and idc if it's marketed as "clarifying" if I want it to be that "clarifying" I might as well use dish soap

It’s really just marketing. Really nothing special about it!
Packaging, fragrance, etc is a huge part of what you're paying for with professional lines. And mass market products are often slightly more diluted.
I am 75 years old and I believe everything that this young girl has to say I have had hair that was so dry and so thin my whole life that I think it could stab someone lol since I listen to her and her advice about coconut oil the L'Oreal you leave shampoos the eight water wonder water and the things the drugstore things that she has told us about my hair is the most beautiful thing on my body right now thanks to her God bless❤

For me, the only category i buy high end is deep conditioning masks and bond repair treatment. Any other categories, i feel the drugstore has good options. I could probably go drugstore for hair masks, buy i am pretty obsessed with Briogeo's 😂
That’s how I see it. I prefer medicated shampoo and then a fancy hair mask.
Yep! I'll spend for my leave in conditioner but my normal shampoo is Head and Shoulders bc i have dandruff and it works well for me
I say that it all depends on your hair.
Straight hair isn’t a hair type
@@jociir2650 I was describing my hair.
@@jociir2650nobody said there hair type is straight dude
I totally agree with you! It 100% depends on your hair type. I’m still searching for the perfect shampoo and conditioner for me
@@jociir2650as a matter of fact, straight hair is a hair type :)
I started using not your mothers bonding line and my hair has never been better. I’ve used all the super expensive brands and this is the only thing that has helped my hair at all.
what all do you use from them? what is your favorite/s?!
I love Aussie moist. It makes my hair feel AMAZING and my hair feels, looks sooo healthy.
❤I am so glad I found your video’s! To hear you say the words Obsessed and Hair Science warms my heart! Finally and Thank you 😊🎉
I don't know if it is a drug store shampoo but suave curl professional is the best I found for my hair .
@@vixen_0072yes i love that one
I use drugstore hair masks for conditioning my bleached hair. Of course never near the scalp/roots. My hair dresser was surprised how healthy my hair is despite it being bleached and me using a flat iron every day. It’s definitely because of the hair mask for conditioner hack. Before I started doing this my hair would fall out if I bleached it
Not all hair can b combed thru wet, no matter the conditioner 🖐️
Mine for instance, too fine
Alba Botanica More Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
I have *EXTREMELY OILY HAIR* (if I wash i one morning with in 12-24 hours, it’s disgustingly oily again) that Pantene you showed I have been using for a while now and lemme tell you, I’ve gone like 5 *days* without any oil at all. I’m not saying it’ll be like that for everyone but if nothings worked for you, trust me and try it out
I neeed thiiis!!! All of these shampoos talking about adding “shine” to your hair… no thank you I have plenty.
I wish I could use the Pantene but I get keratin treatments so I can’t use sulfates :(
I started using Suave 5 years ago and I love it. I use Suave with keratin for color tested and color treated hair.
Tbh, as someone who used drugstore hair products for their whole life, i would say that switching to professional shampoos, conditioners and leave in products was a game changer! once u switch to high end it's difficult to get back to cheap prodcuts because they preform way better and last longer!
What do you use?
@@Sammvoy I also have fine and flat hair….so I would love to know what works for you since I am still struggling to find a shampoo that I like.
That Pantene shampoo is amazing! My hair always looks nice when it use it - nicer than when I use the expensive stuff!
What conditioner do you use with it please?
And yet my hair stylist told me to never use Pantene products.
Because they want you to buy their super expensive products?
@@anniebell6846probably but Pantene is literally the worst on the market. The only shampoo that made my healthy soft hair feel like straw and the breakage was insane.
@@anniebell6846 no. I use love beauty and planet
This is used like once a month so it’s not as bad as it seems
John Frieda volume is divine! I absolutely love it and easily refuse to use anything else.
I don’t have the money for expensive shampoo , I already shop for groceries at the dollar store so thank you for being so honest
Love the Kristin Ess brand and it smells amazing thanks Abby for that recommendation
Can you please do a video on purple/ silver shampoos that actually work
I LOVE kristen ess. When i was 10 I started noticing acne around my forehead and hairline. I googled what it could mean. Found out my cheap $1 shampoo + conditioner may be the problem. I decided to use Kristen ess. For no reason. And To this day. It has treated my skin, and hair sooo well. I love it.
I get that acne around my hairline from products too😭. It’s so hard to avoid anything that has any oils or lipids in it
I use hask and it makes my hair feel super healthy
Not Your Mothers, is a trusted brand, for me. Will check out that clarifying shampoo. I do a deep conditioner after every shampoo. Once a month I use a clarifying product. My curls need heavier conditioner and a monthly clarify.
Abbey! I purchased the Pantene volume and body shampoo. Holy cow this shampoo makes my hair so much softer and shinier
So far Head and Shoulders in sandalwood has been working for me. I like the spicier scents rather than flowery scents.
Omggggg your hair is literal perfection
Omg i love you for this
All modern shampoos are formulated pretty much the same way: A primary surfactant, a secondary surfactant or foam builder, a pH adjuster, conditioners, colorants, preservatives.
Aveeno shampoos are really good too
I tried the apple cider vinegar because I heard so many great things about it. Sadly, it did not work for me. My hair would look oily on the same day I washed it with that shampoo.
Hairitage saved my hair. My hair changed after chemo. Now its so much better with this line. Loreal is good too
Luxury hair products are NOT sold in drug stores.
V05 is bad
@@chloeanderson2658what about it is bad
People, her hair is proof she is right!
Suave clarifying shampoo👌💕 use after heavy styling and/or a few times a year. Focusing mainly on scalp.
I've used drug store shampoo for a very long time and this year I switched to a high end product and the difference is significant, not all high end products are better but some really are, and I also realized that I don't need to use as much peoduct with this shampoo and my hair stays clean longer so the price difference is minimal
@@luv1nartfrem the drug store I've used mostly pantene, fructis and also Garnier....now I use System professional ( ketatin protect shampoo), I do a Fist wash with a Little amount of product to remove the oils, dirt etc... then a second wash with a Little bit more product I message It till It foams and I leave It on for 5-7 minutes and then I wash really well

M allergic to so many shampoos and anti dandruff always causes dandruff or dry scalp aussie and tresseme are the worst for me, pantene doesn't cause me much reaction and works for me so I'll stick to it
the kristen ess is so good
I am not studying hair care science but I do love the pure zero stregthening shampoo. You can get it at target and I also love the kristin ness purple shampoo and conditioner when i was silver blond. The shampoo never made my hair dry. And it was legitimately the only purple shampoo and conditioner that I noticed immediate results after using it.
In my country there is hardly any beauty shops it’s just pharmacy’s (drugstore) one of my fav brands are Pantene
I love the pink lordal its amazing and I like it better than my pureology shampoo and conditioner!!!! Thats about a 20$ difference in 1 bottle
Thank you so much for debunking this!!
I'm a hairstylist so i can buy the shampoos and conditioners i like for the same or less than some of the things you showed.
The garnier fruitis apple shampoo and conditioner is incredibly 😆also made my hair grow fast🤯
Love your videos!
Thanks for this resume
I have sensitive skin so I use whatever doesn't give me a rash. That tends to be hair products from health food stores, since both professional and drugstore hair products tend to give me a rash. So I guess I'm saying that yeah, they're probably the same since I can't use either of them lol.
Have you found the ingredient you react to? For me it took a few months but it was phenoxyethanol
I love the sassy “nooo they’re not” 😂😂😂😂
I use Kristin Ess and I love it!!!
I’ve started using the L’Oréal one; my hair has never felt so soft.
I love all Kristen Esse products!!!
Again, everyone is different so it might not work for you but I know it worked for me
Just use vinegar rinse for bonding! You don't jeed expensive crap to do thid. Vinegar is acetic acid whih is exactly what's in bonding products.
L’Oréal has the Elvive version of the bonding line which I love, the Ever Pure line is US only I’m afraid!
It's an about the hair mask!!
did you forget to mention,,any Pantene shampoo or conditioner
strips hair colour
I’d love to find a good drugstore shampoo/conditioner for my ridiculously dry scalp.
It's just that most drugstore ones contain SLS and idc if it's marketed as "clarifying" if I want it to be that "clarifying" I might as well use dish soap
Any Dove is my go to
