I recall in 1975 I found an odd looking album under my older bothers bed. I was 15. The album was a bunch of "B" sides or other songs - put onto an album for the Radio Stations to hear. It was a plain blue cover. I gave it a listen - and I don't remember any songs on that album, except one. There was a song on that album entitled, "Fountain of Sorrow", by a musician I'd never heard of, JB. That song resonated into my soul. It helped me through some very tough times in my life. . I listened to it over an over - and through the years, over and over more. Thank you Mr. Browne for helping me through my life.
Wow, that's one of the best versions of that song I have ever heard. Jackson's voice is so rich and powerful, Mark Goldenberg's guitar playing so amazing and flawless. Thanks to the fantastic camera work and incredible close ups by Alan Kozlowski we can watch this masterpiece.
100%, and I’m utterly defenseless in the presence of each of Jackson’s personal hall of fame of top shelf guitarists in his touring band and in the studio. In this performance, meek and mild in appearance, Mr. Goldenberg, morphs into Mr. Goldentone to demonstrate how to milk tones from aTelecaster that make grown men “cry for happy”.
Jackson, in late, 2023, is still totally on top of his game. He may be 75, however my wife and I enjoyed his show on November 23, in Melbourne, far more than past shows. Perhaps the absolute 💯 band and vocalists helped, however his voice was just great. Get to see him if you can, you will long remember the concert.
I got to see him twice in 1972 in Bryn Mawr , PA. ( a coffee house ) and at " The Lakeland Civic Center " in 1976 where at the end of the show the song " Stay " played on and on for what seemed 10 mins. so that the roadies had to come up and throw a blanket around him and carry him off the stage . Awsome
Best mix of this song. And it's only a soundcheck! Wish he would have sang the whole thing, but that's ok. Guitar solo was absolutely amazing... and the vocals were blended so well and spot on.
Mark Goldenberg is as tasty & toneful a pro electric guitar as there is, an understated, and, by the general public, anyway, under-rated, musician of the 1st order
Hello to whoever is receiving this message , I assume it is not Jackson itself but I will write it to him regardless. If you aren’t the man himself if you could pass this message on it would be greatly appreciated. Hello Jackson , my name is Matthew Cullen , I am 23 and I live in Belfast , Ireland. My father called Gerry Cullen, has been one of your biggest most dedicated fans for most of his adult life . He is constantly listening to your music , playing your songs on guitar and he even has a customised phone cover with your face on it! Unfortunately , this year my father was diagnosed with the incurable, degenerative disease known as Parkinson’s. I know this is a long shot , but would there be any chance that you could send a quick video message to him wishing him a happy Christmas , I really believe that it would completely make his Christmas his year and in all honestly maybe his life! In the meantime I hope you are keeping well yourself . In anticipation , Matt
Looking through some photographs I found inside a drawer I was taken by a photograph of you There were one or two I know that you would have liked a little more But they didn't show your spirit quite as true You were turning 'round to see who was behind you And I took your childish laughter by surprise And at the moment that my camera happened to find you There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes Now, the things that I remember seem so distant and so small Though it hasn't really been that long a time What I was seeing wasn't what was happening at all Although for a while our path did seem to climb When you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger While the loneliness seems to spring from your life Like a fountain from a pool Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight You've had to hide sometimes, but now you're all right And it's good to see your smiling face tonight Now, for you and me it may not be that hard to reach our dreams But that magic feeling never seems to last And all the future's there for anyone to change, still you know it seems It would be easier sometimes to change the past I'm just one or two years and a couple of changes behind you In my lessons at love's pain and heartache school Where if you feel too free and you need something to remind you There's this loneliness springing up from your life Like a fountain from a pool Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight You've had to hide sometimes, but now you're all right And it's good to see your smiling face tonight Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight You've had to struggle, you've had to fight To keep understanding and compassion in sight You could be laughing at me, you've got the right But you go on smiling so clear and so bright
Hi Ray, this is a clip from a soundcheck (which is to check the sound, I believe? Lol I am no expert) I think they are just giving fans the opportunity to get a look “behind the scenes” ... “pay no attention to that man behind the curtain” 😉

Tears me up too.
I truly believe that this is one of the most beautiful pieces of song and lyrics ever written. No one else can write the kind of music that JB does!!
Right on...no one can but him
@@people4peace999 So it's nice to find another JB lover. Have you ever seen him in concert?

My favorite Jackson song. Im sure Im not the only one. He always has the best way of capturing a moment and making it a lifetime.
This was a great concert - it was on Jackson's birthday... I was there as a birthday gift given to me as I am the1st of October- great show
Lucky and special. I got to see him a few years ago...great despite a bad venue. The band and backup singers deserved much better.
Can hardly wait. You...James T.
Gonna be a great night
You come on smiling so clear and so bright

Matt, I hope JB sees this as I’m sure he would take the time to send a video. I have my fingers crossed for you my friend. Best, R.

Cool stuff
RIP - David Lindley 🖤
Does anyone have a complete video of the July 3, 2019 Wolftrap show?
I have some videos; are you looking for a certain song?

Does anyone know the brand and model of the keyboard that Jackson Browne is playing in this performance? Thanks in advance.
❤️🎶
I listened to this song endless time after my first divorce trying to make sense of the whole thing.
The whole I'm Alive album for me.
@@patrickpower3992 Me, Late For the Sky.
Me too
Why do we have to watch the guitarist instead of Jackson? I came here for Jackson Browne.
xxxxx
My heart just sank a little when this video showed Jackson Browne practicing his lip syncing ability. Say it ain't so.
It's a sound check, he was saving his voice.
Prachtig nummer van JB
Where is David Lindley
A fountain,a endless flood of pain from my only divorce.
How bout a smile tonight, Ken? It's Independence Day. Sending sympathy and good will.
Where's Dave Lintfree?
Sad to see him lose it
Looking through some photographs I found inside a drawer
I was taken by a photograph of you
There were one or two I know that you would have liked a little more
But they didn't show your spirit quite as true
You were turning 'round to see who was behind you
And I took your childish laughter by surprise
And at the moment that my camera happened to find you
There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes
Now, the things that I remember seem so distant and so small
Though it hasn't really been that long a time
What I was seeing wasn't what was happening at all
Although for a while our path did seem to climb
When you see through love's illusions, there lies the danger
And your perfect lover just looks like a perfect fool
So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger
While the loneliness seems to spring from your life
Like a fountain from a pool
Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light
You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight
You've had to hide sometimes, but now you're all right
And it's good to see your smiling face tonight
Now, for you and me it may not be that hard to reach our dreams
But that magic feeling never seems to last
And all the future's there for anyone to change, still you know it seems
It would be easier sometimes to change the past
I'm just one or two years and a couple of changes behind you
In my lessons at love's pain and heartache school
Where if you feel too free and you need something to remind you
There's this loneliness springing up from your life
Like a fountain from a pool
Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light
You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight
You've had to hide sometimes, but now you're all right
And it's good to see your smiling face tonight
Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light
You've known that hollow sound of your own steps in flight
You've had to struggle, you've had to fight
To keep understanding and compassion in sight
You could be laughing at me, you've got the right
But you go on smiling so clear and so bright
Great artist, unusual for him to forget lyrics....

What is the point? Sing the damn song Jackson. Or go away!

It was filmed at a soundcheck (and, if you actually listen to it, it was a great, great version of an amazing song!)
Wow, what a dickhead you are
This song is about his relationship with Joni Mitchell. Beautiful
