- In my mid teens “Late For The Sky” was my favourite album. I got to see Jackson Browne on his first Australian tour in 1977 but not since. I was tempted in 2018 but was worried how his voice might be after all these years. Since then I’ve regretted not going to concerts by too many musicians who have since died that now when one of my heroes tours I see them regardless. In Jackson’s case I had no reason to worry. After 50 years of singing, his voice is still sounding fine. And as was to be expected, he was surrounded by a band of first rate musicians.
The setlist included 22 songs spanning Jackson’s 15 albums, a real showcase of his song-writing abilities. Most of my selections however, were taken from his early years:

My one regret was that the title song of that beloved album from my teenage years wasn’t played. I suspect it missed out when an audience request for “Cocaine” was added impromptu.
This concert was originally scheduled for April, following his appearance at Bluesfest. Unfortunately, while in Australia Jackson caught covid and the Sydney and Melbourne concerts couldn’t go ahead. It was a clear sign of how important his fans are to him that Jackson made the long journey back eight months later to finish the tour. His Sydney fans certainly appreciated it.

Nice videography and editing! When I saw him in 2022, I barely bothered looking at my phone while holding next to my head occasionally, so seeing good camera work like yours is a treat! That's the first time I've heard Val play Too Many Angels (they didn't play it during the last few tours that I saw), I loved his solo there. Val's got all the chops but only tastefully serves the song with those chops.
It’s amazing how many comments reflect how I feel about this guy. Always throwing in to lend his voice to worthy causes. He’s been going strong, writing his own stuff since he’s been in the business. I named my son after him not only because it’s a great name but I wanted him to take his role on the planet seriously. There are few like Jackson Browne.
Thank you JACKSON BROWNE This concert on my 71st Birthday 1 December 1952. He is, in my opinion, one of the great singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalists/thought provoking lyricist and a social Voice of Conscience of the modern era.
I am 67, my husband and i are both going through cancer and i feel like the best part of life is behind us. One thing has stayed with me for decades, Jackson Browne. I love that man more than words can say. He is just as you described, he's so talented, so good, and so caring and to me he is special like no other. I'm so happy you got to see him, i have twice, in 78 and 04. I wish i could do it one more time.

Jackson Browne has so many well written and thought provoking songs. One of my very favorites is ‘Fountain of Sorrow’.

Your music has helped me heal and continues to pull me through. In my life i have laughed but as life will do i have cried many more times than laughed. Jackson has always given me moments of believing everything will be okay. He has a magic that i can't explain but he can bring me moments of peace when i need it most. These songs have me crying right now, he's always been my favorite songwriter, musician as well as being such a wonderful man. He has always been my #1 and will be until i do my own dance. Thank you Jackson for a lifetime of glorious music.

1972. An acquaintance. Definitely not a friend. Turning me on to Jackson was about the only good thing he ever did for me. I am thankful though. I’m sure that y’all have heard people say that some musician had changed their life. We’ll, here we go again. His music opened my eyes to the TRUTH about the world we live in. He IS the best songwriter in my lifetime. I’m a preacher and preached a message about The Pretender. We are all pretending we’ve got it figured out. I started preaching in 1982 and his truthful insights was a very powerful guidance to me.

Yes, I was surprised just how great he still sounds. As I wrote in my description, I didn't see him a few years ago because I was worried about how his voice might be these days. He made an impact on me also. Still sad that we lost D. Lindley recently. That man could play anything. He and Jackson were Magical on the Pretender. They had a chemistry that could draw you into the story. I sure hope we have JB for many more years. It will def break my heart when we lose him.

I was at this concert!! my 3rd time of listening to JB in concert - 1979 in Melbourne, 2004 at Bluesfest at Byron Bay and now 2023 at the wonderful Darling Harbour Theatre. JB and this marvellous band just blew us all away. Thank you so much for posting these clips.🙌

Thank you Peter. We flew from Adelaide to melbourne to see on November 29. Having had tickets from his cancelled Melbourne tour in April. We have seen Jackson on all his Australian tours. We are both 71 years old. Just brilliant as usual!
We saw the great man and his excellent band on Dec 2 at Sirromet QLD. A great night out with one of the icons of our era.

Jackson, it`s about time to visit your town of birth once again. I miss the Warren and the Dave very much, but some of the magic of that night still remains.Heidelberg, Germany, Dec 11 1976. I was 16 at that time, the road still ahead.

We gave him a reason to do just this when we (my son Jackson and I) caught up with him after his Melbourne concert 4 weeks ago. We were the ONLY PEOPLE whom he chose to meet with personally after the concert due to their severe covid protection protocols still in place, as we've met him before and he was excited to see how my son Jackson's music was coming along. We presented him with a gold Heidelberg coin that we had been given by a souvenir shop in Heidelberg back in April, after telling them that we would do this. Jackson was thrilled to receive the gold coin and his warmth for his birth town was obvious. We were again in Heidelberg just 9 days ago and showed the people in the shop a photo of how we'd achieved what we set out to do, and presented him with the coin! Pretty cool huh! @martinobrien5369

…You have either got it, or you just haven’t!….Jackson just remains so consistent, as he becomes even more innovative and challenging, as he retains his traditional ways of Rock ‘n’ Roll/Classic Rock.

I am a non native American, so you can understand the musicians names better than me!

I think the reason I didn't include them in the description was because I didn't know who was playing what. But anyone really keen can google them and hopefully find out more information.

I've seen Jackson many times, I seen him play live many times and once at a fundraiser he did cocaine rehab, and that helped me to kick my habit. But most of his music remind me of Love's that have come and gone. Thanks for posting it

Great concert! Thank you so much for sharing! Seems like part of the concert is missing? You mentioned it was 22 songs, s, so maybe you just decided to use these 7 songs? Either way, your recording is awesome! I have loved Jackson since the beginning of this career and have been fortunate to have seen in in concert 4 times.
I never record an entire concert. If I can, I decide which songs I want before hand. Sometimes this means I miss out on capturing a really outstanding rendition of a particular song, but then I get to experience it in real time, which is of course, how it's meant to be enjoyed.
