Kevin’s idea of being a loving father being sending his kids and wife out into the wild while only feeding himself interesting
He feed them just enough to survive, thats pure fatherly love in Kevins eyes. See how in his second go-round he only feed them, enough to survive, so he could use them. Thats another important part Kevins brand of love. The intent matters more that the actions that carry that intent. Doesnt matter that the children were treated just as badly in both playthoughs. In the first one he try to care from them. And thats whats important. Trying, even if you dont suceed. Even if you fail spectaculary (and kinda purposely), like Kevin, at least you tried.
Kevin is a genuine menace if we didn’t have video games to distract him we all would live in a basement with no escape

The irradiated wasteland helps build character. A good parent should give them that chance. Hell, in Kevins opinion, theres no greater parenthood than that.

"being a terrible parent" has flashbacks to Kevin his sims series, this sure is gonna go well
Dolores is hilarious! I'd love to see what a Sims 4 version of her would do with her kids. Make them do all the housework, cooking, and gardening probably.
OH MY GOD, yes. Actually...I've _made_ a Sims 4 version of this family! (The MacDoodles, in case you're wondering what their last name is.) They even also have both possible pets--Pancake the Dog and Sharikov the Cat. I should bust them out sometime in my current savegame. :)

YEEESSSS! When I saw this I was like "Oh my god, how did I not see this notification earlier? CLICK!" This game is PERFECT for someone like Kevin. It's snarky, deceptively funny but can also be hard, and you can in fact be a total d!ck in it! I mean, let's be honest--anything with the word "apocalypse" in the description + Kevin, is a match made in....somewhere. :P
Also, for anyone wondering: The other game is called "60 Parsecs" and yes, it's made by the same people. Yep.

I'd sooner take my chances outside than in a cooped up basement living on beans and trapped with 3 other people farting up the place
That should be an ending. The family eats too many beans and stink up the place, then they decide to go die in the nuclear wasteland because radiation poisoning is better than smelling the combined bean filled farts of 3 people
But it's tomato soup.
Actually, radiation is pretty easy to protect youself from. Get a Geiger counter and get away from any places or anything that causes spikes. Also you might need a full hazmat suit in the early days when there's still fallout. Dust shouldn't be a problem long-term if you aren't living in a desert. Nuclear apocalypses are quite overrated. There are people living in Hiroshima and Nagasaki after all and the nuclear winter hypothesis has been debunked as the brain fart it is.

This is one of those games i sat down to play and then 6 hours of my life had disappeared. Love this game and its sequel, after playing I had hoped to see kevin take out his whimsy on this game, did not disappoint at all. Love the vids kevin, thank you for being here.

To be fair, neglecting your family's needs during a nuclear apocalypse is the plot of fallout 4 as well.
Kevin finds interesting new ways to neglect his kids every week!

Kevin every chance that an expedition opportunity comes up: "I'm going to send out the kids and wife."
Why was I so suprised when the kids survived past day 5. When he got them to day 40 I was like "Wow, I didn't see that coming" 😂
I remember Mark and Jack playing this back in the day and I always wanted Kevin to play it. Happy day :)
And Jay from the KubzScouts! He's done a TON of this game; has a whole huge playlist full of challenges and time-wise, it spans from the earliest version of the game, up through all the updates and then the remake, so you can also see how the game itself changed as you watch along.
My fave was the Christmas challenge, where you have to be NICE to everybody and everything for 25 days. No. Matter. What. XD

Truly, this is the darkest timeline if Kevin is now pro-soup.
Hey, its a post-apocalyptic world. Sacrifices and hard choices must be made in order to survive. Kevin knows this all too well. He knows that the memory of what he did will haunt forever, that hes now a soup eating monster and theres no going back. But he survived. Thats what reallly matters.
I like that Kevin thought his first run-through was kind and considerate parenting.

The fact that he eat so much soup, and allowed his family to eat soup as well, its all thats really needed to confirm what a good father Kevin became. To commit such a grave sin to save his children, heaven knows no greater love than that.

I’d say the father in “The road” book is a pretty good father, all things considered. Amazing read btw, would recommend. Granted, very messed up so if you can’t stomach it, I’d advise against it.

I would at least try. The closest I've come (in a game, of course) is when I did the Apocalypse Challenge in the Sims 2. Although, by the time my main character had kids, a couple of the worst restrictions had been lifted, so I wasn't doing parenthood + FULL apocalypse at the same time.
In case you're wondering: Yes, that challenge is as chaotic as it sounds, yes it does exist for every Sims game from 2 onwards, and HECK YES Kevin should play it. :D
