  • Part 1 in a series where my dream of building a greenhouse becomes a reality. My husband and his cousin start laying the groundwork for a 12x16 foot structure that will have walls of recycled windows sourced from near and far. The majority of the windows came from an old house in Staunton, VA! Be sure to follow along for the whole build - from ground up!
The lumber came from Home Depot and a local lumber yard. We rented a post hole digger from Home Depot and bought the rest of the supplies in Part one from them.
The structure is being built in a similar style to a pole barn. This thing is going NOWHERE.

Love the cowboy boots and shorts in the rain! I'm in the "gathering" stage of collecting salvaged windows. I will be doing most of the construction myself due to my husbands health issues. I wish he could help. He is so good and so meticulous with everything. I am pretty capable, though, and the things I have questions about doing I will research first. I'm eager to see your part 2 when it is posted.
