i always wanted to live full time in a hobbit hole in the ground. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort. 3 things hold me back. the high price of land, building codes, and physical limitations. you have my respect sir! :)

Chainsaw marks? On the ones that were sawn down the middle? Do you not know how sawing works? Those will leave angled marks down the wood just the same. Both are crude sawing methods, one is just quicker. Glad to see you wake up and look to inject negativity into comment sections. Hope your life gets better.
After watching so many of your videos I just have to say. My hats off to you in working in sandals lol. I learned, the hard way, to not do that years ago.

Not everyone has been watching this channel forever and are seeing things for the first time. For those people whining that “it’s a rerun”: if you can’t say something nice, STFU. 😅
wow! wow! ..sir .. i enjoy watching you going into the shelter thru the well & then closed the windows .. a fantastic stealthy bug out shelter .. 🤣🤣🤣 but maybe you can dig another hole for exit in case you are "found“ .. an escape route .. a contingency plan ..

I thoroughly enjoyed the video. My only question is, how would you do something similar in the middle of a high plains desert where there are very few trees to use for building materials? And the ground is mostly flat..
When you build into the ground like that and then cover everything over, I assume there’s going to be pretty darn good insulation. Do you even need the heater or is that just a risk?

Cant help but chuckle at the sight of arm guards with sandals. 😂

How do you prevent flooding in these underground shelters??
It's probably slightly slanted/ aligned slightly with the hill?
Edit: Probably drainage holes as well
not really too sure
You dont.
The house just floats up, duh , 🙄
If it's that easy to push a shovel through chances are it doesn't retain water very well
Amazing skills !!!

its funny but its a pool not a shelter. At firs rain, it will get a ton of water in

Holes in the ground?
This is pretty cool to hang out in.
Under the stove may I suggest a stone base as well as stone wall behind it. For fire safety of course.

Does it have good enough air circulation to stay closed at night without danger of asphyxiation?
what where those rebar staples you drove into the logs to hold them at an angle?
