Sorry to hear that.
Luckily, where I live, most people aren't religious, but idiots who pretend that they're being "tolerant" are allowing a certain intolerant cult to gain in power and numbers, so how long the UK will remain mainly secular* is up for debate.
* A lot of people who put c of E on forms don't believe a word of the bible, so the official statistics are massively inaccurate, to say the least.

Politics also harm society
I agree my fried but in my opinion this is self harm.
Politics is the ability to influence the criteria that determine the direction of your society.
If you don't want crimes to be committed in your society, that's a political decision.
If you believe that politics is bad, that means there shouldn't be politics.
But that's very harmful. Inevitably, someone will decide the direction of your society, and the smartest thing for your well-being and survival is to participate in those decisions.
The fact that people choose bad representatives doesn't make it true that politics is bad. Politics is a social tool.

Really? The discussion is about religion.
...and in spite of these type videos, these facts, believers still rationalize religion.
This from the people who gave us wokeism and 10 k genders. Lied about covid origins and treatments....but ok you're the facts side 😅
What is more rational, that the world was created from nothing or there was a creator??
@@cwkay6847 Whether our universe was created by an intelligent entity or not is completely irrelevant. The universe can have a creator and have "intelligent design" AND still have nothing to do with your God and therefore no rational justification for any religion and specifically whatever your religion is. If an atheist says they don't believe there is a God that's a reasonable belief. If they say there wasn't a creator for our universe, that is not a reasonable belief. When a theist says there was a creator, that's a reasonable belief. When a theist says that creator was THEIR God, and their religion is true that is not a reasonable belief.
So, the atheist says, I don't believe the universe was created and therefore there is no God. And the theist says the universe was created and therefore there is a God and it was my God that created the universe. Both of those positions are nonsense. Whether or not the universe was created and has intelligent design does not have a cause-and-effect relationship on whether there is a God. Our universe could have had a creator and that creator not be a God. Our universe could have been created by an intern.
It could be that this universe is one universe among millions of universes and an intern was assigned to create this universe. And the intern was told we'll check your work in 10 billion years and if you didn't screw it up too badly, then we'll allow you to be an apprentice for the next 100 billion years and you can work your way up to become a universe craftsman.
It is only through arrogance and ego that trivial lowly human beings have the gall to declare that they know that because something created the universe and it shows some indication of intelligent design, that a God created the universe, when it could have just as easily been an intern that created it.
@
So could that interns name be GOD??? Lol
They always will. In Kenya, 400+ followers starved themselves to death, believing that was the way to salvation. How F****** evil is that?
The wars fought between European powers from the time of the Protestant "Reformation" to the defeat of Napoleon in 1815 were mostly Protestant countries arrayed against Catholic countries and vice versa. If one studies these closely, it is clear that commonality of religion was a major underlying basis of alliances, and the difference between the two major religions a fundamental cause of the wars.
Europeans who settled the Western Hemisphere killed off and drove out the indigenous peoples, justifying it largely on the basis that they were heathens.
Christian missionaries from Europe and America did much to disrupt the societies of and sow strife among indigenous peoples in other parts of the world.
Europeans, in settling in America, marveled at the fact that native Americans often quickly died in droves from disease upon the Europeans' arrival, not knowing that the pathogens that causes the diseases were brought to the western hemisphere by the Europeans who had natural resistance and immunity, but which the indigenous peoples did not have. The Europeans attributed it to divine providence in that god was removing what otherwise would have been a significant obstacle to their taking the land. In his description of Long Island, New York, published in 1670, Daniel Denton states "[I]t is to be admired, how strangely they [the natives] have decreast by the Hand of God, since the English first setling of those parts; for since my time, where there were six towns, they are reduced to two small Villages, and it hath been generally observed, that where the English come to settle, a Divine Hand makes way for them, by removing or cutting off the Indians either by Wars one with the other, or by some raging; mortal Disease."
And politics are even more dangerous and higher death tolls and suffering.
Religion isn’t the problem nor the solution especially considering there are thousands of active religions NOW.
Excellent video - well put together!

3:36. True, but the mandates are based on human flaws, which are then exacerbated by propaganda and false beliefs, i.e. religion. Or put another way, religion has a a way of exploiting the worst tendencies in humans.
Religious sucks! Go science!
Religion is harmful to society if it forbids free inquiry under threat of eternal punishment. I quit Catholicism first and later all religions because I couldn't get a straight answer to simple questions. It was all a big mystery. Yeah, right.
Which simple questions?
I was raised catholic, and its a horrible thing to do to a child. And all questions are answered with "It's a mystery" or "You must believe."
In other words, catholicism exists only to shield priests from being prosecuted for kiddy diddling.
I've only had the exact opposite expirience. Theists are typically always welcoming and even excited to answer my questions but it's only exclusively ever athiests that consistently won't tolerate their views being questioned or subjected to any scrutiny.
The evidence is showing that apparently we have gotten that trope completely backwards
@@gregsanich5183I think you are wrong… the ONLY point a true atheist makes is to reject religious claims without evidence. As an atheist I would never claim that any god does or does not exist because I dont know… theists on the other hand never admit they dont know because it means their belief system becomes redundant. It makes no difference anyway because nobody has all the answers that can be agreed by all (i.e. the truth) … nobody.
If humans had always been content with the information and explanations provided by religion and tradition, we would still be living in caves.

Then how do you explain Stalin Hitler and Mao ? All of these societies opposed religion yet 100’s of millions of people were killed!!! Square that one!!!
Wars of politico-economics, not wars of atheism all three.
Hitler, Stalin and Mao were clever enough to know that religion led to solidarity of political opposition.
Know your history.
That has nothing to do with opposing only religion. H1tler was christian and often thanked Yahwe in his speeches. He hated jews mostly because he thought they were leeching off the already impoverished german people that was forced to pay reparations to all other European countries after WW1, not because of their religion. The race theories that flourished during that time, including frenology, strengthened his belief that jews were not really humans and neither were africans, arabs or asians. He also blamed jews for the death of Jesus, something only christians do.
And lets not forget that beyond the six million jews that were murdered, there were an additional three million handicapped, romani and gay people murdered in the same camps; gay people had it much worse than the jews because, even among the prisoners in these camps, gay people were hated by all of them too. It was easy to be killed by other prisoners if you had the pink triangle on your shirt instead of the yellow star of David.
Stalin and Mao oppressed everyone equally; they implemented communism by force on people who didnt want because it is an innately oppressive ideology that only looks good in theory, but never in practice. They didnt want to share power with anyone, least of all a powerful church that influenced the minds of millions of the same people that they sought to gain complete control over.
If you were an atheist, but also supported capitalism and free speech, you were equally a target as a religious person in those regimes and the same is true for every communist regime today.

Religion does not harm anyone
People taking religion seriously does.
Religion teaches false information, manipulates any translation of the bible to support their sermon, preaches fear, burning in hell, disrespects others who have a different belief, verbalized bullying and making fun of those with different beliefs, gains power and control with fear so you won't quit the church and makes money hand over fist. Anybody who believes the earth is 5000 years like I was taught is beyond stupid. The earth was created in 6 days...? 4.5 billion years old. And when did God make man? Guess again. The Abenaki indigenous tribe in New Hampshire is 12000 plus years old. I could go on for hours. The point being if all this shows Christianity is wrong.. you have to admit the rest of the bible is wrong as well.
Religion harms everyone. The most hideous atrocities are always committed in the name of religion; example catholic kiddy diddling which is A-OK with the Big JC as long as it's a priest doing the diddling.
