For those of you young people that don’t understand the concept of hard work, take a long look at what this young man does on a daily basis. Awesome job! Your parents raised you well. Love the videos.
All I can think about is the smell of the manure and how bad of an assault it would be on the old nose. I don't think I could ever do what you do - getting up at 4:00 am in the morning dealing with the smell of manure most of the day long. Your parents must be very proud of you not only for how much you contribute on the farm but all the technical skills that you've acquired. It's amazing that you share so much, but with things the way they are right now, I hope you have a good security system. In Alberta we are seeing a really big increase in thefts on farms etc. You're doing a magnificent job and keep up the good work!
Wow infrastructure is amazing. Here in Australia’s mild climate 400 cows, 20 unit swing over with stall gates, your ADF cups, cows grazing pasture, 2.5 full time labour units equivalent but no where near production or pay rate on milk. It’s so interesting watching your family go at it. Other Dutch relatives moved to Canada rather than Australia so I’m loving going through your videos
Your automated barn sure keeps the ladies comfy! Can’t wait to see the slurry tank in action, what a monster it is. Thank you so much Jan for taking the time to share your days with us. Much appreciated and you are educating, entertaining, and giving us excellent videos!
Nice swimming pool joke. Wow, you need to know a lot of different stuff when running a dairy farm. I'm impressed with all the stuff you and Eric know what/how to do.
Great video. Once again, you are telling us about all of the things that have to be done - the fun, and the not so fun. But the automation in your buildings is amazing. Blessings to you, your family, and your staff from Davenport, Iowa.
Whaaaa? You cut it off just at the best part. I wanted to see that big sprayer in action too. Thanks for taking as much time as you already do to film content. I know you've got "real work" enough to fill your day.
Another great video good to see young guys still wanting to farm like yourself good Canadian kid and like cole the corn star like I said great to see what you young men do.
Your comment about dropping the injectors and damaging the road made me smile as most of the rural roads I have been on in Sask. aren’t much better than gravel roads.
You are a very hard working young man that pays attention to details I really respect that to many young people your age are lazy and say heck with it too much and just FYI when you hooked up to the pump no father than what you had to go you could have just stuck the pin in upside down and let the cotter key be on top would have saved a trip to the shop to change out the hitch
@@saskdutchkid if your not going to far to fast it's just fine I do that too the drag I pull my skid steer with just to move it around so I can cut the grass around it but if your going far and at a high rate of speed then it's best to do it like you did just a little time saver in a pinch
The disker as you call it (called a disk in the US) is an older model International Harvester #490. Case bought IH in the early 1980s and became Case IH. In the last few years the company was purchased by Fiat Corp and they combined with New Holland, and the company is now named CNH
Best intro on UA-cam. Seriously. Got a talent for vids. Question: with utilization rates of imported feedstuffs is your manure enough to replenish the removal rates of the fields or do you have to import granular fertilizer? If so, what percentage. We buy all feed for our beef cow/calf op so essentially we are importing fertilizer. Or at least part of it. Granular is less. Much different for dairy I'm sure. Better feed, better manure, but higher requirements. Thanks.
You have a very impressive farm. Does your family own this farm? I am very impressed with your knowledge at your age of the Operations of the farm. Many people wouldn't know how to perform all those maintenance you are doing. You also know the computer settings. Nice job young man. Where are you located? Thanks for sharing.
AAhh washing windows while pumping gas as a high schooler, The treat when the driver was a good looking girl !!!! she got double eagle stamps and a super clean windshield.
Hey. always on top. Did it dry out a bit? a question: how much slope did you put in the waiting area for cows for good water flow? thanks for sharing. greetings from switzerland. François.
The ventilation system is doing a great job; looked like the two fans along the sunny wall were spinning faster than the rest. Thats great to see. Seems you are having a lot of issues with the clevis hitch - if you have interference with the top piece in place, just put the pin in from the bottom? Do you think that would work? May need a new, safer pin if using for long periods or for heavy weight.
I enjoy your videos very much...even though much of the time I am not quite sure what you're doing....it's still interesting. (I am not a farmer of course...not even close...although i like milk quite a bit.)
Just came across this channel. Great vid, busy day... Saskatchewan is getting popular, do you watch The Detail Geek? He is another Sas channel. Also, that is a great barn...
"Bigger pool then kanya". 😂🤣😂🤣 Now that's funny. Which machine has the switch box to open the hood? Is that a good thing / a bad thing ? Seems like it would be just another electronic thing to have problems w/. Out of all your videos I think this is the first time I've seen you use a quad. Was wondering why. Here, if 1 outta 4 quads isn't running, we panic. With wet, muddy, and brush covered areas we have to have the quads to fix fences and herd the cows . Your so lucky not to have the chores of fixing fences.
Without having any idea, at 8:14 could you install the pin from below? I supose there is some reason not to do that but i can't figure it out. Nice video!
Curious about how the dairy was designed, with all the buildings, features, and electronics etc. Did you guys hire a professional or design all that your selves? Either way it’s all quite complex and seems to function quite well.
You seem to be knowledgeable about everything on the Farm bro! 😂 How long have you been doing this? Please kindly share cos I think I'm way behind! 😂😂 Much appreciated! ❤️❤️❤️🇿🇦

I cannot fathem the knowledge you store!from machinery to livestock. Just wow! Hats off to you my friend
I am amazed at your knowledge of all the machinery and electronics on the farm. Seems like every video your using or driving something new.
While watching these videos I got tired and now need rest a little bit more..Thanks for awesome work, videos and kindness.

Holy geez! I couldn't get over how deep that pool was. Seemed like that pump kept going down.
Boy, nothing is simple on the farm. Lots to do just to get started. I get tired watching you. 🇺🇸👏❤
I am amazed at your knowledge of all these farm machines ! You seem wise beyond your years. May I ask how old you are?
I think this is the first time I’ve ever noticed the facial scruff... LOL. Thanks for another great video Jan.
Hahahahaha thanks!
The automation that you have on your farm is amazing. Always look forward to your videos. Thanks.
Awesome vid Jan. Thanks for showing all the detail that you do, nice to see how much work is involved.
It's a joy to watch someone work when they obviously just know what has to be done and how to do it. Thanx 4 sharin. Stay safe.
