- One of the UK’s most charismatic TV presenters, Jeremy Clarkson has been entertaining the nation for some 40 years with his uncompromising take on the car industry and life in general. At 62 and with no fewer than 10 jobs at the last count, Clarkson is now trying his hand at farming.
Joining Clarkson is Kaleb Cooper, Jeremy’s sidekick from the smash-hit reality TV show, Clarkson’s Farm. On the show, Kaleb is the young man tasked with teaching Clarkson how to farm, earning his ‘break-out star’ status by telling Clarkson what he really thinks about his farming prowess. Alongside his day job on the Diddly Squat Farm, Kaleb has built up his own agricultural business in the Cotswolds, while gathering 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
Together, in a podcast first, they talk about their sometimes confusing master/apprentice dynamic, how David Cameron broke Jeremy’s vintage tractor and why sheep are afflicted with an existential death wish.

I was at school with Kaleb. I can say with 100% certainty that the Kaleb we see is no different at all to how he is off camera. Just an all round good guy

There is something seriously wrong with the schooling system that cannot harness the incredible talent and determination that Caleb has. I was a teacher for 25 years, and the narrowing of the aims of the education system does not cater for such entrepreneurial gems such as Caleb.
Our local secondary school here in Nuneaton had a nationally, famous rural studies department but now, since one inspirational, teacher retired, no longer exists.

Clarkson's Farm is THE only reality TV show I've watched in 25 years and it's by far the best show for ages. Highly entertaining but, more importantly, incredible eye-opening. I had no idea of just how challenging farming is and how the government seem to put every hurdle imaginable in their way. I pray there is a series 3...........with ALL the crew! And that includes you, Kaleb!
It is the only reality TV in my opinion.

Jezza is the best thing to happen to farming because of the size of the audience that will listen to him no matter what he is talking about. He is so completely honest and captivating that he gets a message across that people understand and believe.
Farmers are so essential yet no one thinks about their plight.
The amount of focus farming has gotten from regular people, because of this show, is incredible. 99% of people don’t think about the people who grow their food as long as it is wrapped in the shop for them to buy. I genuinely think this show will help farmers combat the red tape they face

Kaleb is such a grounded person. He has the peace of a truly happy man. He is the star of the series, and rightly so.

I work for Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and in my personal opinion, Jeremy and Kaleb have done more to inform the general population about the struggles farmers face than anyone else. Even ‘This Farming Life’ hasn’t done this much. Absolutely brilliant interview, thank you!
Kaleb has to be the most grounded, down to earth young man I have ever seen. He has no airs and graces. No ego. No pomposity. He is probably the most honest young man I have ever seen on TV or even met in my life. Such refreshing to hear him say he doesn't care about not having a passport, or travelling. He is happy in Oxfordshire, and good for him.
I think there are plenty of Kalebs out there, they are silent so we don't hear them above the din of our 'new' society in all its foreign awfulness. This show is an absolute breath of fresh air! Love it. It makes my bones shake with laughter!
I have met others like him. On farms in Canada. Farms is the common denominator. Especially for boys. Most are really not hyperactive- they’re just not all made for sitting in desks pushing papers.
Him saying his sons a foreigner because he was born a few towns over from where he stays had me in stitches. His worlds so small but he's so content with it.
Men like Kaleb are so much more attractive and inspiring to me than the woke, travel-obsessed white-collar idiot men who populate most urban areas.
If Kaleb doesn't need to know what Oklahoma is then guess what, no one does. The man knows the things that need to be known and we better learn from him.
Because of watching "Clarkson's Farm", my respect for farmers has increased exponentially. It is incredibly hard to be a farmer, and the govt seems hellbent on regulating them all out of existence.

The reason why Clarkson's farm was a sucess is quite simple. People like me grew up with Jeremy, Richard and James. We loved them in Top Gear and still love them is the Grand Tour. They have become part of the family. So, if Jeremy did a program on knitting I would watch it because I would know he would make it interesting and funny. That's why we watch all three of them in their individual shows. They are great journalists. it has been proved time and time again. Just watch some of the mini documentaries that they did on both TG and TGT, all brilliant. Long may they reign.

that is not quite true, a 1000 acre farm, hundreds of thousands worth of gear and loads of things to do is a strong start, as is the smallest cog idea. They cant just do whatever they want and get millions of viewers, knitting would be the end of jeremy on TV

As farmers ourselves, we throughly enjoyed the humorous side to a seriously stressful vocation. My husband started off enjoying ridiculing the many faux pas Jeremy made but then ending up really relating and invested in the journey Jeremy found himself on. The red tape with Defra.. totally relatable. The councils wanting us to diversify then putting obstacles in the way to anything that isn’t farming.
It’s been wonderful for all of us in farmings communities to have our daily farm struggles understood. So often people think we are pompous land owners, now people understand

Ive got so much more respect for our farmers now, I live in rural Somerset and you hear people say ''thats Farmers, always pleading poverty'' and ''miserable old b's'' etc. But I love this programme, so much, and it answers so many questions. Already knew the supermarkets treat you badly, but didnt know the councils did too.
Well, I'm sorry to say that things like Defra nonsense probably isnt going away, and I think its going to push farming into the hands of a couple of mega corps with the giant teams of lawyers and accountants that can deal with all the red tape, and 30 years from now people will be going "what happened to all the small farmers" with absolutely no idea how it happened.
Its really pleasing to see how much respect Jeromy has for Kaleb, the way he stops and lets Kaleb speak and does not talk over him in the manner we are used to seeing on TV. Kaleb will go far with his attitude and such a nice down to earth guy.

Its so great to see someone finally adress the struggles of farming! I have a bachelors degree in sustainable agriculture and i am a farmer. I find it incomprehensible how little people understand about farming and continue to scream that we need to stop making food...... So glad jeremy talks about this

Yes, but also farm economics mean that as long as we have hobby farmers the industry is going to be brutally unprofitable. Great show, although we should worry about incentivizing so many ppl to consider farming ….

@@Yo-ItsYo if it's sustainable and everywhere, if we put more effort in to all types of food production using smart ideas and not short cuts. it can be cheaper. it's all we really need to be here. I refuse to believe it's too hard to do this together. We seem to put up making it very hard on our own.
What I really love about Clarkson's farm, is the combination of Kaleb and Jeremy: the fact that Jeremy is not afraid of making mistakes nor is he overwhelmingly bothered by other people's opinions. Following his mistakes make the show very entertaining. And Kaleb is very confident in his own "bubble" of sorts, he's the batman of simplicity that comes to save the day when the main character has gotten himself into trouble. I love the sincerity in this show.
Just watched series 2,. The best thing on TV from any source. Mr Clarkson tells it like it is. Great story line, superb camera work , top flight editing. A shot in the arm for British farming and a damning condemnation of archaic planning laws and the ultimate exposure of country snobs , fearful of their misplaced perception of invasion by us townies.

This series showed that there is no objection to the farm but it's personal against Jeremy and what he has stood for in the past. They don't care how many farms his resturant would have helped, they just don't want Jeremy's name in it.

Kaleb has got to be the most charismatic farmer that Jeremy could have possibly found. Most people don't appreciate how hard it is to be interesting, entertaining, and confident on screen, or behind a microphone. What a Combo; best presenter of our age with a plucky young rural farm boy. Brilliant. Love the show. Long live the gorilla.
As a farmer I think Jeremy has hit the nail on the head when he says we need to get rid of Defra.

I'm a kiwi. Worked on farms. Grew up on a farm. When Jeremy says he doesn't know why NZ lamb is cheaper it makes me laugh, he does know. But govt has gone crazy here and we are destroying lots of farms to grow pine trees. So you better get used to piece of log instead of leg of lamb.

My Father in law is 80 years old and retired from farming last year due to mobility issues. He has rarely watched any TV programs or movies, he absolutely loved Clarkson's Farm when we binge watched the entire series over a weekend.
Kaleb is just a genuine nice Guy - He has the most amazing connection with Jezza , and Jezza loves him like a son
I've never heard Clarkson say anything that I consider inappropriate. He hurts the feelings of people who sorely need their feelings hurt. If you chose to be weird, you shouldn't be surprised if people point and laugh. (Let's face it, the attention is what you are after anyway.) Go Clarkson.

Love it. Clarkson’s facial expression of utter bemusement when Gerald speaks is hilarious. And the way Gerald seems totally oblivious to not being understood just cracks me up. It’s a brilliant running gag in the show.
The best scene was when Gerald was with his wife talking to Jeremy, and from the facial expressions, the wife understood Gerald as well as Jeremy 😂
the way clarkson looks at kaleb when he say its my dream to buy my own farm.......he already know where that farm is going when he passes away or hands it down brilliant...its kind of father an son moment

The hour just flew by. Love it when it's less like an interview and more like a fly on the wall listening to mates telling each other stories of their life! Podcasting with guests in the same room just hits differently as well.
I sincerely hope Jeremy uses his media presence to push the issues of farming more! Joe public (like myself) have absolutely no idea the issues our hard working farmers are facing these days. We rely on them so much and I genuinely worry that people take the farming industry for granted.
Jeremy is really a national treasure and should be honoured,he and Caleb obviously like each other and i think Jeremy envies Caleb for his simple outlook on life,and they learn alot from each other.Brilliant

I loved the first season of the farm show. The first time Kaleb stood up to Jeremy was the best thing ever, it was so funny because he really meant what he was saying. Farming is very hard work and we all should continue to thank the farmers.

Why is Jeremy so down to earth and relaxing to listen to yet so many people dislike him?
I think it might be because some people get jealous, when other people become very successful and make good money by doing something that they enjoy doing.
People always assumed that he’s ignorant gear head but he’s a cool guy.
It's because he doesn't hold back on his opinions and jump on whatever bandwagon is fashionable. People don't like the fact he doesn't care about being 'woke' and 'PC'.
Casual racism incorporated in to the TV shows he was a part of.
Top gear was notorious for it.

I hope these 2 continue all the way into season 10 of Clarkson's Farm. The chemistry they have are gold.
I never have watched any reality TV until this show. But this one is fascinating, entertaining and just amazing to watch. We saw a completely different side of Jezza and a completely new understanding and appreciation of the gruelling job farming is.

Seeing people i love standing up for our birds is really heartwarming.
It is demeaning and old fashioned to refer to young women this way, and also to assume they need people to defend them. 🤣
I agree with Kaleb. Why go out into the world if you have everything you need, and really dont feel the urge? I can really relate to that. Travelling is really stressful
In the last 15 or so years travel has become less pleasant, less enjoyable. Its no fun being treated like cattle by the airlines who make it so obvious they only want your money, you are an inconvenience to them as a person

I think the show is a success because Kaleb and Jeremy just work so well as a team, both are very intelligent comedians.
The empathy between these two men is what makes this work.
I don't really need Amazon Prime but if these two continue broadcasting I will certainly look into it.
That bit about telling the children about what happened to their pets made me smile. When I was a kid I seemed to have a talent for finding injured birds or baby birds that had fallen out of the nest. I would bring them home and my Dad and I would take care of them. Often I would wake up one morning and Dad would say "Oh, I got up this morning and the baby bird was all better and I let him fly away!". I am ashamed to admit that it wasn't until I was in my thirties that one day, it hit me like a brick that in fact the baby birds had died but Dad couldn't tell me! I am really not sure why I didn't cotton on way before that because I was a pretty savvy kid. Then again, my Dad was very good at story telling ❤

Caleb is a wonderfully sharp indictment on the state of education in our world today. Schools urgently needs a lot of modernisation in order to nurture rather than quash such talent

The best TV show in the 21st century, Kaleb is a superstar. When I ask people if they've watched it, lots of people say no. They don't have a clue what they are missing, I have to confess, I just watched it out of curiosity and was totally hooked. Some people don't understand the work ethic. I do as I spent 18 years as a self-employed contractor and 12-hour days were the norm, 7 days a week.
I've never heard Jeremy talk so much sense and Kaleb is wise beyond his years.
Very well done guys, love the fact Kaleb and Jeremy were allowed to talk. That's a real issue with most interviews.

Jeremy loves everything he did and does, and his motto is probably Enjoy what your are doing. He can see a bit of himself in Kaleb, a young passionate fella enjoying everything he’s doing. That’s why he gives Kaleb advices to help him with his career.

I think the show works because so few of us can relate to farming. When we see farmers working they make it look so easy and we have no idea how much they are actually doing.
Clarkson comes in and despite being world famous, is the Everyman of farming so we get to actually see how difficult every little thing is when it comes to farming....and off course you are all just great people with a great genuine sense of humor and sincerity.
I think the goofy sincerity works. We live in such a fake Disney MCU TikTok world working jobs that produce nothing but paperwork; it's good to see people touching grass and being real doing a real jobs that have a very real end product.
I love Jeremy's portrayal of the difficulties of farming. I is great to see the enthusiasm of Kaleb who lives farming, understands the pitfalls and still wants to spend his life doing it.
I could watch a ten hour long interview of Jeremy, he's just so fun to listen to. Such a well travelled, knowledgeable, worldly guy who is totally down to earth and just comes across as a regular joe you'd sit down for a drink with and talk about sports and the weather with. He doesn't carry themselves as someone who would even have a fraction of their fame and money.
Farm lads are usually genuine characters without pretentiousness.
All I can say is that we have an hour and a quarter of Clarkson and Kaleb chatting and its wonderfully entertaining and informative ... and that shock news about the bird-flu was a real slap in the face!

I’m not a farmer but live in Lincolnshire where it’s mostly arable farmland and when I look out of my windows watching the harvest etc I understand so much more now after watching these two, best programme ever 👌
Kaleb is a great roll model for any kid. The relationship between them is amazing. It’s clear they will be friends forever.

My father recently passed away and just binged the whole first season yesterday. My dad grew up on a farm and never really told me what it was like or how it was done and Clarkson Farm helped me connect with my Dad's upbringing.
@Den of Lore I thought almost the exact same thing. My Dad wasn't a farmer but he worked at John Deere managing the Sales Department for 40 years and he knew more about farming and equipment than just about anyone. He knew all the farmers for hundreds of miles around. He died a few years ago. I can't get enough of this show, even if the tractors aren't green.

I’m a farmer in Queensland Australia. Our governments are actively trying to make farming so hard that we will just pack it all in. The people in Australia don’t or won’t support us because they don’t understand what farming actually is because the mainstream media has made "farming" a dirty word.
I decided to stop actively feeding people around 3 years ago and haven’t produced food for Australians since then, it’s only when these people go hungry will they start to work out who is the most important person in their lives that they have never met. Unfortunately it’s going to take their kids crying from hunger to wake them up. It’s a sorry state indeed, but you have all asked for it …and by god you are going to get it now.

@@bloodangel13 You'd be surprised how often I see that on farms, with each successive generation new techniques and ideas come along and so often it is the son, the heir to the business that embraces them and has to bring their father around to the new/ alternative ways to do things. Of course the younger generation who 'knows it all' so often has their father and grandfather to thank for the fundamental knowledge that allows them to do that in the first place.

I’ve lived and grown up in the north of England all my life, around farms and countryside, and always didnt know what the lines in the field were for , only when I watch this first series did I actually realise what they were for and I’m in my 40’s . I always had massive respect for our farmers , they always have been an unrecognised part of the engine room of our culture and economy. I grew up with the opinion that ‘there are no poor farmers’ that is bullshit really. I kind of knew that already as I got older, but this programme really shows it and I can’t wait for the next series. Jeremy is a character so a lot of people,e think he’s a cock, I know where they are coming from but I think he’s great. Kaleb and the rest of the team on this programme are really good people to me and it’s important that the last and new series is watched and absorbed over and above the shite that GMB and the news infect us with every day.

I worked on my brother in laws farm every summer holiday from being 8yrs old until i left school most people dont realise how hard it is, farmers dont get days off, my brother in law's farm was a dairy farm so twice a day milking the cows along with everything else there is to do its non stop full on 7 days a week, and with little compensation for the work they do, so good to see Jeremy and Kaleb showing the difficulties farmers face, its never changed in the 50 + years i can remember farmers being screwed by the supermarkets. Great conversation hope we get series 3.
Thank you for taking the time to tape & share this with us. First time I've come across this channel. In our home we have enjoyed Jeremy for years but I believe I love Clarkson's Farm even more than all his other shows! I don't exactly understand why he thinks that their "cast" didn't have chemistry initially or that it had to be developed because we see great chemistry come across our screen. 🤷🏼♀️ Kaleb is an absolute doll, he was the big breakout star in season one but we love all those we get to see on the show especially of course Gerald, Charlie, Lisa & the vet.
Absolutely brilliant television. I've lived near to the farm this year and it's been really interesting watching them do this. I have friends who farm and love the guy, for what he's done for the industry. An excellent podcast

I love when Kaleb is very honest about the attaching things to the tractor and Clarkson will never learn that. He meant that. Brilliant moment! This is a great format, performance people. Very enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable to watch. Keep that up!

Yup. And although I dislike all politics , we're going into an election that will result in a much much less farmer friendly government. But we'll see.
The reason that the show is so successful was because it was real people with real problems that only people that are doing the work, and truly understand. It also highlights all of the government red tape that is involved in producing something that generates not only wealth, but sustainability for all of society. These people are taken for granted, and are some of the hardest working people that you’ll ever find.

I have a huge respect for farmers in this country. They are faced with adversity on all sides and my interest stemmed from the milk scandal which cost more to produce than they were allowed to sell it for. It made no sense back then but then I heard about Jeremy's farming antics and its just the perfect platform to illustrate how tough it is for farmers. Despite his own reasons, he and the team have brought the reality to the masses so that people get a better informed opinion of what they have to put up with. Do not let farming die out in this country.... It is vital we support our local farmers.
Just finished season 2. Great! Absolutely a good cast. Sure need more episodes but hopefully prime won’t dump you and begin season 3.
For an interview, that was special!! The four of you were V comfortable and the whole flowed. Some may say its J and C, but it was like 4 cogs (and dog) in a machine. Excellent questions and answers and everyone equally respected. Loved it. Added a sub on the back of. G Luck for the future. p.s. I just remembered what J and K said about lonely farmers and now feel a bit guilty. I metal detect on lots of farms and on one, the farmer has retired and lets another farm his land. Last yr , his wife was absent and he had a canula mark on the back of his hand but I dare not ask. Think I'll pop round just to say Hi.
Clarksons Farm was (or better is) the single most entertaining tv-show I have ever seen.
Whatever Clarkson does is gold!
I think the show has done the same thing for Australia, raised awareness of the difficulties of farm life as we have a lot of similar problems, including unfortunately the suicide rate amongst farmers. So this pair whether you love or hate Clarkson are doing a good thing. And Kaleb is just brilliant. Keep going guys.

As someone who's grandparents had a farm, at which I was working all through my childhood, I can confirm that it is no joke.
You have to have a true passion farming to keep things going. My parents, my siblings and I didn't have it.
Biggest problem is that nobody wants to pay the real price of locally produced foods.
A lot of people are struggling to make ends meet even with heavily subsidised foods. They just can't afford to pay twice as much, or more.
Bravo Jeremy & Kaleb! You two are fantastic! Just watched season 2 and hope many more seasons come along. Keep fighting for our farmers!!
IF Clarkson wants to do more seasons then it won't be on Amazon anymore as they cancelled him because of his Meghan Markle column he wrote.
Could listen to these two all day every day.

We love you Jeremy and Caleb and the crew not for just the laughs but for the honesty the truthfulness the hard work that's what I appreciate as a fan of just about anything you do so keep on fighting for farmers cuz I know I like to eat and please stay healthy from an American fan who is also a vet who you continuously help with my depression and anxiety

It is true what Jeremy says: I wasn’t aware that I was interested in farming and because he took it seriously, I was hooked. Of course, Kaleb teaching him a lesson was one firsttimer after all these Top Gear years which I am holding dear in my personal chamber of precious and most amusing memories 😇🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really enjoyed this interview because Jeremy and Kaleb were just allowed to talk, no constant interruptions from the interviewers...
This had to be one of the easiest interviews ever.
It just felt like a nice visit.
