The farms we smaller anywhere from 100 acres to 300 so there were a lot of farmers in the area. It's great to see a modern day version of that. So glad everyone was safe and took the proper precautions I am now 54 years old and live in the mid northern Indiana region, back in the big tornado outbreak of 1974, our house took a direct hit from an F5 tornado, i was 5 years old, we did not have a basement and I was literally sucked up into it when our house exploded. Thankfully from neighbors, I was found about 300 yards out in the middle of one of our corn fields and taken to a hospital about an hour away and remained in a coma for 3 days. Thank you to all who come together for families in need.

Thank you for the perspective that is SO familiar in farm country...neighbor helps neighbor no matter what! Farm Resuce helping 1,000 farms in 18 years demonstrates the great need. This episode was deeply moving and satisfying. I LOVED that no one was talking about FEMA and government intervention...it was farmer touching farmer ane solving a problem. I'm glad to see that places like Farm Rescue exist and flourish, and even happier to see the fruits of their labors. Too many people see stories like this on the news and think that "oh - they have insurance, they will be fine", not understanding that yes, they may have insurance, but it could take years before that check is in the bank. My mom was born and grew up in the Wheat Fields of the Columbia Basin here in Washington, and I remember hearing stories of farmers that had something devastate their crop and how surrounding farmers did what they could to chip in and help out in those times, so your spreading the word like this is awesome. Every little bit of light shown on these events hopefully raises awareness just a little bit more.

Wow the retelling of the storm events just had me by my emotions! I am in Canada and outside of the tornado belt, but can really feel for all the families that suffered so much! I could not imagine loosing everything and trying to pick up the pieces! Well done to Farm rescue and all the volunteers! You to Zach!

Way to go Zach - keep promoting and helping Farm Rescue, their roots of helping others go back through generations of farmers. My father did the same thing, helping neighbors around his farm, 60 years ago.

Hello from East Central Indiana. If there is any good to come from social media, this is the best kind of good. Thank you for shedding light on Farm Rescue. I didn’t know they existed until just now. Best wishes to the families and farming operations that were hit by these storms. Hard work and helping hands keep us all strong as a country.

Excellent. This is real America; people helping people. I have seen homes & businesses ripped apart by tornadoes and vehicles tossed around and all that, but to see these heavy duty pieces of farm equipment mangled like that was something on a different destructive level...WOW..!!

Great organization Zack, I am in Canada and actually just had a tornado touch down about 1.5km (less then a mile) from my house. 2 farms where hit very hard so I am seeing the devastation my self. I am physically unable to volunteer to help them but I know they are getting a lot of help from the locals here.
