The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 is the ultimate smart home solution for accurate human presence detection, providing essential information for tailored automations such as home security monitoring and energy management systems. Unlike traditional PIR motion sensors, the FP2 detects a person's presence with even the slightest movement, making it the perfect addition to your smart home system.
With its mmWave-based technology, the FP2 sensor raises the precision of human detection to the next level. It can monitor multiple zones and multiple targets simultaneously, allowing you to define up to 30 zones within a room. You can even track up to 5 persons at the same time, making it possible to control different zones based on the real-time location of each family member.
The FP2 sensor's powerful capabilities can be used within third-party smart home platforms including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, and more. And with fall detection built-in, it's particularly essential for senior citizens who are more vulnerable to fall injuries. Families and caregivers can be alerted by both local siren and remote alerts if the FP2 sensor detects a fall.
Thanks to its powerful hardware, the FP2 sensor will be able to support much more cutting-edge features in the future such as posture detection, sleep monitoring, and respiratory rate detection. Upgrade your home security and energy management with the Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 today and enjoy peace of mind knowing that your home is always safe and secure.
I hope there will be products like this soon, Aqara LED ARBG Light Strip and Aqara LED RGB Bulb. I’m still wait.
@Aqara Your video says to install in the corner, how exactly does that happen when not enough of the base touches both walls?
Same question here
3D print a bracket to suit
Adding it to SmartThings?
Love Aqara, Love Apple Homekit
I heard in another video you need to keep the sensor 1 meter down from the ceiling... is this correct? or can I place it close from the ceiling pointing the device down?
in this video is saying I can install the unit above 2 meters, but in the app it is saying that is from 1.4m up to 1.8m, what is the correct one?
100% perfact❤
Happy to hear that!
I used fp2 for last fews weeks, It doesn't work precisely, it doesn't update, it keeps seeing people in an empty room, I have to turn off the lights myself, it's not worth the money.
It needs to be placed and configured correctly. I installed it on a vertical wall at a height of about 160cm. In the application you need to set the edges of the room, this significantly reduces the likelihood of “ghosts” appearing in an empty room.
It took me about a week to set it up correctly, but now I am completely satisfied with this sensor.
Hello,
Regarding the Fp2 presence sensor and monitoring the presence of people in the room when not connected to the home network with the mobile device...
Do I need to get a hub like the Aquara E1 hub to see if presence was detected when I'm not connected to the home wifi network with the mobile device?
Or does the Ep2 Sensor connect directly to some of your servers so I can see the presence status from your Application on my mobile device also when I'm not at home?
You do not need a hub for the Presence Sensor Fp2! It is Wifi based
@@AqaraHow manage the areas from Apple Homekit, if not connect to hub (e.g. M2, M2, or hub cameras)? Can i use without Aqara app, like Door Sensor P2? What does it mean, “you can use without Aqara hub”?
How are the different areas eliminated? Pressing the reset button for 10 seconds does not work for me. I think this is how it should be reset but it does not eliminate the different zones. Thank you
After 2 days of trying I got it to work but the configuration was not correct, I have several zones (6) that indicate the same area because I do not know how to delete those zones. No
I understand the edges, there is no manual or example. That's why I would like to delete all zones and reinstall

@@Aqara They already responded to me today but it doesn't work, neither by pressing for 10 seconds nor by pressing 10 times.
I just got one of these and I'm trying to set it up and when I go into the zone management occasionally it will show me in the zone moving but more than not it just shows a blue person icon in some random place in the room and when I move it doesn't follow my position.
Is this how it should be? Am I doing something wrong?
Doni need to send it back for a new one?
Not seeing your position move makes it very difficult to set up a zone with precision.

Can i use this sensor to control my Aircon unit?when someone is leaving home and the Aircon is left on.Thank yoi!
Yes!
work with aqara home on android?
Yes!
Little finicky to setup and use. What I'm noticing is that it prefers horizontal walls instead of vertical. Couldn't get anything working right on my vertical wall. And secondly, does not do great when the room is totally dark.

@@Aqara already talked your team. Seems to be getting better with some tweaking for sure. Still super excited about the product and can’t wait to see how it evolves over time!
In theory this is awesome, but it does not work properly in real life. Yes it detect occupancy in a zone pretty accurately, BUT, it constantly will not detect non occupancy. I have tried this multiple ways, but setting it to, let's say, turn lights off when no occupancy is detected it just doesn't work. The lights just doesn't turn off. I am really disappointed!
Have you set the exit/entrance zones? I was having the same issue until I did that
If you don't use exit zone, then this will happen, check your setup, mine has no issue, it works almost perfect when only one person
Il faut utiliser les zones et non l'occupation, il faut faire une zone pour la pièce principale comme ça la lumière s'éteint aussitôt.
Mon salon à plusieurs zone, et mon salon est lui même une zone
Syncing the names from Aqara to Homekit also will not happen. Always get a 'network error'

Does anyone have that problem?

why are there no smart plugs or power bars or temperature sensors that can be used for automation starters for the UK market
When in Europe ?
The FP2 is now available! If it is out of stock in your area, please check back within the next few weeks :)
Worst sensor I have ever tried. Setup is hell. Documentation on setup is almost non-existant. Its detection is hit an miss. It also detects multipe people in the room when there is one or non. Worst of all don't put it where you want a quiet working space. It makes a subtle high frequency sound that gets to you at the end. Unfortunately, I bought 3 of them after I watched (what I considered) reliable UA-cam channels only to discover that this device isn't good enough to perform the functions it was meant to perform. Don't buy it until they make a better version of it.

That thing is very bas
I don't have a dining rable though
Thanks to Apple home app, that's great. Guess what? I don't use Apple.
Got to keep looking for a better view. I'm giving this a thumbs down
