Ive got Alexa, and smart outlets and lights.... If presence is detected in a ZONE can it do MULTIPLE Things on 1 zone trigger ?... Example... it sees presense in a ZONE, turns on 2 outlets (that are in a group) and turn on Smart floodlights... then wait 3 seconds....and also say a 'phrase' out the alexa all from just 1 zone trigger ? Also can you put a ZONE inside a zone ? this way ZONE 1 (the whole area can trigger 1 smart outlet) and then the ZONE inside a ZONE can do the above ?
For the first one, from what I understand you would be able to. You just need to add parameters in the routine of what needs to happen. Yes, you could have a zone inside of a zone.

ZONE 1 is whole warehouse turn on the CCTV MONITOR.... and ZONE 2 would be a CAR in the warehouse and the area around the car... TURN ON FLOODLIGHTS on car,TURN on the POWERED SPEAKERS(smart outlets), wait 2-3 seconds for amps in speakers to turn on then have ALEXA say get away from the car :)

Been using 2 of them for a month here in the UK and works really well. You have to give it a week or so to settle by resetting absence a few times when no one is in that room. Works great in Home Assistant
@@saisusheelsunkara462 Well before the latest update it was quite easy to reset it back to zero occupancy while no one in the room. But since the latest update and the AI learning it seems to be a lot more stable and detecting people and position better

what if you wanted to keep the island lights on sometimes but not other times... like say, if someone just wanted a little extra light on the other side of the room but for the most part you don't use them unless someone is actually inside that zone?

Initially, I was quite satisfied with the product, but since the last firmware update, it seems to have trouble accurately detecting my location in the room. Even after I leave the room, it still indicates that I'm at the door. I've ensured that the device is properly mounted on the wall and completed the full installation process. Additionally, I've correctly configured the walls and even created a layout of my room in the app, specifying the location of furniture like the bed and desk. However, these efforts haven't resolved the issue, and it's affecting the functionality of my automations. What steps can I take to address this problem?
I have a 4 level townhouse. If I place a FP2 sensor on each level and if no motion is detected by any sensor for 30-minutes can it trigger the Aqara G3 security system and sound alarm when motion is detected. But when at home the sensor should work the smart lights/equipment as per zones
Great video! What happens if you ask Siri to close the blinds while you’re in the living room but the sensor knows you’re in the living room? Or let’s say you have an automation set to turn on the lights if you’re at the kitchen table but you want the lights off for some reason while you’re at the kitchen table? Again, great video!
Great video. I’ve been looking at getting one of these for some time but just have some questions before I splash the cash. Are you in an open plan room / house? Can it detect different rooms? (So if your kitchen is a different room to your living via walls, would you need a sensor in each room?)
Great questions. The room I put it in is an open area. It can not see through walls. You can make multiple zones in one area it is placed in, but if you want a different room to have detection, you would need another device.

Yes you can. My demo was mainly to show how quickly it can work. You can set it so if there is no presence for a certain amount of time, then it would turn off the light
What may the the reason to not have the same starter option in Google Home. I don't have "When a device does something" and cannot select the The Aqara FP2 Presence Sensor as a starter. As I understood a lot of people are having the same issue. The sensons is properly added in google home and I am able to read its status and even the zones I cretead during the instalation. Also I tried to remove the connection and to reconect again to the aqara software and everythig seems fine.

Yes it should. I have had most success with it when it is controlling other Aqara devices in the Aqara app but depending on your smart home setup it should work well.
Thanks for the video Brett, I got one of these but couldn't for the life of me get the automations to work with Alexa or Google. The zones show in the apps for motion but don't trigger the routines at all. I just want my Hue lights to come on with motion and stay on with presence! 😢
I just purchased this FP2 sensor and managed to set it up correctly in the Aqara app. HOWEVER, when adding it to Google Home, I can only use it as a motion sensor, in a very weird way: When entering a zone, it triggers both device.state.MotionDetection motionDetectionEventInProgress true and false, and when exiting a zone, it triggers device.state.MotionDetection motionDetectionEventInProgress false. Is there any way I can use this sensor in Google Home as a presence sensor and not just as a broken PIR motion sensor? (device.state.OccupancySensing is not showing up for a zone, only device.state.MotionDetection)
Could you create an Alexa routine that would open the blinds when you enter your family room only if it were daytime and there were no other humans detected in the room? If someone's already in the family room and the blinds are closed I'd like them to remain closed
I am very new to the desire for Home Automation applications forgive me for asking questions previously asked. I currently use the HA that comes built into google appliance (phone, tablets. etc). Will this Aqara work out of the box with HA or do I need to add a hub or some other device to make it work? I'm looking to control as many things as I can by voice and physical application (in case my power goes down) to my devices. Yet at the same time I'd like to not have to add to many hubs, routers and such. Is this possible? Thanks in advance
bought 2 of them but they don't work in Europe region. After 20 emails or so with aqara they took no responsibility or try to help solve. It's a pity the company had potential. Just hope you don't run into issues and need them to resolve it.. they won't

Avoid this brand at all costs. They are a ghost town for warranty. Amazon refunded me for a doorbell camera from them that stopped working after owning it for a few weeks (outside of return window tho) because even they could not find a way of contacting the company for warranty. I bought the doorbell from them with the intention of then buying this presence sensor (for garage/workshop/gym light automation) and then some outdoor rated cameras (still no word on those coming to market). Thank goodness the doorbell camera died so quickly and I hadn't sunk more money into the brand.

Aqara has typical Chinese-mentality poor customer treatment. I installed about 30 China region switches throughout with Global version hubs... which worked until they decided to release Global version switches. So whenever a switch happens to be reset for whatever reason, they can't be reconnected to the global version hub. I'm losing about a switch a month. Emails are ignored about the issue. They just want me to buy the global version switches instead, which cost about 30-40% more. I've spent too much to change system now, so I just have to put up with it. But I feel it's my duty to warn others about these bad business practices. Hopefully they can change.
The worst sensor I ever use, it shows ghost all the times, when I back after few days fo2 doesn't work the lights doesn't work completely, I try to reset reset sensor and the lights but doesn't helps. Do NOT buy it, isn't worth.

I still haven't set up Home Assistant but others have said all zones and sensors show up.

What about Home Assistant? Can work out of the box or need custom firmware? and what sensors are available?
Works well with Home Assistant through Homekit. I can't see any sensors missing and virtually detects new zones instantly

They will turn off, and then when the automation detection is triggered again it will go on.

Yes you can do that with the Google Home automations.

The sensors in the FP2 can control any other smart products once you link both of them to the same ecosystem like Apple, or Google or Alexa.

I get the same thing. I finally went back to my Hue motion sensors since the FP2 would never trigger my automations with Alexa
What if you say on the couch watching tv for 30 minutes? Does it need movement to know you're still there?
It does not. The Millimeter Wave sensors is able to see where you are even when not moving.

The hub is only needed for it to run locally so it will work in Google Home.

There is a setting where you can have it rescan and teach it when no one is in the room and that really helps.

No, it is compatible with Google and Alexa as well. Just seemed to respond quicker with Apple.
