The Guitar Bucket List is back with another episode - this time, we look at my Gibson Les Paul Standard 60's model. I bought it used, but was told that it was in excellent condition...until I got it home and noticed that this had a secret past life! It's an amazing instrument that I highly recommend, though, so join me as we discuss this great guitar and all of its features!

I had a Les Paul classic and loved it, eventually I sold it to get a wine red Deluxe!! , which I also love!! After a few months I decided I missed my classic and ended up buying a new ox blood figured 60’s Les Paul. Conclusion,it’s my favorite!! The best guitar I ever played!!!! Unbelievable quality also!!!
Wow, the oxblood figured- been curious about that one. Can you see any of the figuring under such a dark color? I bet it looks awesome either way. :-)
Les Paul Standard 2011 🤩yeah!
I just played this one again last night (I kinda rotate through the collection) and fell in love with it all over again. Just such a great guitar!
Good to see you back.
Thank you! Got busy over the holidays. Hopefully I can be consistent with these going forward!
Nice solo on "In Control" with that one. Very cool!
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to that! Certain guitars just inspire you to play and once I got cookin with this one, it just came out so cool. Didn’t even use any effects other than my Danelectro Daddy-O pedal
I have the same model, same year, bought new from Wildwood Guitars. Put on a TP-6, Strap locks, a metal jackplate and turned the neck pickup around (like "Greeny") but it's otherwise stock as a stove. I've had 5 Les Pauls, and this is the best of them all. Gibson knocke it out of the park with the Original Collection!
You’re right about that, man. The metal jack plate is a good idea, as is the Greeny mod. I’m thinking of getting the new Greenybucker set to put in one of my other guitars- they’re probably just BurstBuckers with one turned upside, too 🤣
The definition of basterdized.
The modifications that the previous owner made? Yeah, definitely, but I think I’ve got it as closely back to stock as I could now
