Showing my wife this video to explain why I need one of each! 😎
That is so hilarious. We as married guys just can’t go out and buy toys without asking the person we share a bank account with.
Haha Well good luck to you good sir! Hope you got the nod to collect til your hearts content.
how did it go did you win
This is the most amazing Les Paul video. It's not a comparison, it's a difference.
Exactly!!
@@longandmcquadeyou guys killed this - best video on LP's there is
By far the best Gibson Les Paul lineup comparison I have been watching
Thanks very much Ertan, mission accomplished!!
Page removed his covers intentionally . They did not fall off . Pickup covers don't just fall off . The covers falling off is a myth
Yep, they are soldered on.
Another great video, Justin - thanks!
Nice comparison! Thank you! 🙂
This seriously is a godsend for me. I’ve been trying to decide for the past few months which Gibson I wanted to get as I’ve never owned a Gibson but have always wanted one. Thanks a million for your hard work and information you put into this video
You're very welcome. But you've left us hanging! Which Gibson Les Paul are you leaning towards after watching this video?
OMG, you needed this video to figure out that you need to get a LES PAUL STANDARD ? AMAZING, the fact that just about every famous Guitar player alive (and DEAD !) has one wasnt a BIG enough CLUE ? even David Gilmour, King of the Stratocaster, plays one !
chill out why do you feel the need to be salty @@wildbill2122
Such a helpful comment.
I’ve owned 3 Gibson guitars. Electric that is lol. 2 studios and a 71 standard. I can tell you that the studios are a fantastic instrument for the money. My 96 studio has a 50s profile neck but my 2018 smokehouse studio has a thinner profile almost like the 71 standard. I swapped out the push-pull pots for traditional pots and a set of Seymour Duncan, Saturday Night Specials in my 2018 studio. It is a fantastic tone. My next purchase will be a Les Paul classic in ebony
Great review. Thank you very much👍
The Video we where waiting for !!! Awesome !!
Really appreciate this video! Very helpful. Thanks!
Great reviews, really informative Thank you..
Very informative, thanks!
cool, calm and collected. well presented and played.
Excellent overview!
Thanks for this. Great video with very thorough coverage.
Thank you for the comprehensive stroll. Very well presented & informative. Cheers !
Outstanding! A great overview of LP’s. Thanks for doing this.
I love my 2022 Classic!
Great video!
What a video!! Amazing comparison.
Great review of the Les Paul range 👍❤️ thanks for taking the time to do this and share it
👍😎🎸
That LP Classic Drive Demo was hot. Great video. Thanks.
Awesome demo!
There’s a couple of those models that I need in my life!
Watched this video a few times for different reasons. Very informative. GREAT JOB!
Awesome comparison, thank you
This explains all the mysteries of the different models. Great video.
This is the BEST comparison video that I have seen, it gives good user information without over convoluting the details.
The best Les Paul comparison video out there! I have been watching different videos comparing one model to another but this has been a godsend, Thank you!
Came here from the strat vs strat video and superb video again! Thanks man!
very informative! thanks!
Thank you so much for making this video!! So helpful!
Thank YOU for watching! 😁
So extremely useful… Actually explained the key differences instead of just messing around on each guitar. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the first class video 😎👍
Best video I've seen explaining a Les Paul.👌 Glad I've stumbled upon your channel mate. SUBSCRIBED!💯
Thank you. This was a very well done video. I've been playing for decades but don't have a les paul and admittedly know very little about them. A video like this is wonderful because it gives the details of the history and differences of the models. Thanks!
Best video ever! Congrats, dude! Keep Rocking!
Great video. I have the exact LP Junior shown and it is awesome. Through a Marshall Stack, sounds sensational and has a lot of attitude.
Best description on Les Paul models I've ever seen. Nice job!
This is a fantastic video and well covered
Thanks very much! 🥰
🤘black Custom for me...a brute in a tuxedo!
Great video - Kudos!
Great Video! Thanks
This is an excellent video. Exactly what I have been looking for. Also, I’m loving my les Paul classic and tribute. I love that they both feel opposite from each other
this video helps me understand differences and decide which model to go with. thank you.
This video is probably the best video explaining the differences among various Gibson models. Well done.
Wow, thanks Joe!
Such a helpful and clear run down. No nonsense. Good stuff.
Thanks very much!
I thought I knew until I didn’t but now I do. Great job! And thank you
The Les Paul Jr was the preferred axe of my longtime favorite guitar player, Leslie West of Mountain. Just a real stripped down workhorse of a guitar. Love the p90 sound. Leslie, RIP brother. Thank you for your contribution to the music scene. In my eyes you were a giant of a guitar player.
My local music store had some Classics at a good price four years ago, and i bought one in Heritage Cherry Sunburst, and i will never regret that i did. I love the sound and the versatility of the knobs, making the possibility of very different sounds.
Well done, thank you
Finally! A full and complete comparison of the Gibson Les Paul lineup! Thank you very much!
I'm still debating between the Standard 60's or the Modern for me
First video I’ve seen of you good sir! You’re a phenomenal player. Kudos
Great video!
This is a reference video. Truly the best description of all Les Paul models and their differences I've seen. Well done indeed Justin! Thank you.
Hey very good video. I love the Long and McQuade stores out here in Vancouver. Great to see that Traynor amp behind you.
Thanks Joe! 🥰
Great informative video
Great video. Thank you for doing an amazing job. I miss your location in Parsippany nj. Went there all thru the 80’s
They had Long and McQuade stores in New Jersey!!?
Thanks for the very informative video. I learned more about the Les Paul in a very efficient way. Was never bored watching this
Thanks so much!
Got my LP 60's Standard lemon burst from L&M last year for Gibson Month. I was not prepared for how much love I would have for this guitar. Seriously. It's everything I could have ever wanted and more! I'm taking this one to the grave.
Thanks for shopping with us Stefan, we're really glad to hear you love your LP Standard '60s.
Really enjoyed this video! Thank You 🙏😎
Thanks for watching!!
extremadamente clara la explicacicon!!! me sirvio para aprender todo lo q necesitaba, gracias!!
Very informative and well-presented. P.S. I'm so glad I bought my LPs before the prices went absolutely insane.
This video has helped me decide which Les Paul I want. I currently have an Epi Les Paul Custom and love it. But ive always wanted to get the real Gibson. I love versatility of the Studio and Classic with the pot systems. Now all i need to do is go play both and pick one up. Thanks a million!👌🏼
Sensational presentation
Dude great video. Love how you explained the main differences between all the models. It really is very much a personal preference.
Love your 58 as well. I have a 59 Murphy lab and a black custom both of which I play daily. they are seriously next level instruments. Sometimes I just stare at them for a minute and drool.
Thanks! I learned something about Les Paul guitars today.
Your passion for the Les Paul clearly shines brightly.
I had no idea they made eight different Les Paul's.
Actually I think it's nine if you count Custom Shop.
This was a really nice comparison and I'm glad you didn't make judgments on them leaving the decision up to whoever the individual is who wants to play it.
Excellent review and presentation.
I'm 65 but at 62 I decided to start playing electric guitar and I have six Les Pauls, a USA 50 standard, a USA 60 standard, 2 50s SLASH Les Paul's with the AAA tops and three custom shop.
For the customs, I have a 55, a 58 and a 59 which are Murphy labs.
I went a little overboard but it was a dream come true to have these not to mention a 50 w Marshall jvm 215 C amp.
No Epiphones in this collection
Thank you 🙏🕊️❤️
Well done!
GREATvideo!!!
What a great video and excellet presenter! Clear and articulated. Nice job!
Thank you!
This was a very interesting video as it’s been really exhaustively explained and in a didactic way, specially for those who, like me, own a Les Paul but are far away of beeing a professional. Thanks so much!
Awesome video,I love my Gibson Les Paul Studio Wine Red Color , it was Giving to me ,and I hope to get another Gibson Les Paul when I turn 50 😊
This video really explains it. Definitely true about the standard 60s having the thin neck.. it’s very thin compared to the 50s which I found to be almost too bulbous. A very underrated model is the Les Paul Traditional - it’s very close to actual 50s spec and feels like the necks on the custom shop reissues. If you can find a used one from between 2008-2012, snag it!
Of all of them, I liked the junior the most, and I'd love to own the 50's P90, and the deluxe as well. Brian Robertson's guitar had mini humbuckers in, and he had it fitted with PAF's.
Got the tribute,it's amazing value, looks better in front of you, great video Steve Manchester UK 👍
Man... this was fantastic. I need to see many more, Ideally, explained by this nice fellow
Thanks! Make sure you're subscribed because we're working on SG vs SG, and then Epis and Custom Shops! All featuring Justin!
Great video
Hunted for one since 2021: 38 stores in 3 states and chose a 60’s Standard.
But Dude, this is the most comprehensive explanation on the brand I have ever encountered. 🤗
Way to “Fret it Forward”!
Great video thank you
Great video. As to the junior and special and the wrap bridge, mojoaxe compensated bridges are a game changer. Good enough for Keef, good enough for anyone.
Awesome presentación. Thank You
JUst picked up my first its a 1999 CLassic, Love it ! great video,, great explanation of features !
Does the '99 classic have coil splitting and phase switching?
great to see a Canadian store do great demo videos!
This is the best video for Gibson USA I've seen so far. Very comprehensive
Thanks Earl, that was the goal! 😁
Hands down THE best video on the Gibson Les Paul lineup! Thank you! (Speaking of Thin Lizzy, I saw them in Louisville, KY in 1977. I was next to the stage, just a few feet away from them, and was absolutely mesmerized by those two wailing on their Les Pauls! A great concert I'll never forget!)
Hey, Phil Lynott was born just up the road from where I live. He ain’t Irish. He’s English and was born in West Bromwich near Birmingham (the real one, not the one in Alabama).
In the same year I saw them in London (Bad Reputation tour). I don't think I've ever fully recovered!
very informative
I bought my Classic in ‘97 and still use it all the time. It has a lovely thin ‘62 profile neck, it doesn’t have the push/pull pots. The only change I made a few years ago was swapping out the ultra hot pickups for something less aggressive. It’s still my go to guitar, very versatile and great to play. I believe the Classic was intended to take over from the Standard as Gibson’s flagship model, but they ended up staying with the Standard. Great video, cheers!
Thank you for your expertise. I learned a lot more about Les Paul guitars. I have a 1972 54' Copy Custom Les Paul. It is 51 years old this year. It sounds beautiful with its P90's. I love playing it more than my 1986 Stratocaster made in Japan, of course. I had a relative, David Wiegand (Deceased), who had much to do with inventing the pickups on guitars as well as magnetic tape recorders. He was an electrical engineer. As a Born-again Christian, I like Phil Keaggy's guitar playing, especially when he lets loose on his, I believe, 60's Les Paul. If you have seen him play, check out on UA-cam his 1980 year of playing his song, "Time."
Bonjour,
Your custom shop modell is gorgeous, most beautiful paint job in the selection, thank you for sharing.
Thanks! Mine is supposed to be Honey Burst (I think), but I’ve never seen another quite like it. I do remember it having more red in the burst when I bought it…maybe it’s aged by now?
@@JustinWaterfield84 Honeyburst is my favourite of the traditional paint options. It gives texture without harsh contrast..
Personally I cannot stop eyeing Anaconda burst with translucent greens, would look great in a metal band IMHO.
Hurray for mini-humbuckers! I've got an SG with those :-) Excellent video!
Awesome video.. I am a Gibson freak I've owned all different kinds of Les Paul models I have a 1957 black beauty 3 pick up. And a 1973 Les Paul recording model. I've had for year's. They are without a doubt the best I've owned you get what you pay for in all honesty ain't nothing better than a Gibson.... excellent video 2thumbs up. Thank you for sharing...
That was more Les Paul than I expected and exactly what I needed, thanks. I was impressed with the tonal changes on the LP just by switching pickups and tone controls, what a rock n roll machine. I've always had my eye on the Standard but now I'm stuck between the 50's or the 60's version so I guess you'll be seeing me at the Bloor location trying both of them out!
We set out with the goal to produce the most extensive Les Paul comparison video on UA-cam! If you're visiting our Bloor store, you can ask for Justin directly! Let him know you watched this video and it helped you narrow it down to the Standard but you need help deciding between the '50s and '60s versions. He'll answer any questions you might have left and hook you up to try them both out.
This is just fantastic. Really surprised how twangy that thing was with no distortion.
Thank you for the detail presentation. Learn a few more things about different lines of the LP.
Fantastic, you're welcome!
Awesome video! Up until I watched this I thought I had a clue about Les Pauls in general. Very informative and well presented. New subbie! Thanks 🙏
You probably had a clue, but this video just filled in some of the gaps. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
I own a 50's standard goldtop and it plays as well as the custom shop LP's i have played. It seems like Les Paul guitars are about finding the right one. How its set up matters a lot too!
Yep, the Standards are plenty good for me. The setup makes a big difference, I agree.
great video. I found out my assumptions about the different trim levels were wrong.
Its nice to have someone who is articulate.Your explainations are so accurate without gettng to ego,or things not used much.
All the best from a loyal customer! ❤ you folks!
Right back atcha! 🥰
