- Greece and Cyprus are well-known for giving 12 points to each other every year but is this really true? Find out how they have voted ever since 1981! (These are all the votes Cyprus and Greece have cast to each other over the past 35 years)
When your in class and you help your buddy out. Then he helps you out later on.
I can relate to that lmao
lol
When you are in the class and you help your twin brother...
When you and your friend mark each other’s tests 😂
Greece and Cyprus are one people two nations and other countries exchange twelve points and vice versa such as Moldova and Romania which are one people two nations since these two countries have Romanian as their official languages and exchange twelve points and vice versa Azerbaijan with in Turkey they exchange twelve points and vice versa.
Eurovision’s longest running and most hated joke!
Like Scandinavian countries & Eastern Block countries aren't helping each other every goddamn year...
PhilipTheBigOne very true. It’s all political but this is the most infamous
Atleast Sweden don’t give Denmark or Norway 12 points every year, and vice versa
@@clemenscity Greece and Cyprus are sharing the same language. If you hear a song in your native language its just euphonious to the ear. The voting is totally justified.

Funny how we only REALLY started exchanging 12-pointers when the televote came in. It's as if people are shocked that 2 sister nations are voting for each other...
the booing at it seems to get louder every year
In 1998 Cyprus saved us from having 0 points.
You Mean Cyprus Saved Greece from Having 0 Points in 1998

Cyprus is just like greek city or something like that. They have the same culture, language, movies, music stars... They should be like Bosnia and Herzegovina. The are one country... Greece and Cyprus...
René Verne you are so right, greetings from cyprus, where are you from?
They can't be like Bosnia&Herzegovina because there are lots of Turkish people live in Cyprus. So Cyprus is Cyprus.
@@storym6704 But the yare only culturally turkified
they are greek too mostly
San Marino and Italy almost never vote for each
Dont worry, once the two countries get unified we will stop! 😉
And when would that suppose to happen? XD
I dont think they will ever be unified fele m

It's better to make research before commenting something Anna Vissi represented Greece 1980 and 2006 is Cypriot. It is noticeable that her sister Lia Vissi represented Cyprus at 1985. "One" music group represented Cyprus 2002 be one of the most promising groups in Greece in early 00s with songs like " Moro mou" and the main vocals made by Constantinople Christoforou a Cypriot singer represented Cyprus 1996, 2002 (as ONE basic vocals) and 2005. Elefteria Elefteriou represented Greece at 2012 is Cypriot. I've Adamou represented Cyprus the same year is the main women vocals for the succeeded Greek group " Stavento" and she is initialized her career from Greek version of X factor. Lucas Yorcas represented Greece at 2011 is Cypriot. Annet Artani represented Cyprus starting her career from Greek show " Fame Story". AdamAteMyMuffin 2019 and they are sill going lol
AdamAteMyMuffin they’ll never stop! Wish we had a friend like Greece or Cyprus to help us out but we only have Ireland who give us some but not maximum points
2021, I confirm they still are
2021 and we are still going :)

ESC was always influenced by the politics and was never just a song contest- that's why some countries get really few points when others are always close to the top. Many countries do that but it's more obvious between Greece and Cyprous because these two countries are more like brothers. They have a really tough history that really few people know THE WHOLE truth about (me neither).
Not just politics, but languages as well. Songs sung in English got immensely better scoring than any other language (talking about the 20th century)
Not really... Israel won the ESC and you know counties dislike them
Greece and Cyprus were the main ones doing it during the jury years. The Scandinavians had some bias but not all the time (reminder that Sweden blanked Nocturne). And Ireland and Portugal had a track record of being harsh to their neighbour before the televote.
ΕΛΕΟΣ! If Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland gives so many points to Sweden you say nothing... We have only Greece...
Nobody ever votes for Finland though...
Made By Me Norway have given 12 points to: during the years:
The Netherlands twice
France at least 3 times
United Kingdom
Ireland at least 3 times
Italy at least twice
Germany least twice
Luxembourg
Yugoslavia
Portugal twice
Latvia
Malta
Lithuania (public votes this year)
Linda Kristine Kjørlibråten Just saying... Norway gave 330, Denmark 316 and Finland 256 points to Sweden... I just don't understand all the booes I hear everytime when we vote each other. At least if you could vote for your own country, believe me you would make it!
FannomacritaireSuomi romania and moldova
Made By Me Finland has given a lot of votes for Sweden, but they were never returned to us...
For anyone still wondering let me explain a few things. Both countries speak the same language. They basically share music labels. Singers from Greece are very well known in Cyprus and singers from Cyprus in Greece. Anna Vissi is from Cyprus but she has been a huge star in both countries for years. She represented Greece 2 times and Cyprus 1 time. Loukas Giorkas, Maria Elena Kyriakoy and Eleftheria Eleftheriou are all from Cyprus but they represented Greece. They became famous when they participated in greek music talent shows like The Voice and The x factor. Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Ivi Adamou are both from Cyprus. They were on The x factor together. And they went to represent both countries on 2012. Eleni Foureira and Tamta live in Greece but they represented Cyprus. In 1995 Elina Konstantopoulou went with Greece and Alex Panayi with Cyprus. 10 years later they both went with the other country as backing vocals.
So let me ask you this: Who would you vote for? A singer that you see on your tv regularly, who you love their songs, who you can understand what they are saying? Or another country that you have no idea who the singer is or what they are saying? So as you can see when we vote for each other it's not political. It's just that we have the same culture. We are like brothers who grow up together in the same house. If there was a contest wouldn't you vote for your brother instead of a stranger?
All in all, Cyprus is just part of Greece but it's partially occupied by Turkey. We don't understand why Cyprus is independent, it's just a Greek island.
nobody was wondering
Greece and Cyprus more often give each other the highest points than most Eurovision countries
As a Greek, i love that for us
It would be good for you who laugh with the Greek Cypriot alliance to judge the same as the other countries that vote without mercy and no one says anything. They have been doing great songs in the competition for years and they are losing for diplomatic interests. Let the other alliances be judged at last because it is quite tedious
Especially the Scandinavian countries like Sweden, Denmark and Finland .They accused of cheating Greece and Cyprus but they don't focus on the other countries 😡😡😡😡😡

People: 'Oh my god, Eurovision 2022 is soooo political, why is everyone giving pity points to Ukraine? Eurovision in the past has never been like this!'
Eurovision in the past:
Oh just stop being jealous and admit that you would like to have such a bond with another country!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
If only the ESC would let Gibraltar join. Then the UK could pull the same trick
like what Andorra did to Spain and what Monaco did to France
and to add with that, they also do this in the Junior contest between 2003 & 2008!
How about Serbia and Montenegro? Or Romania and Moldova? I'm from Hungary btw
ESC Gravity Or Romania and Spain
FannomacritaireSuomi yep

Grice Greece and Cyprus still are the best at playing dirty
they don't really do it as much as greece and cyprus
Stefania (Greece) got 1 12 points in my esc 2020 voting simulation, and it is from :
Cyprus.
Votes Cyprus and Greece have cast to each other in the finals since 2016 (the current voting system)
2016: Greece gave 20 points (12 televote + 8 jury) to Cyprus
2017: Cyprus gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Greece, Greece gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Cyprus
2018: Greece gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Cyprus
2019: Cyprus gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Greece, Greece gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Cyprus
2021: Cyprus gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Greece, Greece gave 24 points (12 televote + 12 jury) to Cyprus
the problem is when the audience knows what’s coming and they boo whoever gets the 12😭
OK neighbours keep giving each other few points but this is by far the most absurd one. For years, it is only 12 points shamelessly.
3:27 lol Terry Woogan
2019 and they’re still going. I have never been so amused and annoyed at the same time😂😂😂😂
Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland every year giving points to Sweden. Well... I dont see somebody complaining for that.
@@TheChannelof2012 Maybe because Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia etc. also give 12 points to Sweden...
@@TheChannelof2012 it's not the same thing. Cyprus and Greece are the only two countries that do this every year with the highest points no matter the song. Every European hates the voting of Greece and Cyprus the most. It's nasty and you all know it and we don't like it. Period. No other country does it the same way. So no need to point fingers to Russia or Serbia or Sweden. It's.not.the.same.thing. Period.
But nonetheless, we all enjoy watching it happen and booing every year. And even seeing the embarrassed faces of some of the spokesmen and -women. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
