*Still waiting for my Lamborghini.*
Were's my lamborghini?
Metayounis me too xD
c mamo
Everyone saying "only speed no soul" clearly didn't get the keys to their Lamborghini.
I drive a Toyota yaris
3:15 sounds VERY soulful to my ears
Perfect
What colours your bughati
No speed only soul
Imagine waking up everyday knowing you can play guitar like this
You would struggling pulling your pants up with those massive balls
Glorious Life!!!
"I'm going to give you the keys to the lamborghini"
proceeds to keep the keys
Hahahahah so trueee
😂
The only thing I can play from this video is the play button.
HAHAHA
Me too
In all seriousness, I can sweep pick for whatever reason, but I legitimately can’t do even a single run he does with alternate picking.
Samesies
Santiago Capobianco I would like but I don’t wanna ruin 123
This takes me back!
Wowww.. You are my inspiration 👍
Ohh Michael!! Where are the keys to the Lamborghini?
HOLY SHIT MAB HIMSELF
Do the same, Michael :DDD pls
How long Is the path to the keys of the Lamborghini? ):
This has gotta be the most 80s thing to ever exist
Guitar elitists be like:
"no feel"
"no melody just fast"
Number 1, there is a melody, some people are just too deaf to here it, number 2, this isn't meant to be a demonstration of him playing with "feel". It's meant to show us how fast he can play and the talent he has
Seriously it's called SPEED KILLS not the David Gilmore Feel Hour.
I don't care what anybody says about fast playing being unmusical...that was the fucking musically amazing :D
justin kenny I Agree with you! good comment!
I work for a store that has hosted Batio several times for clinics- I gotta say, he is one of the nicest dudes on the planet. After the clinics, he would answer every question, pose for every pic, sign absolutely everything. One time he was in store till about 1am, making sure he spent time with everyone there.
My experience as well.
It's funny that no one knows his band and songs, but every guitar player knows, who Batio is
That makes me laugh so hard.
He's in Manowar now. Sounds neat.
The cleanest sweep picking I have ever seen!! Everything he does is accurate, clean, and articulate! Inhuman!
He's like a machine
I now possess the keys to the Lamborghini. :)
The-Art-of-Guitar love your videos man. They've helped me a lot :)
If you can play no boundaries, i would really appreciate if you could make a guitar lesson on it
Give them back!
as do i, good sir. i'm learning this song lol
...but I don't know how to drive it. :P
He signed my friend's wallet. He said 'beware, it'll make you spend faster'. He was the nicest chap you'll ever meet.
God dammit 🤣🤣
That sounds like mab would really say lol xD nice
@@VancoldGH He also said that the next song he would play would be number 2 on his album, and that 2 was divisible BY METAL.
I click on this video everytime it comes up just to hear the Lamborghini line.
Ive been waiting 25 years for my keys.
This video will blow my mind for atleast another 10 years lol
Не подскажите это какого года запись.
Let’s be honest we all secretly look up to this guy.
No one looks up to his hair though..
@@anthonymendez1015 lol! Looks better than bald with the wig off tho'. His pedals aren't bad to boot..
Ok I'll be honest. No I dont look up to this guy. Not a fan of this intense speed. Its kind of boring.
You asked...
@@Amp661 "It has no feel guy"has been spotted.
@@franciscoferragni84 look again. I said it's boring. I never said it has no feel.

hhahaahahaha
My fav comment ever
I listened to the whole thing. I'm still sitting in the bus, where's my lambo ?
the keys are all you get XD
After 14 years, I am still driving a Ford Fiesta
My dad use to drive one. Awesome cars👍
@@cjfourie1560 Yes mine is one 2014 titanium. I really love it, but cmon, it is not a Lamb xD
Thiago Rangel lmao fiesta for life 😂
I'm still waiting on the keys too man.
Frida sophia same lmfao
He goes to the Gold's Gym to train just his fingers, nothing else.
Haaaaaaaa bodybuilder
@@puneetmahadevnagrath4355 fingbuilder, if you know what I mean))
🤣😂🤣
nailed it
and basicly his arm
MAB was really a freak of nature around this time. It's amazing how clear and articulate he stays while playing at these speeds
@@O-es2zn Tone is not horrible, sounds just fine to me.
@@O-es2zn It doesn't sound seriously scratchy and the delay doesn't make it so that you can't hear what notes he's articulating.
@@O-es2zn If it really was that bad, people wouldn't able to hear the articulation and the notes he played, would they?
@@O-es2zn I think you're too disliking of the tone, which sounds just fine, and letting it get to you more as opposed to the playing.
"I paid for the whole fretboard so im damn well gonna use it!"
I purchased Speed Kills back in late 2007. I wanted to learn some of these tricks that I saw all the young kids doing. At 50 I learned the basics of Sweep Picking. Though I'm no expert at it, I've gotten a few kudos on what sweeping and shredding I can do! I'm 63 now. It's kinda fun to go into Guitar Center, grab a guitar and so some sweep arpeggios! "Look at the Old Dude! He's sweep picking!!"
Love this love you sir
He is just a beast, looks so unreal but he's hitting every note flawlessly
Oh wow your out as far as here too?
@@megajaredx9679 this has 22 million views..
Yes, but don’t give him any encouragement - he’ll be insufferable.
To the people saying "no feeling": no sh.t! Its a showcase of skill. Its to show how good someone can get. Its both a flex and a motivation, and if you've ever showed off or motivated someone you know it *feels* good. He's definitelly feeling it, if you arent, thats on the receiver's end
exactly, also just because he doesnt make ugly faces like most guitarists, doesnt mean he is not feeling it. people express their feelings in different ways.
Man his bends really hit the spot for me specially beginning of no boundaries need it my ringtone
That people has only played the first 30 seconds that are just skill, they skipped the fucking awesome song that come after.
@@TOPSTOPI yea.. imo you shouldnt talk shit unless you are capable of doing so.
He mastered what every speed obsessed guitarist in history has attempted: economy of motion. His muscle memory via repetition has likely never been equaled in the guitar discipline.
You really need to go check some technical death metal guitarists. Christian Muenzner for example. MAB is obviously a master of fast and clean playing with great economy of motion, but this is far less impressive nowadays than it was before. He's sadly always lacked the skill of creating great melodic lines.
He's faster than the framerate of the camera, it seems like there are some frames missing. Incredible.
Come Aun well if you take the time this was made in consideration he is probably faster than the frame rate, witch was not that hard at the time
3:18 I've been in love with that neoclassical melody for years
It's some caprice by Paganini, probably the 9th as I've seen in the comments, I may be wrong tho.
@@GoodKevin111 from my point of view the best neoclassical melody of all is Steve vai's (eugene's trick bag) which is by paganini 5th caprice. without a doubt classical music and electric guitar is the perfect combination
Since 2011 for me man.. i feel you!
One of the main reasons i practiced guitar everyday
Same. Always come back to this video for it. Super melodic!
still insane even in 2022
For me is insane forever
This will never not be insane
The bit where he goes "bllublawidililywidllywiddlyblublluwidllywiddlywiddlywahwahwah waaaahhh" i felt that in my soul.
3:46
0:42 “I’m going to give you, the keys to the Lamborghini”
*Excessive shredding*
LOL
I'm sorry but I don't believe this man has ever stepped foot inside Gold's Gym.
Of course he did, fingers training only haha
Joshua Traffanstedt He's more ripped now though and he still plays just as well so I guess he had some time.
Wrist jerker
He can lift with those fingers
Him: im going to give u the key to lambo
My guitar : please no
Please yes
People watch this and think it's the only thing he's ever played and then judge him on that, while actually he's got a degree in musical theory and composition, and has played many different styles over the years, do some research before you make up your mind, and watch some of his acoustic work, it's beautiful.
i swear him and guthrie and the few dudes who can actually sound and recreate other guitarists playing, MAB is a god, his names literally Michael Angelo
I came here after watching the Rob Scallon video of him visiting MAB's house and jamming. He's a monster player and a great personality.
There are many harmonies here from classical music, on his song. Clearly, he has studied a lot.
Im glad i watched this instructional video 14 years ago and again 14 years later to learn that I still cannot play like this.
🤣
Speed Kills, But Who's Dying?

Unfortunately, Dave mustain?
Women he fingers.

this is lesson one.
LMAO
At least he’s taking it slow
It's understandable that his material isn't everyone's cup-of-tea, but there is no denying MAB's technical prowess. He is an absolute machine.
In terms of pushing the electric guitar to its technical limits it's him and maybe a handful of others on earth imo. He leans into the cheese and is still incredibly passionate about teaching people how to play, and I can respect that.
Michael Angelo Batio. His music may be forgotten, but his hair will be remember forever.
Great lesson easy to follow.
lmao!
This is an intro to lesson dvd he did in like the 80-90s
What lesson? Where?
What a throwback to my youth. That opening guitar lick has been in my head for the last 15 years.
Facts
“Hey there. Welcome to my first lesson”
They say that Michael made a deal with the devil. No one knows what Michael got out of it, but the devil got free guitar lessons.
Maybe the devil died because speed kills
There’s not even a lesson. He just trolled us to show off how good he is

I'm still here at 27, I used to be here in 2008 as a kid!
It's been 16 years and I still haven't received my keys to the Lamborghini.
Same here. I think we've been doing it wrong.
We're not worthyyyyyyyy ha

Yep
i feel genuinely sorry for anyone who has not seen this video
I was watching this video at 11 years old. Back when I was obsessed with shred guitar!
Thank god its just the lesson 1
Might actually survive it.
Why is noone talking about how his guitar has 30 frets
13 49 actually 29 😂
And it’s made from recycled airplanes or some shit haha
because he’s fucking MAB, that’s why
For most of us, there is barely life after 22... and certainly nothing after 24.

I bet all the haters played or Tried playing some of his stuff to say negative comments about him, MAB is so complex and very hard to at least play some of his licks. one of the greatest, the very best at what he does, and Yes he does offer the keys to the Lambo....
Michael Angelo Batio: "I'm gonna give you the keys to the Lamborghini
Me: Crashes Lamborghini into first tree on the street
The most talented guitarist ever. Plus, he’s a great person.
I got to meet him at a guitar clinic back in the early 90's and yeah-super funny and kind guy wuith zero ego. He loves to teach and encourage people, too. He spent more time asking people to come up and play and helping them with their technique than he did showing off his stuff. Just a really good dude.
Most metal guitarist are very chill especially syn for me
Damn UA-cam video that's 16 years old. Pretty soon it'll be old enough to drive
It is 😭
It may have been uploaded to YT 16 years ago, but the original video came out in 1991... it's about to go through a midlife crisis...
I absolutely love the tone on this video
I nearly hate everything about this video, especially the tone and the guitar.
Everything except the fucking insane skills, the shredding and MAB himself.
I came here for 0:42
you here?
Attention to all haters! This guy is totally real. I saw him in the early 90's. He was in a band call Nitro. It was in a club in Cleveland, Peabody's I think, anyway you know the crowd, the first 30 rows of people all dudes standing there with the arms folded with the Im better than you attitude. Then this guy comes on and starts cutting heads, oh it was bloody, this guy killed everyone, I just stood there in amazement, this guy is a freak of a guitar player. Best live guitarist I've seen live. Period. BTW the bass player was also the best Ive seen live. His name is T.J. Racer and he should be known far and wide. Im a guitar player and I bought a black precision bass because of him.
Dude you added more to his legend with that story.
Racer was a good bass player? I never would've guessed, he was totally buried on the first Nitro record, it's like he wasn't playing at all.
*****
They were formed with the intention of being completely outrageous. Clearly the fact that the band was never meant to be taken that seriously passed over your head completely.
he sounded like someone was strangling a cat.....sorry, sorry, sorry I couldn't resist that. That's my standard answer about singers. Gillette was a monster. Prowled the stage tons of high range screams and badass singing in the normal ranges as well. The deal with these guys is they were all headcutters. I cant think of anyone I saw live who were better than these guys. It was an hour and a half of the most intense ass kicking music possible an onslaught of wizardry and bombast.
The vocalist for Nitro is/was a dude named Jim Gillette. His vocal training videos are also produced by Metal Method (or they used to be, and I can't be bothered verifying that at the moment), and his Halford-esque scream is amazing. Also, Jim's married to Lita Ford.
Wife: “Oh my god, where’d you learn to do that thing I like?”
Me: 2:56
Yeah this dude could flick the bean like a madman
20 years since I saw this video on p2p and still no keys to the Lambo . 😭😭

He looks like Steve Carrell disguised as Ben Stiller disguised as Michel Angelo
And Alice Cooper.
JHallDaBoss and Alice cooper for sure
I bought the DVD when I was 19, and it absolutely helped. The hours and hours of practice are what did it, but I see this as the catalyst.
One of the underrated technical masters of our time.
I'm still waiting for these fucking keys Michael

How many people who bought these lessons, actually had a guitar with enough frets to play the lessons in this video??? aka nobody.
MAB is a genius and a GOAT shredder!!
Along with Paul Gilbert, Yngwe, and Satrioni
"Step one: Draw a Circle
Step two: Draw the Owl"
He gave us the keys but he kept the Lamborghini.
This is one of those videos I have to watch every once in a while.
Its amaizing how pople stills watching this 16y later! Michael Angelo Batio is AMAIZING!!
He must have an action height of like 1 millimeter on that thing.
Ten years later, I still don't have the keys to the Lamborghini
That guitar along with the player should be preserved in a museum .
The ad before this vid: “you don’t have to practice 4 hrs/day to master the guitar”
This vid: yeah, suuuuuuure
4hours a day isnt alot.. just dont practice the chromatic scale at 3bpm.
"And this is lesson 1"
This is what you call hours and hours of practicing scales. Playing this fast takes much dedication and practice everyday. He is not my favorite guitarist. But I am not here to debate that. I am just here to enjoy a shred master do his thing
Totally agree, Ibrahim Kennedy. My all time favorite guitarist is and was the late, great Gary Moore (God rest his Irish soul), but I love watching MAB; I admire the skills, the melodic sense in the man. Truly a master of the instrument.
So right on!!!
3:57 DEAR LORD!!
His accuracy and speed through the fretboard is beyond human capabilities..

To this day, he might be the most technically proficient guitar player I’ve ever heard. That includes Malmsteen, Vai, Moore, Becker, etc. All of them are phenomenal players but MAB just seems like he could play anything at any given time
