I was always a thumb flicker. I called it "trigger picking". Thumb and first finger flexing and extending together. I always had great results with that. Until I had an accident to my right wrist leaving me with lots of scar tissue. I had to try many different positions before I could get back up to speed. But I eventually got close. I love this stuff. I have every single booklet, cassette tape, cd, vhs tape and dvd that has ever been made since Metal Method showed up in the back of the magazines. MAB has been a huge influence in my playing for ages and it never ceases to amaze me that he is every bit as good as he ever has been, if not better. I unfortunately had to have my wrist rebuilt after a fall at work so I am kind of starting over again. However, the first thing I did when my surgeon gave me the ok to start putting pressure on it again, was grab the old Speed Kills DVDs. I was at an extremely limited range of motion but it actually helped me to utilize more of my forearm and hand while keeping my wrist rigid without gripping the shit out of my pick like I used to do. i couldn't due to my tendons having to be released from scar tissue which took 6 months and tons of physical therapy. I actually have played better and faster since the accident now that I'm bionic. lol. But seriously, thanks for everything MIke!

08:54: Ah shit...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Outstanding instructor
Love the riff from Wake up the Neighborhood on this video!!!...🤙😎🤘
This is about when we realized that dot matrix printers were never going to be fast enough so we gave up on them. MAB is still better, faster and sounds amazing. What a guitar god. And thank you for posting all these - thank you thank you thank you thank you 🙏💗
Evry single time = jawdropping !!! Batio is the king of speed , for sure ! Hope he doing well and keep it nice and slow, to get it fast !!! Love ya 🎸👏🤘🤝👌🎼⚡️🎖🪄💜🤞🐞☮️♾️😘
"Blown their wad"! 🤣😂🤣 Man, this dude is such a legend, but hearing that was still hilarious! I have been playing for almost 40-years and I still want to be Michael Angelo Batio when I grow up! ...Sadly, I don't think that I've quite blown my wad yet! 🤣😂
Imagine being one of those students who was taught guitar lesson by Michael Angelo Batio.
Bunch of no names taught by a no name.
Kc B he’s clearly an astounding player

@@Guithulhu who did Randy's star licks vid?
@@daviclar867 There wasn't a vid, sadly. It was back when it was a cassette and a booklet. I had the Rhoads, the EHV, and the Scorpions ones. The VHS series started a bit later.
Mab seems like a really chill dude
Sweet looking Ironbird.

❤️ Intellectual, Humble, Consistent, Awesome: This is Mike in a nutshell
Great Video! Very informative. And B.C.RICH Ironbird!!
I met MAB at a tiny music store in Atlanta GA a long time ago. Hes was such a friendly laid back guy. Was amazing tosee him playing up close. There were only about 20 or so people there. Still a poster he signed 😊
Very clean
Keep it Illinois my man
I bet all the haters played or Tried playing some of his stuff to say negative comments about him, MAB is so complex and very hard to at least play some of his licks. one of the greatest, the very best at what he does, and Yes he does offer the keys to the Lambo....
