Every country has cheaters bro - but for moderators to let things get so far before even trying to inspect things makes people think they are too lax about anti-cheat. Hell over here in the USA we’ve had *WAY* more cheaters than you and you guys have like 4 times our population. You just have stricter measures against hackers in future events in India.

It was not the anti cheat which find it, it is Windows defender :D The windows antivirus detected weird files and send a report to the admin, that is why they didn't checked any further the first time.
5 year ban is probably ok. What team would want to play with him now? Any win will be under massive scrutiny. If he does well, it will be questioned. I think there should be special rules for returning cheaters on lan and that is they don't get to bring their own hardware. Mouse, keyboard, and headset will be provided for them.

There are people who have used a cheat on their main in matchmaking that probably regret it and get permanently banned but when a guy tries using cheats to win money from a tournament he gets a 5 year ban?
I remember playing on Sostronk (Indian Faceit) and used to have Tyloo players in the lobby in my team they always knew he was hacking. When Optic came to India, they had trials for the team and everybody in the semi pro scene knew the trials were just a pretense and the team was already decided. His teammates in Optic India once substituted themselves in an Indian tournament against us in the first round when they were losing 9-2 and beat us 16-14 and went on to win the Tournament only for them to be DQ'd later.

Very rarely do sports ever dish out lifetime bans and often it is a case of matchfixing which will incur that sort of permanent outcome so I would actually say it's pretty on par with what we see elsewhere. Secondly, it's actually ESIC, Esports Integrity Commission who is responsible for the investigation and the recommendation of the ban length. So it's not a decision made by Valve. Edit: Ian Smith , the commissioner at ESIC was quoted as saying that he hopes he never sees forsaken in professional cs again.

Why is he unbanned but IBP is permanently banned? If someone cheated on a major stage, they certainly would be permanently banned. It would look worse than matchfixing. I guess because it was a smaller match on LAN that the ban is lifted at all? Idk, why unban cheaters?
