Just a thought, but considering Order 66 took place within a couple of days of The Battle of Coruscant, wouldn't the citizens have a inflated view off the jedi due to their involvement in the defense of their home planet? I would be a lot less likely to accept the betrayal of someone who just saved me. Just food for thought.
Knowing Palpatine he knew exactly how to manipulate that - probably saying something like "they were the ones who let them through the defenses and put on a show so as to deflect suspicion"
I’m 3 years late but order 66 and the battle of coruscant are actually very far apart. You don’t really see it in the movie but from other media and deductive reasoning (the end of the battle is when Padme tells anakin she’s pregnant, but at the time of Order 66 she’s ready to give birth so several months had to have passed) it does show that the Revenge Of The Sith depiction of it was basically the highlight reel of the pat few months
@@darthrevan4485doesnt the siege of mandalore disprove this tho? The siege started around the same time as Anakin left to Coruscant and ended at order 66, it seemed very fast paced. Unless the siege lasted several months.
What about what the CIS would've done afterwards? Attacking Coruscant caught the Republic off guard and the CIS had the resources to take it if the played smart. So, the Republic has only just retreated, they aren't even regrouping yet, but their entire government and fleet command system is gone. I wouldn't let them regroup. I would've just charged at the next planet in the core with strategic importance, and take it, and keep going. I don't need to hold the planets, I just need to cause enough destruction to make it useless for the Republic in the short term. In this case, the CIS would be able to win easily because the Republic wouldn't have any way of countering such a coordinated lightning thrust attack.
Palpatine had secret fleets and armies in the Deep Core. CIS would get blind sided if they suddenly lost Coruscant and their tracks are being followed across mid-core
A galactic empire with Jedi within its ranks would have been something to see. Have you covered the Fel Empire from Legacies? They are like the Empire except that the emperor is good and has Imperial Knights in its service
I was reading star wars: republic commando, and one of the scenarios for a takeover of coruscant was that the remaining ARC troopers and clones would secretly train the civilians to fight, like guerilla warfare. Of course, that was before people realized Palpatine was controlling everything, so it wouldn't have happened. I still think it would be fun to read about the clones of clan skirata trying to train civilians, though. :)
What if the battle of Utupau went south? Say the fight against Grievous and Kenobi ended in Kenobi being gravely injured/killed, and Grievous escaped to Mustafar. Alternatively, what if Anikan had gone to Utupau in Kenobi’s place and Grievous had mortally wounded or killed him? Didn’t Palpatine want Anikan to go to Utupau? What was his logic behind that? I know this is 2-3 questions but they’re all interesting to think about.
palpatine requested anakin to be sent to Utapau, because then anakin would have been the war hero who destroyed Gervious and ended the war, solidifying the publics belief that anakin was more loyal to the republic than the jedi, and no one would question him not being targeted during order 66 despite the other Jedi being killed off
Palpatine didn’t want Anakin to fight Grievous. He wanted Anakin to tell the Council he did, and knew the Council would instantly deny the request out of spite and displeasure that the Chancellor had so much influence, and that they’d send someone else. That guaranteed Anakin would be on Coruscant and that he’d be able to influence Anakin against the Jedi farther than he already was (the Jedi had just put him on the Council without making him a master and refused to let him engage Grievous). Even if Anakin had been sent to fight Grievous, Anakin was strong enough in the Force that he’d be able to beat Grievous, ensuring that Anakin would be the BIGGEST hero in the galaxy, which would help when he was turned to the Dark Side.
There is no way Kenobi would have lost because he said "Hello there". However, if it was Anakin that was going to Utupau, then Kenobi might have been to one to "save" the Palpatine from Dooku. Kenobi wouldn't have killed Dooku and probably would've sensed the dark side in Palpatine, and maybe even succeed in bring Palpatine to the high council, which would have also sensed the dark side, now that they are trying to, and kick Old Plap's butt.
I wonder what would have happened if Dooku killed Palpatine while he was "hostage" and thereby became the new master of the Sith and full leader of the CIS. There'd be no more Palpatine to meddle with things and direct the course of the war, no more "clone intelligence reports" just Dooku and Grievous wrecking havock with the Republic in chaos. I assume Dooku would try to continue the Grand Plan, albeit from the Separatist's side instead of the Republic's.
When he talked about the hidden fleet I was like “hmm that sounds familiar” and then though of TROS and remembered his Sith fleet each ship manned with planet destroying weapons
Yes, Palpatine didn't build this fleet all on his own. Ship yards had to of manufactured these ships. Man power, supplies, and munitions are needed. You also need crews for each ship. Crewmen, officers, captains, and admirals. So at least some in high command would have to know.
What? Coruscant is impossible to take, waves of capital fleets, clone defenses, orbital defenses, the Jedi temple with hundreds of Jedi and temple guards. The sith can’t possibly take it, especially not when it’s just 1 sith, grievous, and droids. Also, edit: The republic had the best navy to ever exist, Coruscant was only taken once by the Sith Empire in legends through the sacking of Coruscant which took centuries of careful planning and gaining republic trust. And they still lost all of their sith except for one by burning the temple.
Geetsly's you probably wont see this message but anyway I've done some research and discovered a clone ARF commander almost nobody has heard about. If you wanted to do a video on him I could send you everything about this ARF commander and the only image of him (if you want). This troopers name is Commander Dex
okay so you said hundreds of millions of battle droids were lost and millions of clones would have been lost but didn’t the republic only have abt 6 million clones and especially by the end of the war i doubt most would be on coruscating and the whole numbers things just seems weird
Every clone would have to kill 60 droids to just make a dent at that rate. Even in a good scene for a clone they only take out a small handful of droids.
@@mahnboichild There was a hypothesis that the Kaminoans were using the term "unit" in a military sense. But, not only is there no way of confirming that, "unit" is just a general term that offers no insight into actual numbers. It could refer to anything from a Field Army (50,000 or more) down to a squad (6-10 soldiers). Without confirming that this interpretation of Lama Su's wording is correct *and* what type of unit he was referring to, we can't have any concrete numbers. Regardless, that fan theory was actually not the case in Legends continuity. The author of the Republic Commando trilogy (among other Star Wars works), Karen Traviss, established that Lama Su *was* referring to individual clones as "units" in those same novels. Numerical inconsistencies aside, this actually makes sense when you consider who the Kaminoans were, as a species and a society. The Kaminoans weren't particularly well-versed in martial matters and were very business oriented, viewing the clones as a marketable product more than anything else. While there hasn't been any information provided that brings these rather abysmal figures into the current continuity, as far as I know, there's been even less information contradicting them. [6 months later] Made edits to the grammar in this comment.
@@breeze6045 I have no idea how you can wage a galactic war with 6 million soldiers, considering our galaxy has over 100 billion planets. Even hundreds of millions would’ve been a ridiculously low number and would be irrelevant on the galactic scale. It’s way more realistic to see those numbers as units, even if the official writing means individuals
@@Sentient_Blob Oh, in terms of realism, not even an interplanetary civilization confined to a single star system could wage an effective war against an equal peer with those types of numbers; Not unless said civilization(s) had extremely extensive automation capabilities that went well beyond that of the CIS. But, Star Wars was never one for strict, or even particularly strong adherence to realism.
*Palpatine gets killed* Scenario 1) Grievous calls Darth Sidious immediately to apologize for failing the mission - only to find the chancellors holo rings when he pings Sidious Scenario 2) Grievous does not call Sidious (I don't think anyone but Dooku could call Sidious on a whim/knew the dual identity) and notices that Sidious never calls - he never puts 2 and 2 together, but with Dooku dead and Grievous already chafed with Separatist leadership - he would likely go full warlord.
Also in the 3rd scenario it would've been almost impossible for Order66 to succeed as Palpatine would have no way to execute the order while being held hostage, only being released after the war was already over.
You are forgetting that if Palpatine were killed, and the Admirals take control of the war, then the Separatists would then fight seriously as well. Remember the CIS was only losing because Sidious made them fight losing battles, or use bad strategy. The CIS outnumbered the Republic massively. The Super Tactical Droids and Grievous would become merciless and destroy the Republic. They wouldn't be held back by Sidious or Dooku's plans. It would be a REAL war. A bloody one.
@@ninjaked1265 the people of the core who have spent the war being fed anti separatist propaganda would probably be more accepting of a reformed republic than the separatists
@@ninjaked1265 Because the CIS was not a unified goverment, the Separatist existed as a coalition of jointed systems galatic powers and other smaller factions that wanted to become independent of the republic and have that indepence be acknewlodge. Unlike the republic where every planet was under it's flag was under the authority of the galactic senate, the separatist planets, systems and sectors never had a fully centralized goverment, the planets that were part of the CIS had way more autonomy than their republic conterparts and by it's own nature, if a member of the CIS wanted to split from this goverment and became independent, they had all the right to do so. Palpatine wanted a unified empire that was under his direct control, not a coallition of independent systems whose member could break away at any time and had a lot more of legislations that limit his authority and a lot of ther factions that exist beyond his jurisdiction. Reforming the republic into the Galactic empire was ten tiemes easier than trying to created a new empire out of scracth, specially because all of the planets that were part of the CIS din't wanted to be part of an authoritarian regime.
I personally don’t think that General Grievous would ever accept the republic’s surrender (even if he wasn’t a pawn) because when he was made into a cyborg, his anger and hatred for the Jedi were increased and as I understand it, Grievous seemed to think of the Republic and the Jedi as practically one in the same.
I had no idea that order 66 was going to happen in season 7. I suddenly realized in episode 11 and started crying. Star Wars is such a complex story, and I don’t care what people say, the prequels & clone wars show are best.
I feel like they need to do an extended tv show or comic series of the gritty part of they clone wars, the battles we never saw, the sieges the defences ,the boardings, the repelling and the space battles
I love how Palpatine is just there in the background and when the separatists get a win when they aren’t supposed to he would be like *Thats not supposed to happen* and then just make the republic op
I feel like they would’ve had to have had a contingency plan if they lost Coruscant. Especially since they would worry about the massive amount of innocent civilians.
note: grievous only sent a few thousand ships, it wasnt a severe depletion given millions of cis ships remained in the rim. also most reinforcements likely came from the core worlds nearby, so it wouldn't result in immediately withdrawing from the rim sieges. it'll probable make the sieges more static however
Love how this video shows up in my recommendations after capitol hill gets stormed irl. I feel like YT’s trying to push me somewhere with this but that could just be me seeing connections where there are none. If only I could actually see the algorithm so I could tell for sure.
What if Coruscant fell and with the Chancellor missing the republic sent the remaining senators Naboo because it is a Ally to the republic many senators are from Naboo and its a well protected planet with its own military. The remaining Jedi would be sent to Naboo to defend the Planet in case of a attack with a small fleet for the defense of the planet. While the rest of the Military builds up and prepares for a counter attack.
If Palpatine wanted Coruscant to fall at the time of his kidnapping, it would have fallen. Yet he would see it as being far too risky. Historically every siege or sacking of Coruscant failed and even the destruction of the Jedi temple failed to destroy the Republic from outside forces. His being kidnapped for ransom could either end up being used to end the war prematurely or, extended it without him being in power in the Republic. Both complications jeopardized being able to execute order 66 with justification and, the true formation of his Empire.
2:32 another possibility for CIS would have been to find a way to pass clandestinally plans to build B1 + few tools to make clandestine workshop, for pro CIS to build secretly B1 and stack up enough of them for some time until finally deciding to seize some important places in coruscant by surprise
Honestly I feel like an armed and pissed off Corcuscant underworld would be like a galactic Afghanistan, at least until Palpatine decided to just let everyone below the cities very upper crust die of starvation and dehydration.
The last scenarios so interesting; since instead of Palpatine becoming Emporer, I would image that an Oligarchy of Moffs would form like in the original lore.
7:00 Literaly every time the republic drives out the separatists out of ANY planet,i always have the question ,,What tops the seps form coming back".Of course palpatine but still, come on.If the clone wars werent engineered for the republic to win,the CIS could simply keep on retaking a world time and time again untill the republic got tired and stoped trying.
Interesting point to number 3 if that scenario played out then it’s likely dooku wold have no more use for palpatien as he was no longer controlling the republic and I don’t think he’d have the opportunity to ransom him thus he probably would have had him killed meaning this “empire” would have very little if any real influence from force sensitives
It would be the same. Most of the Jedi order would be decimated by Grievous when the planet was taken and order 66 is in the best condition to be activated. It is possible that the rebels might have less numbers with most of the galaxy thinking that this more strict rule is necessary to prevent another scenario like this. It’s impossible to know if the rebels would have had enough numbers to win. If they would win, The New Republic would have to fight entire armies, militias, regimes and rebels of citizens who saw what happened on Corusant
What if the republic just goes you know what grevious is down there plus a ton of droids they are defenseless "assuming the planetary shields were destroyed" they turn the fleet above the planet and glass the entire thing like the sith did to Taris
They could do that. But Coruscant is the galactic capital for politics and the economy. If they destroy Coruscant the entire galactic economy falls. And more systems would just join the CIS
@@lordrhino7026 and can’t forget the untold trillions living there. That’s genocide, pure and simple. It doesn’t even matter that it helped win a galactic scale war, massacring trillions just to destroy a few hundred million droids is unthinkable.
Just want you to know I love the Battlefront (original) zoom. It was one of my favorite shooters and my favorite maps were the ones I could camp out with a Rebel sniper.
Great video as always. I don't think Palpatine would have allowed the planet to be taken. It would have scattered the heart of the Jedi. As it stood, he had the Jedi council, the younglings, a huge cache of Jedi/Sith artifacts and knowledge. All of it right there in the Jedi temple. They would have liked fled to dozens of various Jedi temples across the galaxy. Making it much more difficult to destroy the Order.
I think Palpatine, in his grand scheme, wouldn't have wanted to let Coruscant fall to the SIC, that's why he didn't order Dooku or Grievous to mold an insurrection amidst the populace of the lower levels.
I wonder what if entire ROTS was all about the battle of coruscant. The Jedi failing to lead Clone Army during early stages of the battle and then Palpatine starts to use it against them and reform the GR to the empire
I like the Coruscant guard, I wish we saw more of them. And some people hate fox, like why? Just because he shot and killed fives, and tried to go after Ashoka doesn’t mean he’s a bad clone, Fives was drugged by that kaminoan, so he reached out for a blaster and it looked to fox that he was about to fire, some he fired first
Finally someone gets it geetsly hates the coruscant guard especially fox, so make up lies about them like they were hated by other clones even though it doesn't any where in cannon or legends. Geetsly's isn't a reliable source when it comes to fox and the rest of the coruscant guard since he clearly has a bias against them.
Ironically if the separatists win the Jedi survive if because they know the separatists are hostile and know to avoid them plus the automatic resistance from ex republic forces it would have actually been a better outcome for the galaxy if the separatists won the war.
@@geetslys True, but what if Thorn somehow in some miraculous way just *didnt* die when he fell in the ground after getting blasted like 6 times in the chest and was about to continue blasting when he decided to stay down and shoot Dooku as he was walking by,I just would like to know what you think would have happened if Dooku had died then.....I know its ridiculous and theres about a 0.001% chance this would happen, what would Palpatine have done had Dooku died then? Would the CIS have fallen apart faster? Or would things have just continued minus Dooku
If my Capital is captured I would glassed every Separatist planet, starting with the banking clan planets, from space and once completed brought the entire fighting force back to the Capital as well as sending arms to the lower levels and outlawing droids in nearly all of the Republic.
Fox was just following orders, when he shot fives he thought he was a threat. Say what you want in my replies, i don’t care. Fives was one of my favorite characters in Star Wars as a whole, but good soldiers follow orders.
We're missing a very substantial 4th option that i can vividly see based on what we know about Grevious. He gets impatient, kills palpatine in a rage about the count trying to negotiate and rains all of holy hell on the planet. As stated he doesn't know shiev is sideous
Very interesting and what i do wonder is, if the Empire rose after sucha loss, Jedi being put in secondary roles (as they actually wanted to be all along) would Palpatine still have executed order 66? I mean, That could've been the moment HE from all emperors could've been the first to end that as it's a different story. Just curious now xD
Wait if they kill most of the Senate and capture some of what remains who would have the authority to negotiate peace? The Jedi may be the only ones possible but many wouldn't accept them as Palatine by this point had broken the trust in the Jedi. Without a head individual planets or planets who are closely allied like Mandalore (who is at war by this point thanks to Maul) and its league of 1000 would negotiate on its own But this wouldn't affect Ryloth or Kysheek who may Sue for peace but there may be holdouts. Thus they'd need to run a campaign against those who still have enough Naval power to potentially go on the offenseive (Kuat, and Anaxes for example though without a head to help them quardinate their moves they'd be at a huge disadvantage) while simultaneously Negotiating with those who wouldn't want to fight on their home planets (Kamino for example as they were only in the war to get recourses for their planet) or planets who could easily be taken in space with only few ships (Ryloth, The Nerman , and Christopsis) thus they could be subject to starvation and orbital bombardment until they surrender with minimal risk to the Confederacy. In Other words I think the Sepis would win but it would be slow without a Central Government to negotiate with. Also I am going of the assumption here that Dooku, Palatine and Anikin all die in the Attack. Maybe corporate Alliance Blows up the ship during Dookus and Anikins duel? This would eliminate Obiwan (unconscious at the time) Dooku (not skilled enough to survive) Anikin would be caught off guard and Palatine would be restrained but even if he could survive he would have revealed himself and the only one I could plausibly see escaping in time is Grevious who would like just fire from another ship to destroy wherever Plapitine fled to. This leace Grevious whom the Alliance might be able to just shut off his Life support from afar once he wins enough the war for them. Besides the Jedi whom are distrusted by the whole Galaxy at this point the sepratist Allince would be the last legitimate Galactic Government left and with maybe an Attrocity carried out by a "Republic Holdout" this would leave the Corporate Allince in control allowing them to do as them to do as they wished able to set up a puppet Sepratist Senate loyal to the Corparations to make the foolish feel represented. Do I feel uprisings would happen? Yes but I Don't think a successful Rebellion would occur unless the Corporations started gunning each other down. The major funding to the Empire's Rebels came from worlds and Businesses who were disenfranchised by the Empire but with all worlds now having all their credits going to corporations who rule the government no world would be able to give them money and corporations would have no reason to. What's worse is if a Rebel Cell started to form then they could raise the cost of Tibana Gas, Hyperspace fuel , and Bacta In That region with a huge discount to the Force who fight the Rebels. Your Grandma is in desperate need of a Bacta treatment? Sign up and join the Corporate forces to battle down the Rebels who have brought this suffering upon you. I think as long as the Corporations play nice they could rule for a very long time. Thanks for the video and have a wonderful day.
@@jonahstirbis3408 I could go more in-depth, but that's the basics of what would happen. The whole reason Palpatine pushed the Jedi into positions as military leaders was so that public opinion would turn against them as the war went worse and worse.
Well the separatists where meant to outnumber the republic, so if they had more troops this might of happened, it was said they had quadrillions (or trillions I forgot)if troops, and if they had maybe a few billion troops they would’ve easily got it.
I think no matter the outcome, the republic would have to surrender. With this loss, the majority of the republic would be to scared to allow the war to continue. Whenever the GAR retook the planet(which they would have to for the republic at large to not turn on the military) the republic public would be too drained of war. Just my thoughts.

They are anakin's descendants after all .That is where they get their force-sensitivity
Palpatine sure seems to love hiding secret armies and navies to reveal at the eleventh hour.
I won’t die
@@PineapleWarior your whole obiwan saving palps part doesn't exist because both were still there during the rescue
An alternate timeline book or graphic novel from a Coruscant guard clone trooper’s perspective would be amazing
Great vid man! This really helps with the quarantine.
No problem! Always wanting to help the bored people while they wait for the next clone wars episode! (ITS ON MAY THE 4TH BY THE WAY)

It would be awesome if you made more of these style of videos
I agree.
I plan to do!
When he talked about the hidden fleet I was like “hmm that sounds familiar” and then though of TROS and remembered his Sith fleet each ship manned with planet destroying weapons
How could this "other Empire" have used the secret core fleet, if in the Republic, only Palpatine knew about it?
Yes, Palpatine didn't build this fleet all on his own. Ship yards had to of manufactured these ships. Man power, supplies, and munitions are needed. You also need crews for each ship. Crewmen, officers, captains, and admirals. So at least some in high command would have to know.
If option 3 were to happen, the Jedi would have lived. At least with how you described it. A jedi backed Empire would be something.
If the sith lose its fake
At least if they are completely lose its fake but it happens other times too
He barely showed up when I googled him, Only images. Dexter Jettster and Rex. I would love to know more about him.
Rip off of Rex lmao
@AntiDepressant he has yellow and he's arf troopee
okay so you said hundreds of millions of battle droids were lost and millions of clones would have been lost but didn’t the republic only have abt 6 million clones and especially by the end of the war i doubt most would be on coruscating and the whole numbers things just seems weird
Every clone would have to kill 60 droids to just make a dent at that rate. Even in a good scene for a clone they only take out a small handful of droids.
@Emperor of Memekind I have heard a theory that each "clone unit" being talked about in episode two actually represented many more individual troopers
Do these videos more please, it was cool
Have you done a theory where Palpatine died during the separtist invasion of Coruscant? That would be interesting to hear about.
*Palpatine gets killed*
Scenario 1) Grievous calls Darth Sidious immediately to apologize for failing the mission - only to find the chancellors holo rings when he pings Sidious
Scenario 2) Grievous does not call Sidious (I don't think anyone but Dooku could call Sidious on a whim/knew the dual identity) and notices that Sidious never calls - he never puts 2 and 2 together, but with Dooku dead and Grievous already chafed with Separatist leadership - he would likely go full warlord.
Come to think of it, why didn’t Palpatine become leader of the Separatist movement? He’d have more power
@@ninjaked1265 the people of the core who have spent the war being fed anti separatist propaganda would probably be more accepting of a reformed republic than the separatists
well, the seppies got a lot of intel from Sidious so maybe it would have been the other way around

10:05 I love that he added in a picture of space engineers
If only while those 2 B2s could have missed and hit Palatine while he was captured by Dooku and Greivous. Would have saved us so much hurt

Such a huge city planet and Obi-Wan still found a shitty dinner to be a regular at. Even knows the owner
Capturing Coruscant and demanding the Republic's surrender?
*laughs in SWTOR sith empire*
HOI 4 notification sound *Breaking News* Coruscant has Capitulated
If Coruscant fell it truly would have scared the senate into becoming an empire immediately.
I think you should do more videos like this. I like this kind of what-if scenarios.

Another fine Geetsly video to add to my collection.
Hey Geetsly's! Happy New Year!
@@regularguy2807 okay, I made that comment a whole lot ago
The one issue though is Darth Sidious would have won either way unfortunately.
Ironically if the separatists win the Jedi survive if because they know the separatists are hostile and know to avoid them plus the automatic resistance from ex republic forces it would have actually been a better outcome for the galaxy if the separatists won the war.

Very interesting and what i do wonder is, if the Empire rose after sucha loss, Jedi being put in secondary roles (as they actually wanted to be all along) would Palpatine still have executed order 66? Sir they captured the planet what do we do? Commander: exterminatus
