The Battle of Coruscant could've had half a season dedicated to it, composed of 2 overlapping Arcs, and it would've been full of great content given all that occured there in both canon and legends.
tbh an entire season with the last episodes showing heavy effects that bled over from what happened. Three episodes about the surface fighting. Three to four about routing the underworld. The last couple about the fallout, push into the outer rim sieges, and how the terror cells eventually started fighting against the empire.
Thing is, you didn’t really talk about the sizable middle class population on Coruscant that much. They were actually almost exclusively loyalists at the beginning of the war, but as it dragged on they began to suffer because funding for schooling and public works was going to the GAR. They only started to have some major separatism towards the end of the war because of this.

Hmm… it’s awfully convenient for Palpatine that the very battle in which he was kidnapped was the same battle in which Coruscant Separatists became bold enough to expose themselves. Helps eliminate opposition to ensure a peaceful transition (to the Empire).

After hearing about this, the fact that the Separatists did not win at the Battle of Coruscant baffled me because even I doubted Palpatine's manipulation and careful planning can save Coruscant from such a fate. Yes, he can saved himself by using the Jedi. But saving Coruscant? No. It should have been a victory for the Separatists.
The separatist army and navy were both heavily out numbered, there were entire naval armadas, thousands of ships which have never been seen throughout the war made up of Imperial star destroyers and other new tech which caught the CIS completely off guard in what was suppose to be a surprise attack the republic had no way of seeing coming, there was simply no way for the separatists to win the battle.
there are alot of reasons the seperatists should have won. and there is no way an arym could fight literally hundreds of millions of oppressed people, no matter how good they are.
I find it ironic that the Palpatine's ideal of sacrificing a few freedoms for order and stability and how it was forced on the citizens of Coruscant gave way for them to join the Separatists. I'd bet some that survived were eager to join the Rebel Alliance when that became a thing 20 years later.

It is pretty god damn hypocritical for the Jedi to say they value life and equality when they live in their Ivory tower built on a mountain of rotting hab zones and millions of unrepresented poor people 💀
It’s an underlying symptom of the corruption of the Jedi. But also, the Jedi aren’t strong enough in number to make an active dent in the undercity. It’s potentially billions of people. I can’t recall how populated Coruscant is.
@@kingtigertheheavy2708To be honest though, do we ever see the Jedi even trying to help, truly? It would seem odd to me that they'd be willing to engage in diplomacy/policy with entire systems, but unwilling to engage in the same at home if the end goal is truly to help people. I guess the point here isn't that they don't have the numbers to help - the point is that their actions seem really hypocritical.
@@samc9133 I agree, they had truly become servants of the republic instead of the people
Millions? Try billions.
The Jedi did what they could, but printing money isn't a Jedi superpower. It was ultimately the fault of the senate.
Oh holy shit, what a badass idea for a game haha. A commando game taking place on coruscant would be amazing haha
That explains why in Lege😊Clone wars Alpha 77 Captain Fordo was on the city world 😮
More underworld stories please👍
So the Coruscant underworld became Mexican Cartel wars
There's been a bit of that ever since it's revealed how Underworld Cops disguise themselves so trouble doesn't follow them home.
Thanks for your content as always and please know it's helped me get through this year.
Pretty good work on this video. Will there be another one like this? About Coruscant underworld during reign of Empire and Galactic civil war.
Funny coincidence. Yesterday I was on a date with my bf and we talked about those separatist supporters and the clone commandos being deployed there
With all the Star Wars shows we've had lately, I'm shocked we've never had one focusing on life on the capital planet 🤔
“I don’t believe that, and you’re sounding like a Separatist.”
I didn't know their were so many separatist on coruscant.
Star wars at its finest
Don’t forget Bardan Jusik, and the fact that it was only three Nulls
Jooo not the description 😭🔥
Can someone please make this a reality with A.I. or something!?
GWA - Gossams with attitude
I can see it!
id quite like to see this as a show or movie ngl, would be interesting to see the politics of the underworld of coruscant
My head canon reason why 65th CGs are called shock troopers is because they shock all bystanders with their brutality
The republic was already an empire, Palpatine just got it to double down.
Would have been nice seing an all out war in corucant like the level are so deep they could have build tgere own army but probably with outdated gear
this book was the best thing ever cooked up from the star wars universe
the fact that there are more separatists on the capital of the republic then entire Separatists is wild
Unrelated note but this art at 9:05 of Fordo looks awesome
Whoever did the artwork on your thumbnail, it looks amazing.
MAKE A CLONE COMMANDER MAIN CHARACTER GAME
I know late but I originally thought this is what the old Republic Commando game would have been about. The player would be fighting flesh and blood terrorists and probably some other criminal scum rather than battle droids being the primary enemies of the game
I can’t wait until the scale that star citizen is attempting gets applied to a star wars game
This is one of those Karen Traviss books I’m assuming
Triple Zero to be precise
More coruscant clone-wars era videos please!
More Coruscant during the clone wars, I love this
All these amazing scenarios to build whole movies off of..cmon Disney!
If there's one thing that consuming star wars content has showed me its that the separatists and the republic were two sides of the same coin. Moral of the story screw rich politicians. 😂
Now, if we had a Han Solo investigating teaming up with the Republic it’ll be like NCIS Star Wars episode 🤣🤣
Awesome story! Thank you
coruscant underworld alwaays hella interesting
I find it funny how we all view the people rebelling against the republic as terrorists yet we call those rebelling against the empire rebels. We only say that because we know the full context and how the empire came to be, but imagine what some average random civilian on a mid-level floor of Coruscant thinks about the empire vs the republic. He would most likely be indifferent towards them. Just thinking eh whatever it’s just another group of power hungry rich old dudes who tax the crap out of us. It is what it is. 😂
Still the nicest hive EVER
Ngl I was blasting some Future when I saw this in my notifications I never turned off Future so fast in my life🔥🔥🔥
Bruh why not provide housing and jobs to increase loyalty to the republic💀
