The actors aging could be advantageously used. The 4th movie could be about how the second movie's 2015 became the real 2015 due to some event. The twist is that the real world exists in a dystopian timeline and its unfixable somehow.

I love how Marty’s whole character is set up in the beginning when he is late and Strickland calls him a loser like his dad. I mean he’s late, he couldn’t get to class ON TIME. The whole movie is based on on Marty using a working time machine, essentially making time his mistress. I love it (Edit)also “unfortunately Biff shows up” wouldn’t it be extremely fortunate Biff showed up since that what was actually needed for the better future?

I'm imagining a scenario where the mall is first called the "Pine Valley Mall" or something like that. Over consecutive time loops, Marty destroys all the pines, leading to the "Twin Pines Mall" and then the "Lone Pine Mall"
THEE MOST amazing and badass trilogy known to man. I miss the nostalgia of watching it with my grandad before he disowned me, man those were the days💯💯💯
One correction - Marty's 2015 home is not in Lyon Estates, it is in Hilldale. (they're parked right next to the sign) I've also always kind of wondered why they left a sleeping Jennifer in an alley instead of just leaving her in the car. Doc never said he drove Marty Jr. anywhere, only that he put him to sleep. But then of course we wouldn't have had the scene of Marty's future.
Fun fact, my father was a high school teacher in La Crete, Alberta and ordered this film when it came out for it to be shown in the high school gym. The town didn’t have a movie theatre and charged $4 a ticket and the school made a fortune off a community of just under 3,000 people.
this film series is so enjoyable to watch!!! i love the continuity with the ancestors, and the transitions. i forgot about this movie until i watched stranger things s3, and it reminded me of how incredible this series is! the repeating plot works because the stakes get higher and higher each time. the protag finds himself in situations that increasingly difficult to escape, which is why no sequel is disappointing
@@djvaultz You're mistaking it. He says that the police left young Jeniffer at LYON ESTATES, but remember that older Marty and Jennifer LIVE at HILLDALE. Lyon Estates Is where Marty used to live his youth along with his parents and brothers
Now here is a long theory so keep calm and read on. I love Part II firstly because it's not the same film twice like many sequels are. Secondly unlike the other 2 this film doesn't involve the DeLorean breaking down and having to find a solution to get it up to 88 miles an hour. Part II is very misunderstood. The whole story of the Almanac was merely a side story, the point of that was this is what happens when money ends up in the wrong hands. The real side to Part II for me is Marty and his problem with being called a chicken. It is only my theory but I think Doc took Marty and Jennifer to the future so Marty could see for himself what a loser he has become but without actually telling him. It was at that point on that Saturday morning in 1985 when they were going to take the truck to the lake, have a romantic weekend and then just as it all seems too perfect now that Marty's family are wealthy, the very next morning they come back from the lake, encounter Needles and Marty hits the Rolls Royce and his life is ruined. (Ironic that it happened right next to their future home Hill Dale which would later be a run down area) If you look at the start of Part II (which was remade due to a new actress playing Jennifer) when Marty asks Doc do they become arseholes, Doc hesitate's and then says no. So into 2015 Doc disguises Marty as his son so he will go into Cafe 80's with everyone assuming he is Marty Junior and telling him what a loser Marty Senior is giving Marty some thought. So when they go back to 1985 (unaware the Almanac has changed everything) they return in the evening and that way Marty and Jennifer don't go to the lake now that it's too late and therefore avoid meeting needles the next morning. This was hidden so well in Part I and then we see in Part II, 3 times he is called a chicken and 3 times he causes mayhem. The third time in which all he had to do was walk away from Biff with the Alamanc but let him get to him and his other self hit him with the door and lost the Almanac and although he got it back Doc ended up back in 1885 and Marty even admitted it was his fault at the start of Part III. Being hit by himself with the door was symbolic meaning if you try to prove yourself to idiots like Biff and Needles you are your own worst enemy. Hence Doc's catch phrase: "The consequences could be disastrous." And in Part I: "Anything you could do could have serious repercussions on future events!" Which you could say was a hint of what was to come in Part II and III. So now Marty is punished for his mistake by going back to a time and place where Cowards and "Chickens" are not welcome, 1885 in the Old West. But thankfully he bumped into his ancestors, Seamus and Maggie Mcfly and they tell him at the county fair about Seamus's brother Martin Mcfly who also ended up paying the price for trying to prove himself. This got Marty thinking, for example his father George who was a push over in 1955 and what Strickland said at the very start of Part I: "No Mcfly ever amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley!" Later Seamus once again gives the hint to Marty on the morning he is supposed to meet Tannen saying he felt like his future depended on it. Marty then stops worrying about what people think of him and therefore goes to back 1985, avoids that accident with the Rolls Royce and with Doc giving one final piece of advice: "The future isn't written yet, the future is whatever you make it so make it a good one, both of you!" Now this was a long theory but that is what I think the secret to Part II is.
@Finnegan Because when Marty went back to 1955 Old man Peabody had 2 Pines and Marty ran over one of them! And he quotes: "MY PINE WHY YOU.....YOU SPACE BASTARD, YOU KILLED THE PINE!"
I had forgotten about the part where Doc held the whiskey and told the whole story, and they asked how drunk he was, and they said he hadn't touched it. I literally LOL'ed. 😅 Thanks for that!
I love how from the the first scene to the last scene it’s only like, 2 days, from Marty’s perspective, it’s like 2 weeks, and from the earliest event to the last event, it’s 130 years
Back to the future 3 was the easiest on the eye,had the funniest sense of humor and id argue that it is on par with the 1st one as the best, the second one was the most complex and tied everything together, also introduced the idea of Parallel universe and timelines splitting which I thought was really cool introducing us to that,2nd is the most mind bending if Christopher Nolan was going to make a retro Sci Fi in the 80s id imagine it would be eerily similar to the second installment.
I'm a little surprised that noone mentioned how many times Marty died during the trilogy. If you think about how many predicaments Marty got into and how conveniently the Doc was there each time at the precise moment to save him, it's because they'd already done that but Marty died the first time. Doc then went back in time with the knowledge of Marty's death to save him from that particular situation this preventing his death by being at the exact right spot with the exact way to save Marty. Such as Part 2 when Marty jumps off the roof of Biff's casino, got else would Doc know to be at that exact spot at that exact time? Because originally, Marty jumped to his death or the tunnel scene when young Biff tries to run over Marty but Doc just happened to be there with the flags to pull him up.
As many times as I have seen this movie and always notice different details... like when George ordered the chocolate milk and slammed it down, the chocolate milk splashed on Mr. Carruthers shirt, he noticed but couldn't say anything. The other thing I noticed was how in "1955" each time Biff crashed into the manure truck, I see the name: "D. Jones Manure Hauling" and when they were back in "1885", Biffs great grandfather Maddog fell into the manure trailer that read: "A. Jones Manure Hauling"!
I gotta tell you, I've watched a lot of UA-cam videos on various topics, but this is one of the best videos about one of the best movie trilogies I've ever seen. Great job. (I had to back it up a couple of times to clarify a point or two). Thank you for the great recap.
The things I love about time travel films is when something happens where the time machine is broken and has to be left to the future person to fix the time machine to save the time traveler with a broken time machine
A little easter egg: At the opening of the movie, when you hear the radio anouncer say that October is inventory month, and mentions that all Toyotas are on dale at Statler Toyota. Look closely in BTTF pt 3, when Marty is walking through the small town, you can clearly see a shop on the side with a sign that reads Statler Blacksmith!😊 Pretty cool
At 17:55 when the narrator is confused that the great great grandma looks like Lorraine when it’s George’s family is explained in the Back to the Future wikia page. Either George’s family had a an attraction to people who like Lorraine’s family, or George and Lorraine are distant relatives.
I think they likely are distant relatives. BTTF Part 2 establishes that George McFly was born in 1938 (it’s written on his tombstone), making him 17 years old in the events of the first BTTF film. Well, 1885 is 53 years before 1938. Seamus and Maggie McFly are George McFly’s ancestors, and assuming they’re in their 20’s or 30’s in 1885, they’d have had to been born in the 1850’s or 1860’s: 80 or more years before George McFly was even born. It’s totally possible in that time that Lorraine Baines was ALSO a descendant of Seamus and Maggie McFly. I mean, her last name is Baines because that’s her father’s last name. It’s not actually mentioned what her MOTHER’S maiden name was. Her mother could be a McFly or descended from them all we know. Or even her father could be descended from them via a female line, which eventually lead to his family having a different last name. It’s not reallly that odd as lots of distant cousins marry and had no idea whatsoever that they were related in some manner.
@@thelmapeers3424 you don´t understand: at the start of movie 3 Marty spots a thomb stone from Doc with says Your beloved Clara. In the same time line of 1955 the Ravine is still called Clayton Ravine after the teacher who felt down that ravine in 1885. So this is a real error. After Marty was supposed to be felt off the name changed to Eastwood Ravine. If Doc and Marty didn't save Clara she would have been fallen in the ravine hence the name Clayton Ravine. So that tomb stone cannot have her name in the same time line.

I wish my grandfather made it to October 2015 he was almost there. He’s the reason why I like this trilogy.
Well in the first film he was in the 50s for a whole week
@@hunnerd4566 I think ya' replied to the wrong comment somewhere along the timeline because the two don't mix, Doc ^^'.
Sorry for your loss, TheHanjoe300. I know grief is a heavy burden to bare from recent experience unfortunately, lost my sister to suicide a few months ago. Here's hoping we both get through it okay.
I know this is very old but sorry for your loss. I just wanted to say that my great-grandpa’s funeral was on BTTF day. Just a little fact I find kind of funny.
These films are so great. The first one is absolutely amazing then the 2-3 punch wrapped it up beautifully.
This took a lot of preparation to produce. I loved the trilogy - and you brought me back in time. Thanks so much, Great job!!

I really hope you guys do go over the animated series and the telltale game, and I also would love it if they would continue this universe with another movie, or TV series even. To counteract the actors aging, they could use CGI, I don’t think that many people would complain. I know I wouldn’t, as long as it was good
Nah The Trilogy ended perfectly no need for more nor a remake and Rick and Morty is like an enhanced Back To The Future anyway
The actors aging could be advantageously used. The 4th movie could be about how the second movie's 2015 became the real 2015 due to some event. The twist is that the real world exists in a dystopian timeline and its unfixable somehow.
"Great Scott!" It's awesome to really go through this timeline with all of the time periods and events affected by our puffy jacket-wearing, guitar-shredding McFly! Keep it up!
Well I didn't even notice that Marty McFly's girlfriend was actress between parts 1 and 2 of Back To The Future.
Yeah, the actress from the first BTTF couldn't return for Part 2 due to taking care of her ailing mother if I remember correctly
You mean was a different actress in parts 1 and 2
Yes and she returns for 3

Imagine if Doc and Marty had destroyed the DeLorean immediately after getting back from 2015, they would’ve been stuck in the Biff universe!
Plot twist, Back to the Future is a movie that recounts real life events, but it happened in an alternative universe to ours.
Double plot twist: the back to the future trilogy shows various alternative timelines being combined.
I love how you incorporated several of the movie quotes into your explanations.
So much nostalgia.
Even in childhood I can still remember every scene in the back of my mind.
I'm such a fan that when they released the trilogy on DVD, I went to Best Buy and was almost late for my final exam. After taking my test super quick, I went home and started watching it. Oh and I got an A on my exam. Great Scott!
Love BTTF, and I like the video, thank you for taking your time to do this. The Marty timeline is interesting; but I do think the "Timeline of Doc Brown" would super cool to see broken down.

I remember taking the Universal Studios tour as a kid and it going through the clock tower square set. It's crazy how small the set it actually is. Goes to show you that the movie crew did a wonderful job making the town bigger than it really was.

I love all 3 back to the future movies! Very good job on putting timeline in order here on this video!💯
I own all 3 movies, I've watched them a dozen times, why'd I watch this? Because it's Back to the Future that's why!

Doc brown: You gotta come back with me Marty!
Marty: Back where?
Doc brown: Back... to the timeline!

According to this video it's the Twin Peaks Mall lol
In the future, Marty and Jennifer live in Hilldale not Lyon Estates.
THEE MOST amazing and badass trilogy known to man. I miss the nostalgia of watching it with my grandad before he disowned me, man those were the days💯💯💯
Big Fan of the channel, and the time it took to edit the whole project, well done.
It's looks like time travel into really remember reel feel like flash back past life look back at movie made into reel life
"We're only going to focus on Marty's adventure" aka this isn't an actual timeline but just a summary of each movie 🤦♂️
Great Scott! This is one of the best summaries of the trilogy. Thank you!
My all time favorite trilogy - I ll always be young at heart with dreams of time travel a possibility one day, somehow, sometime in the future

Yes. Came to the comments to see if anyone caught it. Good eye.
A timeline of a movie about timelines!? MADNESS!
Twin Peaks Mall has got to be one heck of a trippy shopping experience!!!!!
This is amazing by getting the entire trilogy in chronological order without having to watch or buy the DVD series
Love this trilogy. You explained so good, I now want to see the movies again

Great theory
Great theory 👍🏻

Back to the future is one of my number one favorite movies
I had forgotten about the part where Doc held the whiskey and told the whole story, and they asked how drunk he was, and they said he hadn't touched it. I literally LOL'ed. 😅 Thanks for that!
I love how from the the first scene to the last scene it’s only like, 2 days, from Marty’s perspective, it’s like 2 weeks, and from the earliest event to the last event, it’s 130 years
its about TIME we got a timeline for these movies **insert laugh track here**
*badam tsss*
*that credit music plays*
Jones Manure Hauling"!
this channel is way too underrated
I gotta tell you, I've watched a lot of UA-cam videos on various topics, but this is one of the best videos about one of the best movie trilogies I've ever seen. Great job. (I had to back it up a couple of times to clarify a point or two). Thank you for the great recap.
I love this trilogy and have seen these 3 films 100 times
The things I love about time travel films is when something happens where the time machine is broken and has to be left to the future person to fix the time machine to save the time traveler with a broken time machine

R.I.P Pine Tree
THERE IS A TELLTALE GAME!! how did I not know this, I'm totally buying that right now.
A little easter egg:
At the opening of the movie, when you hear the radio anouncer say that October is inventory month, and mentions that all Toyotas are on dale at Statler Toyota.
Look closely in BTTF pt 3, when Marty is walking through the small town, you can clearly see a shop on the side with a sign that reads
Statler Blacksmith!😊
Pretty cool
@@matthewcastleton2263 100% possible man! It’s actually Lorraine Baines btw.

The ravine cannot be called Clayton Ravine in the same time the thomb stone says Your beloved Clara...
That's because Marty is a timetraveller, his memories are of the unaltered 1985 and cannot be changed.
*plot hole detected*
@@thelmapeers3424 you don´t understand: at the start of movie 3 Marty spots a thomb stone from Doc with says Your beloved Clara. In the same time line of 1955 the Ravine is still called Clayton Ravine after the teacher who felt down that ravine in 1885. So this is a real error. After Marty was supposed to be felt off the name changed to Eastwood Ravine. If Doc and Marty didn't save Clara she would have been fallen in the ravine hence the name Clayton Ravine. So that tomb stone cannot have her name in the same time line.
The Back to the Future Game is pretty great. I love how it continues the storyline without treading on the original trilogy
