  • My pain is back. It's most likely a result from my poor eating choices while on my daddy/daughter date with Lily in Cleveland, OH. I began fasting in an attempt to heal.

Hey Justin, I've been Keto since Feb. and if I need a reset I go to scrambled eggs cooked in bacon grease. Bone broth sounds good too. I too follow Dr. Berry because I needed to get off of my 8 prescriptions. I am no longer on any meds. Honestly I do hurt from time to time but it's better to be holistically healed then by a bunch of meds. God bless your family.

I did a 7 day fast (with water mixed with electrolytes)…and went through some light-headedness during the fast..but my pain did go away. Caution, however, the worst part was the starting eating again. Be careful and eat very little in the beginning…and nothing that is difficult to digest. Chew everything a lot because your gut will be asleep (and it will be lacking certain enzymes to break down the food). Good luck.

Justin, you may want to consider testing for food sensitivities. I used a company called Everlywell and once I eliminated the 100% of food I was highly sensitive too and about 95% of food I was moderately sensitive too I rarely have any pain now.

Thats true bc I used to eat a lot of shrimp - tastes good, low cal, protein, inexpensive, easy to prepare. Well, turns out Im sensitive to it & it had me sick in many ways. Who knew? Bc I didnt hav mouth swelling, just internal upset, feeling lousy & pain.

I’ve watched your videos for quite a while and there’s a theme that runs through each one without exception. You have a time problem getting things done, you can’t find things, you spend a great deal of time looking for the lost things and can’t seem to figure out how to solve the time issues, the lost things, etc. I’ll bet you can figure out the answer to all these problems with one solution.

Organization is key, however everything isn't locked in place. So anyone with multiple children knows it's easy to pass judgment but reality you can't make them put things up 100% of the time.

He has no organizational skills. He is milking cows one minute. He will then go in the kitchen to cook. He depends to much on his children for work. They can help but cannot run a farm. He needs to hire some farm workers. Plenty of people that need work. He needs to eat, starving never is the answer.

Saw that deleted comment... when my wife and I were in farm planning stages, before we bought our farm, the gov. Approved planner we consulted asked if we had kids, we said 2, he said will you have more? It was his opinion that children and their contributions were vital to the success of small to medium farms. Wishing you both good health!

Justin, please consider that the weather is changing. As it gets colder, many people with health problems, like yours, start to feel more pain. My husband has the same disease and the pain/swelling comes and goes regardless of what he eats or does. He has taken many medications over the years (which have helped get him walking again) but he has finally decided that (unless it gets unbearable again) that he will "ride out the ups and downs".....And there are always ups and downs.

I live with chronic pain, something I am working with a GI doctor about is if my body is missing something when trying to absorb food. It makes me wonder since his is clearly related to food, if his gut is missing something when trying to absorb or breakdown food and in turn causing pain.

Please put a pin of some sort in the hay bin that is hanging by a literal thread. Accidents happen all the time, especially with curious kids around. Your manure from over wintering your animals is such a bonus for the land. Find Jonah a card table for his legos, he needs to use his mind while he is sitting and he is very creative with the legos. All your kids are keepers, keep them safe.

I just wonder if you could make it easier on your body if you streamlined some of your chores. I have always wondered why you don’t have more permanent fencing on your homestead. Some outer perimeter fencing, maybe a few cross fences, lanes wide enough for chicken tractors. At least then you wouldn’t have to use so many electric fences that you have to press into the ground with your poor feet. Somehow I think a combination of permanent fences and electric fences would make chores easier. Just a thought from a farmer in California

I’ve just started fasting and only eating once a day and omg I’m completely pain free. I didn’t think it was possible. I eat every meal clean and intentional with my one meal. I wish I knew this earlier I’ve even in the past had Cortisol injections in my feet for the pain. Fasting is so unbelievably amazing.

Magnesium. Collagen. And if you haven't done multi day fasts before. 1-2 days is a better starting point and 3 max. Especially if you plan on doing life as usual, along side with it. And you'll figure out how those might conflict. Within 2 days of only having liquid. And then you can figure out when your body hits an equilibrium with that. "Calm" makes good magnesium, atleast the plan version without any other vitamins. And "great lakes" makes good collagen.

I deal with persistent yeast issues, which I largely manage by diet. I notice that if I deviate, it's 1 to 3 days later when I notice. I would guess the trip with Lily when you went off your diet is what caused the pain. (And only you can really decide when a treat is worth the pain. Sometimes I just want some sugar, even though I know I'll have to deal with it afterwards.)
On the other hand, my father-in-law was having loads of foot pain for a while, and it turned out to be plantar fasciitis.

fasting is amazing on its health benefits. I have been Intermittent fasting for 2 years now with the occasional 48 hr fasts. I have done it primarily for weight loss and to control calories, but I also had inflammation. the I.F. has helped greatly with both controlling body composition (fat loss) without losing muscle and almost eliminating inflammation. Hope you are successful and feel better soon.

Justin I am a recently retired teacher, and I have so much respect for the way you learn and teach with your children. They are thinkers because you and Rebecca value their opinions. I’m very sorry about your hurting feet especially when you are missing an awesome partner (Jonah). I don’t know if you read every comment so you may miss this one however, years ago I was teaching but I went to a harvest feast and took a hay ride into the village, but on the way out the ride was no longer running. I had to walk only a half mile to my car. That night I stood up from my bed and fell to my knees and I had to crawl to the restroom. I was in agony from the pain in my feet. The next day I went to a local shoe store and it was recommended that I purchase arch supports, not the soft ones. The hard 3/4 hard arch supports. It was like a miracle after a few days I was able to walk pain free. I don’t know if you have tried them but if you haven’t please try them. They may not work but maybe they will help at least until the reactive arthritis gets better. Please forgive my lengthy comments. I wish I could just pick up my phone Anne give you a quick call. God bless you and your beautiful family.

Keeping you all lifted up in prayer and hoping you and anyone in the path of Ian get through without any issues. I had only moved here to Middle Georgia from Fort Myers not but 4 months ago here it will be this coming month on the 4th. I am saddened by the extreme devastation left behind at the place I made home for 12 years of my life. To think had I not moved from down there when I had, to where I am at now, how very different things would more likely be for me right now and I would not be able to be on here viewing this video and leaving this comment. I know many others are not as fortunate. I have many friends and family down there and I am wrecked with the fact that I can't be down there to help any of them should they need it. Those not yet heard from I am hopeful will be okay and just lacking power and the ability to get online or make contact with anyone yet at this point. By now you know what you didn't say in this video which its back at a cat 1 but I believe you all are still in the dark pink meaning the risk for flooding is possible. I sure pray not but anyone out there who might be going through anything from this monster of a storm I feel for yas and will keep all of yas in my thoughts and prayers. Jess those pups are sooo adorable. I was going to say you need a good Aussie Shep on the farm (big grin). Bear seemed interested and surely so did Katie-girl. Love yas, be safe!!!

What helped me was eating fresh greens twice a day, orange mango juice daily, digestive plant enzymes to keep toxins out of my system faster and 1 cup of goat milk a day. Stay on stricter diet of 2 big helpings of greens small amount of meat twice a week is ok. Just try it for 2 weeks. I'm almost completely well after 4 years.

I have fat that my body was actually able to start using because my insulin finally fell to the point of my body being able to use the stored fat. "starvation phase" is really not a thing when you have the ability to use your stored fat. Converting fat into ketones is what happens. Maybe that would be easier for you to understand.

How would that work for him with the chores? Milking. Hoeing. String trimming. Etc. Henry has intervals of time where his dad takes him out of the Ergo and he runs around. But when Justin needs him on his back that’s where he should be. Better then being home and watching his dad and siblings go out the door without him. Being in the front is great for walks or doing some indoor chores like folding laundry. But not conducive for farm use. I ll bet he would still fuss if he was in the front simply because he probably just doesn’t want to be contained.

Try compression socks at night time. Your feet and legs will fill awesome in the am. I wear them every time I’m on an airplane as well. No swelling or pain.

I did a number of waterfasts to reset my immune system , longest 5 weeks. Works winders, hang in there 1st 5 days are the worst, after that you no longer hungry and healing starts, i worked during, its doable, plus the clarity of mind is always amazing.

Justin, have you looked into Oxalates? Oxalates cause pain all over in the long run. But the lactic acid causes your body to react with inflammation pretty quickly. Chocolate, peanuts are super high in Oxalates. A lot of people with Lyme and mold struggle with this.

My mum suffered terribly with food allergies when I was a kid. She did 7 days with nothing but water and slowly introduced individual foods. She found she was allergic to salicylates. It’s in tonnes of vegetables. She was also highly reactive to eggs. Discovering that change her life. I hope after your fast that you only introduce one food at a time to really pinpoint what is causing your problems. Good luck x
