- A draftsman is coming today to begin the process of designing our future dream home. Later in the day, Jonah was involved in an accident that resulted in him needing to go to the hospital. I address the situation with the viewers.

You may want to consider electric outlets at 36 inches above the floor. Just encase 1 becomes disabled
And I am sure they will consider wider doorways. Good tip, never considered the elec outlet ht.
Yes, and each on its own circuit. In my little rental 1/3 of the house, including bathroom and kitchen, and part of the living dining area is all on one circuit so if someone is running a hair dryer, that's it, no microwave, toaster, nothing or you blow the circuit. Not at all practical.

lots of parasites trying to steal peoples money by posing as the messengers that are helping society with free information that can bring people happiness and prosperity. Non believers for sure are the ones making money off a scam of any kind. "Non believers" as in those who have given up on any positive outcome of any kind or stopped expecting it all together. Tests on our faith. Don't forget in the darkness of war that the sky is a mirror, even if the fog makes it impossible for a time to even confirm that god indeed exists. Our cross is ours to bear, our choices to direct our souls, not to be judged or corralled into a mob mentality based on politicized fear. It really depends on the leadership of independent churches, from best to worst. Just like when we are leading ourselves, sometimes we are not at our best some days we are. Anyways sorry for the rant bless you all stay safe stay together :)

I grew up in a passive solar house that my Dad designed. You could set your place it into the hillside, so that you can have a walk-out bottom floor. The hillside will insulate the house. If you want, I can email you about it. Love to you all & Jonah.

When I saw Rebekah post Jonah's accident I gasped. The next 6 weeks are going to be so hard without your right-hand man! We only have two small-breed cows and a dozen chickens, but when my oldest hurt his foot so he couldn't walk for a week, it was a CHALLENGE for the rest of us. I'm praying for extra speedy recovery for him, and a smooth month of moving animals and everything else without him.

I watched this video today. When you gave the news about Jonah and his bike wreck, I found myself lamenting about it, thinking about it, obsessing about it. I stopped and asked myself why I was so upset about people I have never met. The answer came to me like a bolt of lightning!!!! These are my people, my family, my friends!!! Prayers and well wishes for our boy Jonah for a speedy recovery. Justin, you are going to miss that boy during his recovery!!!! Peace to this family and to his siblings who without a doubt will pick up the slack.

First, prayers for Jonah's recovery. Next I want to express how I love hearing about your dreams & the beginning process being shown. Where dreams go is such a wonderful journey & from my life experience, things may or may not change course, but the important part is dreaming & moving forward with the dream. It's ok if the face of the dream changes as things evolve. Sometimes our dreams take us down a road we would've NEVEr imagined, but as years go by, understanding comes as to why our dreams go the direction they go. I’ve bust many a bone on dirt bikes, it happens, fix the bike, heal,up and learn from the mistake, then get back on the bike!
I suggest you do one floor. When you get older and might be sick, one floor is more available. If one of you get wheelchair bound, you loose the whole top floor. Just think about it.
But Can be used for guests
Now a days there are small lifts that can carry people upstairs.
But, yes if you can build one floor is better for when you get older.

Sending prayers for Jonah and the family during this hard time of him being in the hospital. You will always find some nay sayers in anything posted be it UA-cam Instantgram or any of the other sites. They most of the time don't even have a farm or a homestead and talk like they do, or know more than everyone. You have helped so many people, from the small things to the big things. Not only that, but how you bring your children up and how much they have learned and respect the land and you. They work hard and play hard.
Dreams can be just that we all know it. Think how far you have come over the years, and also all the people you have helped along the way. As far as a dream house, I love it being on the hill. Just make sure that you can get some sunlight into the house. That is so important for so many reasons.
Don't worry the kids will surely step up to help while he can't be doing his chores. I remember when they helped to do everything when you were down.
One of my favorite things is how you let the kids figure out problems and you let them do it, even if you know it might now work. It's letting their minds grow, and to know that you respect them. Our family’s dream is to homestead, we’ve got the land purchased but that took all our funds so a little bit longer, anyway… my kids and I LOVE watching y’all. It’s gives us so much encouragement. We are chomping at the bit to get started and sometimes it’s painful to just be in the waiting… but to learn from y’all while we are here is a gift! Our prayers have been with Jonah! Such a scary thing but so glad he is on the mend!!!❤
Dang Jonah....I lost my best friend in a dirt bike accident....be careful in the future and learn from it. Lily....I've had horses my entire life and still took a terrible fall and broke my back when I was 20....no matter what you do in life it all has risks...my grandpa was kicked in the back by one of his milk cows and he broke a rib...he came inside to lay down and when he laid down the rib pierced his heart and he died....learn from mistakes and keep going, don't give up, get better

You are sharing farming small scale but also sharing how to raise kids healthy and strong. There is alot of parent's that could use a role model on how to appreciate there children and how to work with them positively. To put family first above all. Thanks for sharing Jonahs accident. Praying that wonderful young man will be ok and heal quickly. Every child has broken something in their lifetime. I hope it will not scare him off of dirt bikes. My husband fell off a mountain mountain climbing and had a concussion and the following weekend he went back and climbed some more.

Omgosh, hope Jonah will be up and back at it soon! I went through a wood fence when my front wheel hit the half cinder block I used to keep the horse feed in place. Dad wanted me to give up the horse and get a mini bike because my horse would jump the fence (with me on it). Well, there was a strand of barbed wire on that old fence and when my bike hit the block as I was leaning to the left, I went airborne and I saw the tire bend the fence board and bam! I was on the ground. I went inside, mom saw me and passed out. My arm was a bloody mess dripping onto the floor. I refused stitches... I still bare the scars on my right arm 52 years later. I should have kept that horse.
