Hey friends :). I'll make this track downloadable from my Patreon if you want to listen to it forever!

Wow - you two knocked this out of the park!
I might have to have it played at my funeral - hopefully not for a while though! 😀
Great voice!!! You should really try more "niche" songs like Daughter of the Sea, Tale of the Tongues or We Will Go Home. Your voice would be perfect for it.
This is beautiful! Do you think you could make a video with lyrics on it? Or maybe put the lyrics in the description, please?
Omg ladies, you have all of my gratitude! Thanks for singing this song so beautifully.
Can you put this on Amazon Music?
Thank you so much for having me on board for this Malinda! You’re so radiant and it’s such a joy collaborating with you 🙏🏼 one of my fav songs!
Wow - your voices sound amazing together!
Is there anything she can't do? I enjoyed this very much. Thanks for this! :)
You both have Beautiful voices! I'm astonished and I'm not ashamed to say I cried listening to how beautiful this is.
I love this collab with Malinda. I hadn't heard of you here in England so I looked at your channel and you have a new subscriber! I love e.g. your cover of Scarborough Fair!

I just want Rachel to know she deserves all the subs in the world - I've been following her since 2019, and she's amazing
"I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil" The very thought these two great singers had covers this song nearly brought tears to my eyes!
Well said fam.
Well said.
Larry the Cable Guy could sing this and I'd still probably cry.
Okay, so I did cry...
I wish Tolkien could have heard this...
I agree. I feel like this is what was intended when it was written.
What a sweet sentiment. I wish he could have heard it too
Why do you think that he didn't? His mind created all of Middle Earth. This song was based entirely on his creation.
I just want to say that Jesus loves you so so so much and sees you in all of this, knowing what makes you laugh, cry, and jump around dancing. He does it with you all the time, and loves you so much more than you know. He knows so many things about you--your Creator and Hero. It's selfless love...which isn't romance, to help you understand. (Psalm 139 reference).
Sometimes, in the Christian community, we fail to reflect God's character because we think that we need to be perfect and completely put together as part of the false world system that satan has seeped into the church. But rather, we're meant to know God in our mess, and thus, He sanctifies us. Christians are broken people that God is bringing together again. And there's also too many fakers.
But God's main character trait? Love. Pure love. Selflessness.
He's everywhere, even here in your brokenness, and you can't hide from Him. He wants to have a relationship with you, and I've literally been in His Presence, having spiritual oil cool off my head and manifest on my hands.
I wish I could show you how real God is. How much He wants a relationship with you, and how that's what you were literally created for. It's not a lie. It's true, and no lie or emotion could make it untrue.
Ask Him to reveal Himself to you...please! His love is unconditional!
God is the only Hero there truly in in real life and He's so amazing! He saves us from death and sin so that we can be made new. He's exactly what we dream of without realizing it. He has saved us from death, sin, and hell...and all you need to do is believe, and let that belief cause a change in you. Let it cause repentance. Let it cause you to want God. Let it bring you into a relationship with Him. Please, try it out! Feel free to copy and paste this comment into any UA-cam comments section!
(Just don't copy and paste the following paragraph:) I want my channel to be all about God (I don't have much on it, though!) but if you want to know more, I have some stuff! You can also check out who I subscribe to...most of them post Christian content. (Some if it is kinda mature tho... Just a warning 😅).
God bless, love you all!!
This song still makes me tear up so much, LOTR has always been my favorite series for books and movies (including the 1900's animated ones). When my grandma was dying in the hospital, she was too far away for me and my parents to travel to her. So, I played this song on my tenor saxophone for her through a video call. I spent most of my childhood at her apartment, her babysitting me when I was young, helping me learn and improve my saxophone skills, was the inspiration for so many of my hobbies. One of my favorite things as a kid was to read the LOTR and Hobbit series while sitting next to her. And then through middle (junior high) and high school, I would play my saxophone by her. So, anytime I hear this song I just think of her and my childhood. It just makes me smile and tear up every time, remembering all the good memories I had with her. In a way, I can't wait till my day comes to go Sail Into the West and see her again.
This song was played at my wife's funeral, and I absolutely love this. Thank you so much!
I told my wife to do the same at the time of my death.
That's a brilliant idea actually.
I am sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace...
I played this at my husband's funeral too 💔
@@Siggerou1993 thank you! I'm sure she's living it up and checking in on me from time to time!
@@carriehazel77 you make good decisions! I'm sorry you had to go through that.
"Why do you weep?"
Have you heard yourselves?! How can I not? 😭
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
SAMMMMMME
I will not say "do not weep" for not all tears are an evil
I just ask myself "how can be a world with this AND war ?"...

My Uncle Steven passed away suddenly August 22nd 2023. He will be forever missed and loved-we adored our uncle!
We live on a farm and our Uncle would come often through out the year to visit for a few days. (He lived a few states away). He played the guitar and sang often for us kids. Uncle Steven and I would sit under the great pine trees of our woods and write poetry together. We'd take walks under the full moon for inspiration, gaze at the stars with my siblings, laugh and wade in the creek. He and I would talk for hours about Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. He loved LOTR- he is the reason I love the fantasy worlds of Middle Earth and Narnia!
When he fell asleep in Jesus, that night I stood outside, looked to the heavens and sang this song for him.
Thank you Malinda and Rachel for the most ethereal cover of this song. You both did this beautiful song justice and you have the voice of Angels.
Beautiful, God bless.
@@robertortiz-wilson1588 Thank you, God bless you too sir!
My gf introduced me to this lovely song and reacquainted with the incomparable Ms.Lennox, whom I hadn't heard since her "walking on broken glass" days...this song gets me thinking of her when we're apart...
Your version of this song is almost as inspiring as my beloved😊
Beautiful work, well done to you both👍
OMG, I am crying from this. My wife and I loved these movies, and she loved this song. What's more, your voices are very similar to hers, so it takes a little of the sting out of her passing. Thank you so much, Malinda.
❤
I've asked my son to have this played as part of my remembrance service when I shuffle off this mortal coil.
@@fidelogos7098 Can you explain ( Mortal Coil ). I just can't understand them used that way. Never heard that before.
@@Sony_75 I'm not sure what you're asking? Mortal coil is a term Shakespeare used to talk about dying. He used it in Hamlet's To Be or Not To Be soliloquy "shuffle off this mortal coil" to refer to dying. I meant that I wanted my son to use this song at my funeral. The idea of going into the West and "just sleeping" pleases me..
I am so sorry for your loss but glad you have heard beauty that removes some pain. I lost my wife young as well. I also listen for beauty in song to salve the pain. Peace to you.
This was played at my mum's funeral 3 months ago. It hits hard to hear this song. Thank you for such a beautiful cover
Thank you for sharing this simple little thought. It alone made me nearly start crying while I listened too the song. Hope you’re doing well, and I wish you a good day
My condelences. We also played it on my fathers funeral 3 years ago.
I'm so sorry for your loss ❤
Oof ladies, you've got me cryin'. D: Your voices combine so beautifully!
Hey there! Nice to see you here^^
I love your profile name. I have named my violin Hildegard.
You know you're good when Blingin' The Great speaks positively of you.
This song was partially written in tribute to a friend of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, who died of leukeamia while they were filming.
I lost my dad to lung cancer in 2017 and every time I hear this song I think of him and cry. He loved LotR. After his passing we read a poem about the ships sailing away from our plain to the shores of the afterlife. Great work you two
I sing this song to my son when he's upset and won't go to sleep. I can't express how much I love it.
Malinda's voice makes for such a change from Annie Lennox's version. They are both gorgeous.
Fantastic idea - I've been singing Groban's Lullaby and it's getting old for me. This definitely makes a good lullaby.
Whatever rendition I hear, this song never fails to bring me back to the 12 year old boy sitting next to his dad on opening night of the Return of the King, processing his feelings at the journey he had spent 3 years invested in.
I still return to the trilogy quite a lot.
Excellent cover!
I hope to play this song, this version, at my wife's - the love of my life for 50 years- at her funeral. She caught early, premature, Alzheimer's & now covid-19,... . She recovered from covid, but is failing more. Soon, we will be playing this song for her.
Have faith my friend
There MUST NOT HAVE BEEN a dry eye in the recording studio during this performance. Absolutely soul-rending, heart-melting.
This is by far the most beautiful cover of this song I've ever heard.

@@mandyphilip4781 i like it but she doesnt really have that weight to her voice
I think that’s why it worked. It was nice hearing somebody with a light voice sing it.
Mandy Philips, she doesn't have the weight to the song.Let me and other people listen to you sing it, I guess you can do better ! And don't forget, PICKERS CAN'T BE CHOOSIE !
This was the song I used at my son’s funeral. Can’t ever listen to it without completely breaking down…
This is an incredible version. Please keep doing what you’re doing!
That made me cry hard tears devastating me. I hope you will see Your little boy again.
“No parent should have to bury their child.”
I know it means little coming from a stranger, but I’m sorry you had to.
I'm so sorry for your loss Michael
Un tuffo al cuore. Tuo figlio vive nei tuoi pensieri evocati da queste meravigliose canzoni 🥰 Heartbreak. Your child is alive in your thoughts evoked by these wonderful songs
"Alas, that these evil days should be mine. The young perish and the old linger. That I should live to see the last days of my house..."
Very rarely do I find a cover of this song that is even close to Annie Lennox’s version. But y’all killed it in this!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, flawlessly rendered by the most beautiful voice of this generation.
This is the most beautiful version of this song I have heard.
Absolutely!
Yes it is. I like it better than Annie Lenox’s version!
Agreed, this one gets me again and again.
This version is also pretty good.

That duet was awesome, adding a flute was a perfect idea: thank you both for this piece of musical beauty.

But when I'm listening to this song, is this Snoop Dog or a stoned recorder?
Or is it a low whistle? ;-)
I'm a full-on metal head, but this gave me shivers at the very first verse.
Simply stunning.
I should add and clarify, Rachel's contribution was no less fantastic. Brilliant work.
I feel it’s a very metal head thing to love lord of the rings haha.
Memories of my childhood... of my baby brother. I don't know how long I've needed this cry, but thank you both for such a beautiful cover!
Rest in peace, Nikki; we'll meet again.
Sorry for your loss ❤️
You should make covers of all the LOTR songs... you do send chills down spines for sure! Beautiful voice Malinda!
Or the Bilbo Baggins song!
Cannot get though this without tears in my eyes because that is how beautiful this is. Thank You.
I chose this for my mothers funeral, which was a few months after the song released, both for the meaning and because she loved Annie Lennox. This is an absolutely phenomenal cover, you captured all the power and majesty of the original. 19 years later and the song still hits the emotions hard.
Lost my sister to cancer a few years ago, this song hits really hard. ❤ Thank you for this. Even though it's years later, I'll be playing this on her birthday.
I salute you my friend
I love the way she said "safe in my arms" the way the words flowed was really beautiful. especially the last two words
If I ever need to cry, I just come here and listen to this. It always brings out all the emotions.
Two of the best vocalists together. Amazing.
This song is wonderful. I had it played at my wife's funeral service. She loved that song as did I. It is sad yet also joyous. I never tire of hearing its plaintive melody and lyrics. These ladies do it justice with their clear and melodious rendition of it. Thank you ladies for singing this song.
I absolutely adore your facial expression when you are singing... you surely are in your happy space when you are singing... makes me also happy just watching.
Been a fan since your church video and will follow all your content
I agree with you too! 💓
Maybe someday I will be able to listen to this song without weeping, but today is not that day. Thank you for this beautiful and haunting cover of a beautiful, haunting song.
Chills and chills. 💓 What a gift you have given us all.
Thanks Ladies! 🥺😭 Everytime I hear that song, I remember my old granny. She passed away 4 years ago now. She’s still here… resting in my heart!
This moved me to tears, which is a once in 10 year thing for me. I want this played, this version, at my funeral.
My gramps passed into the West today, and often have I played this song in recent days knowing he would do so. This helps bring solace and some peace to mind as he departs. Thank you to both of you for chucking this beautiful take on Annie Lennox’s song so that I may think of him always now.
Sympathy, & you are smart to attatch this beautiful dong to the memories of him. Some music, like this, really helps!
@Captain Peyton Busybeard I am so sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my final grandparent in October and my cousin not a month after. May manwë guide you to your grandfather when it is time
Why do I weep? What are these tears upon my face? It's me taking in all the beauty of this song.
This song will never fail to be magnificent.
I got chills when both of the ladies came in together on the song, the cover of this song was done so well, great job.

This woman is a musical banquet.
Gorgeous inside and out.
@Malinda , ohh my dearest Lady. You have touched my heart. This song is one of the ones that so reminds me of my youngest daughter Sara who was 8 yrs young when she was touched by Gods loving hand and taken home over 17 yrs ago. But her golden hair and shining light blue eyes that mached the Ray's of the sun through the clouds, still is ever present in my minds eye. As I sing this song to her memory I see her playing on the swings, giggling and laughing w her sisters. Thank you, thank you for assisting me in seeing my daughter again, even if for a moment. 🎵💙🎵🌸
❤️💡
I love this song. It makes me cry every time I hear it. I think I want it played at my funeral

Who said grown men don't cry? Well I am very grown and I am in tears. Call me what you like, BUT I have choosen the song I want sung at my funeral and it will be by these two angels. I pray to GOD for more time, but we never know and no matter if it's from 20 yrs (I pray), I want this version. WOW
Malinda sings with a light touch, as though her body were always floating - a voice that is especially great to combine with more earthy ones. Love this.
Literal chills at those harmonies at the end. I'm listening to this before i go to bed every night.
The more I hear Irish music, the more I believe it to be the most emotional music ever created!!! Amazing.
My high school choir performs this song every year at graduation. So many feels associated with it!😊
The best version of into the west by far:) Malinda is dreamy and sings the most beautiful rendition with such control, luscious tone with wonderous empathy to the song's gracious lyrics of what it is like to experience the elves eternal sleep into the west. Rachel also brings you into the world of elves regarding death and afterlife with her gift transporting you into the world she is singing about. One of my favorite songs and favorite renditions forever. It makes the end of all of our journey optimistically last forever and ever here "in my arms". Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart to you.
Geez that chorus always hits me like a wave! Absolutely sobbing. So beautiful❤️
This is the most beautiful song I've ever heard, your voices are as if coming from heaven. In tears every time I lessen to it.
Listening to this version of Into The West sent shivers down my spine. The two of you preformed this song perfectly.
I sang this song to my children when they were babies... hearing two of my favourite singers do a version of what is already a great song.. 👌
There is something absolutely soothing about a meaningful message sang in ethereal tones by talented female voices. Especially to males. Not exactly my style of music but I’m glad I stumbled upon this, it absolutely grabbed my attention and brought forth a feeling of comfort and peace with a tinge of longing, or deep sorrow or both that I didn’t even know existed inside of me. What in the world did you just do to me?!
Agreed joy and sorrow, peace and longing; and that flute just racks up the ante.
Oh god, I'm crying. One of the loveliest songs on earth. Performed magically. I'm really crying, and the kids don't know why. 😊
I feel like I've endured the greatest most strenuous journey and have come to the end, feeling weary and drained. When suddenly a magical being telling me it's done now, rest. You have come home at last 🥲
lt is so touchingly beautiful in the lyrics and the beautiful ladies' voice, too. Thank you. 💚💐💐🙏🕊
Somehow I'd never heard this version until now. Okay, UA-cam, your recommendation algorithm was SPOT ON. This is by far the most stunning version of this song I've ever heard, and this from someone who spends a ridiculous amount of time listening to the extended soundtracks for all three LOTR movies.
I'm just amazed at how beautiful this sounds. Thank you Malinda and Rachel!

These ladies own this song. Never done, or will be done, better.
Nah, sorry, Annie still did far better. It's classic and made for her voice
This is the song I’ve been singing to my kids at bedtime for years. For some reason hearing this version felt like friends were singing it to me, and it helped me feel less alone as I try to get my newborn back to sleep ❤️
Best version ever; no shouting. It really flows beautifully.
Marvelous rendition ladies. I could listen to it on loop and never tire.
As a veteran and a lover of history, this song makes me think of a poor lad breathing his last on a distant green field, pock-marked by shell holes and enshrouded by smoke. He is seeing beyond the veil of this temporary life into the far green fields and white shores of the other reality. Theoden spoke of going to the hall of his fathers where he would not be ashamed; same for the lad in my imagination.
Heaven for me,something else for others.
I got serious chills listening to this. Just beautiful. Thank you.
Seriously, your music needs to be in feature films. I consider this cover better than the original. Your harmony is AMAZING!
Wow! Just wow!!! This gave my goosebumps places I didnt know I could get goosebumps! This is one of my favorite songs, and when you also get Rachel to be a part of it, this just gets better! Thank you both for this incredible version of one of the best song ever written!
Today would have been my grandmother’s 100th birthday. I remember listening to this song the night she died. She was a remarkable person. What a wonderful coincidence to hear such a lovely rendition of this song today...! Thank you for this.
++++ What a wonderful coincidence indeed!
May your grandmother rest in peace.
You nailed it. It is not just about the voice, it is the expression you have. Your performance matches exactly the emotions I feel
Thank you for this song. My grandfather passed away on the night of April 2nd so both my mother figure and I want to dedicate this song to him. This has helped both of us so much!
One of my best friends took his life and left me without a word. I've been grieving his loss for as long as I can remember, but this cover the gorgeous harmony of both your voices has brought me so much comfort. The tears I wept were tears of fond memories. Of a bittersweet ending. Thank you. ❤️
I'm so sorry for your loss. When you take your life you are only aware of your own pain, not the pain your loss will cause to others. I made a serious attempt on my life, but by a miracle God kept me on this earth. When I recovered I realised what my loss would have done to my loved ones and it changed my attitude for good.
An angelic combination of two beautiful voices.
Thank you , your music is amazing and beautiful!!!
Omg! 😳 I dare say that this is better than the original!! Wow!! Amazing!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Darn you UA-cam for not having a nuclear 'Like' button...this rendition is simply next level outstanding! Kudos to Malinda and Rachel for making this work of art!
Malinda, I had requested this a while ago on TikTok and I am SO thankful you were able to release it. I had used the original in a tribute video to my dog Molly who passed 11 years ago. How important was she and was this song to her passing? While you sang, tears were running down my face. Thank you both for a wonderful present. Miss you Molly.

so beautiful 💯❤️🤩 thank you for sharing this special moments with me it's appreciated I have the opportunity to get to listen to you ❤❤❤
I stumbled onto this cover and wow am I glad I did. The HARMONIES. You ladies did it better than the original. Bravo. Absolutely stunning.
My mom _loved_ the LOTR movies. The extended versions were never not playing in the background at her place, if she wasn't actively watching something else. She adored the closing title to ROTK more than any other, and used to ask me to learn it so I could sing it for her, that she thought my voice would be perfect for it. I always said I would learn it, but it was a hard one and I had other things I was focused on then. And then she died at age 56, just a couple of weeks before the extended release version of ROTK came out, and I never got to sing it for her.
I did learn it, though. I spent two weeks listening to it on repeat and crying, until I could make it through the song without dissolving entirely into sobs, and on the first anniversary of her passing, I lit a candle for her and I sang this. I hope she heard me and was as pleased as she always thought she would be with it.
I still can't listen to the song without crying, though. Sometimes I can sing through the tears, but they are always there.
❤️🌹❤️🌹
Before I listen to this: I am going to say that I read my father the Elvish Last Rites before he passed away, and played him this song. It means so very much to me. I'll edit this comment after I finish listening.
EDIT: I am an absolute mess of tears and that was better than the original. Thank you so much.
