Gather strength from the man in this video. I made an earlier comment that I thought the theme was one of recognition of loss but that it’s the cycle of life… and his commitment to share his music with the young of those who will succeed him. From a simple song, the producers have created a story that so many of us can identify with.
This was my late wife's favorite song since first hearing it at a Murphy's Pig gig. After she passed, I attended a Pig's show and requested it From John Graham but, sadly he said that he couldn't reach the high notes anymore. I was elated to see him the video, this time with a prettier singer than him. I have never really listened to Ella, but I was in tears hearing her, the memories of my wife flooding back. Thank you, John, for enticing me to listen and thank you Ella for such a beautiful rendition. I have a strong Celtic heritage and a love of Celtic music.
Only real love died just about 25 years ago. She was killed. Her name was Heather. Heather Marie. Im 42 years old now. My heart breaks everytime that I dream. We all know love. Some loves only come once. I hear this. And I wept. Not only for my lost youth. Yet I never could let go. No one ever. Thats on me. I thank you for this amd the amazing voice delivering it. Maybe one day I'll see my Heather again in more than just a dream.

I'm from Brazil, a country far away, by chance I discovered Celtic music a few years ago, since then I've always listened to it and this video was suggested to me, I was struck by the voice, the beauty of the singer and these spectacular images and I pray to God that in this life I can one day visit Ireland and Scotland is the origin of the songs I fell in love with
My Dad was a mountain of a man, I loved his red beard. The years faded away and he never got to see his 4 grandsons turn into the men he would be so proud of. All are mountains of men, sporting beards. The days go by so fast. Thank you for your beautiful music.
When I hear this beautiful song it brings back to times I held my dear wife as she was getting sicker and knew her time on this earth was coming to an end. She loved this song and it is a way that I can be with her in spirit for a short time. Thank you from my heart
Ella, my grandfather was the greatest man I've ever known. He passed away a couple months ago with the whole family around him listening to your singing. Thank you.
An exquisitely beautiful girl with an equally glorious voice... beautiful scenery...a beautiful song. If this doesn't reach your heart.. you don't have one.
Hello. I am a seasoned war veteran from the old country, and I have been on four international tours. During my deployments, if I had ever heard this song sung by this girl, I swear by the All Father I would have dropped my weapons (and my shield) immediately. This is so beautiful… Next time I am wakened by nightmares (yes, vikings also have bad dreams) I will rise, make some coffee and listen to this song a hundred times. No more war. Thank you so much from Tino, 🇩🇰 🎗🎗🎗
Dang. She's been gone 16 years, but I still miss my wife every day. To quote Willie Nelson, it's not something you get over, it's something you get through.
This song reminds me of a woman I loved deeply in another time and in another place, long after she left my life she left this earth, I miss her still.
Thank you Ella, you have made me go back a long time, you have made me remember my grandparents and my father. Your songs are hymns to the past and the present.
There is so much hope in this song. I lost my husband in an accident nine months ago, and this song helps me remember that my life isn't over - that there is life after loss. It makes it easier to keep going.
like to suggest, meaning only to help, that the NDE experiences you can view/read about on UA-cam suggest that we never lose each other but are joined all the time really...
God Bless you in your grief, but never forget that the human spirit, God given, is eternal and that your beloved husband is just waiting on the other side for the time when you're united forever.
What a beautiful song and your wonderful voice and performance. I dont know why we in Serbia love Celts and Celtic music so much but we love it! I wish you all the best from Serbia!
As a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, I have an affinity for the Irish people and the rendition of this song is simply astounding. I also really like how Ms. Roberts works her family into the video. Thank you very much for producing such a work of art. For an Australian you make a wonderful Irishwoman. :)
Losing my soulmate’s heart to Alzheimer’s this brings a little peace every time I listen to this beautiful lady’s beautiful voice, thanks for a few moments of peace - hopper from Louisiana
A.I. will never be able to create a voice with such feeling, values, brightness and perfection. Thank you for delighting our ears, eyes and mind in these strange times we are living.
Celtic music always speaks to my soul in ways I cannot put to words. Perhaps those words are known to the fair folk. The next time I swing by Tír na nÓg, I'll ask.
The landscape the whole scenery together with those beautiful dancers, your dress 👗, and overall your angelical singing, your voice... WOW lady, I'm amazed. Get ready because your singing will soon be in movies. I love you already ❤️
“Wild Mountain Thyme” is a truly wonderful piece of music. The gentle melody and the poignant lyrics create an emotional atmosphere that takes the listener on a profound journey. "Wild Mountain Thyme" is an example of the powerful combination of music and emotion. The combination of lyrical depth and musical sophistication makes this piece something very special. It is a masterpiece that captivates listeners and takes them on an unforgettable journey. Although the words of the song are touching in their simplicity and honesty, it is above all the music that creates the true magic of "Wild Mountain Thyme". The melodic and harmonic elements merge into a wonderful sound that penetrates deep into the soul and touches the senses. Thank you so much Ella 🥰 for this wondrous moment
A song like summer, you can almost smell the thyme when you listen to this wonderful Celtic rendition by one of its finest artists. Wonderful, dear Ella. 🥰
Ella~ You sing with the voice of a million Angels, Fairies and Goddesses ✨🪽🧚🏽♀️ Thank you Lassie for following your passion of singing…you have enriched millions of peoples lives with your voice ✨💖✨💖
This video is so beautiful yet powerful and sweet and kind. I lost my wife so I identify with the man with his guitar. Then just listening to Ella's beautiful voice and watching her graceful beauty touches that place in me that reminds me what it's like to be a man and feel it. Just perfect. Thank you angel.
This... actually brought me to tears. And I'm not entirely sure why. Is it because I know that I will never find the love that would make losing it hurt this much, or is it because I know that, if I did happen to find it, with my luck I would probably lose it anyway? Do I cry out of empathy for those that DID lose it? Or do I ultimately just cry for myself, for the loneliness that will most likely accompany me for the rest of my life? This is beyond beautiful. It transcends the regular measurements of art. I cannot explain it any better.
Ella I finally found your beautiful voice again. It was amazing seeing you and your brother in Balbriggan at the WCF. Look forward to seeing you again but more importantly listening to your beautiful voice!
Beautiful cover of this Scottish/Irish folk song 💗 Oh, the summertime is coming And the trees are sweetly blooming And the wild mountain thyme Grows around the blooming heather Will you go, lassie, go? Lady, if you new the way you caress my soul when I hear you singing these old village songs. As soon as I start listening to them tears will start pouring from my yes, it a overwhelming feeling, but not bad. I don't know how to explain it, I was born, raised and am based in South America, Brazil, and (like many Brazilians) am a result of African, Indigenous and Portuguese miscigenation, but there's something that connects me to the History of those lands that are now known as Great Britain and Ireland (and the suround), especially Scottland. I am christian and have faith in my religion, but if I didin't know any better, I'd say I had a past life in there, and it was a good one. Thank you for this blessing voice!
The story telling is wonderful, Her voice is as beautiful as she is. So greatful for this kind of peaceful sweet music. Unlike the garbage out there today.
I will be 61 in only a couple of weeks and I've never been to the lands of my ancestors, namely Wales and Ireland. But I know how hiraeth and fernweh feel so intimately. Homesickness for places I've never seen or could imagine. But thank you. Your voice and songs take me to long ago places and faraway times. Music has the property to transport us everywhere, and listening to you, I can come home. Again, thank you.

Surely, this is the queen of all Celtic peoples. Lovely.

I think it makes you sad because it’s heartbreakingly lovely.

I love this song so much. And when it gets me in the right mood, there is no holding back the tears. What a beautiful version of this song.
This... actually brought me to tears.

Beautiful song, beautiful, vocal, beautiful woman, and beautiful culture.
Beautiful... Thank you for this sweet music... (Souyh Africa)

Beautiful cover of this Scottish/Irish folk song 💗
Oh, the summertime is coming
And the trees are sweetly blooming
And the wild mountain thyme
Grows around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
I will build my love a bower
By yon clear and crystal fountain
And on it, I will pile
All the flowers of the mountain
Will you go, lassie, go?
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
If my true love, he won't have me
I will surely find another
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
Go, lassie go?
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
And we'll all go together
To pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will you go, lassie, go?
