In this video, I attempt to build an electric guitar out of resin. I have been using a lot of resin in my builds so far so I figured why not go all in and do one completely out of resin. I also build my first neck start to finish in this video.
The song I play in the demo at the end is Kazuki Isogai's arrangement of Just the two of us. The riff after that is something I made up.

Right he is insanely talented!!!!
Exactly my thoughts during the montage of him creating the neck... that thing is gorgeous!!
@@katydempsey813 Sure he has some talent, but more than anything he worked his butt off and probably had some great role models while growing up. But holy moly amazing guitar!
I can’t relate.
Do you sell your work?
Bro you need to start your own guitar brand.
@@kasper5688 just wait. Maybe in the future we could buy some of his guitars. Just wait
David Nwokoye agreed 👏👏
Agreed, there's one client here when you're ready🙋🏻
Yes. He need brand for guitar
Yeah, I hope he realizes that you can make art, and make it with the sole purpose of it being art, and still provide it for purchase at a premium. Half of the reason people buy certain guitars is the way they look. Embrace it and enjoy a little fruit of the labor.
I feel like sooner or later some musicians are gonna start buying some guitars from you.
Buying one of this was the first thing it came to my mind when I saw it
Like a lot of people, here, I’ve watched a shitload of “how-to” and “demo” type videos, many of which are way too long and fluffy. They move too slowly and are hard to watch without getting impatient.
This one is dense. It rocks. A lot is covered in a short period of time. Well-edited.
Most others posting similar videos would do well to emulate how this one was made.
Well done.
Call it the Jolly Rancher! Thanks for another great video
I second that name suggestion.
and then drop it in Zima!!
I would like to suggest Ring Pop actually. Reminds me more of those

Can you make a glow in the dark guitar next?
Haven't thought about that. Cool comment bro. I love the idea
Mayones did that already!
Or you could add LEDs in the build of another resin body.
That's a cool idea

DUDE. That displacing of the water was just such an awesome solution. Great problem solving!
+1, simple but elegant solution!
gotta love Archimedes
I agree, that was a very clever solution.
RaineyGames Archimedes, no!
Agreed. A great insight into the problem.
I've been watching your builds for almost 2 years now, and I think the reason I'm more fascinated watching your builds than the others, is mainly because you're neither a Luthier nor a full-fledged professional guitar player, so there's this level of "I don't how to do it, but Im gonna try" approach that I appreciate from you than any other guitar builder, you're not concerned with tonewood, nor you care about the type of pickups your gonna put in, you're also not concern with features a guitar should have, it's just fully a "build a cool looking guitar".
As they say, "Artists are their own worst critics." Amazing work you do.
The water displacement thing is super clever. Awesome!
It was a really nice idea, was pretty surprised. But he could have just calculated the volume of the guitar segments.
@@scorpioftw That would've been no fun because he's trying something new and innovating.
Scorpio FTW Also the guitar is not square, it has the diagonal on the face...
@@ulrikstokkebokjr4129 and? You can calculate the volume of everything. No matter the shape. And you can do aproximations to make it easier
Scorpio FTW absolutley you can mesure the volume of everything. But both timesaving and easier to do the water way👌
OMG dude.
Within 5 years Im sure i will see your guitars in music videos and on world stages.
Keep up these amazing works of art.
Videos, maybe. Stages, I don't know. All of them (except the styrofoam one I guess) turn out heavy due to the resin. Like, "significantly heavier than a full thickness, no weight relief Les Paul" heavy.
@@gryzew Actually, this one is a pretty normal weight. Normal electric guitars weight somewhere between 6 and 12 pounds. (So yeah it's still on the heavier side, but I doubt no one has played on stage with a 12 pound guitar.
@@nachostv4217 no it's not "pretty normal" man. As I said modern full thickness, non weight relief Les Pauls are lighter, usually they don't reach 10lbs (same for vintage 50s/60s ones for that matter) and that to me is a cut off for "chunky but normal". 70s and sometimes 80s Les Paul that had multi-piece pancake bodies are mythically heavy, and even though there are some legendary backbreaking ones that went into 13-15lbs overkill, usually they actually weigh like 10,8lbs. I have a vintage Fender Bass that's almost exactly 12lbs and that thing makes your thigh go numb if you play sitting down for a while, playing this standing up with a strap makes you walk around on stage like Darth Vader, stiff heavy steps. Sure there are some tough guys that run around showing off with a supposedly backbreaking 70s Lester, but this is a weight that you can't forget is there for the whole time you have it on. Good luck playing 2-3 hours shows with an axe that heavy on a regular basis. I seriously consider playing guitars in that weight range as detrimental to long term health, read: if you think it's fine cause your back and knees are good, you might be in for a bad back or bad knees in the long term.
@@gryzew Don't know mate, I googled average guitar weight and google told me between 6 and 12 pounds. So yes, still on the heavier side. But still in the boundaries of what Google considers average guitar weights.
@@nachostv4217 and then people wonder how come somebody can actually drive their car into a lake when Google Maps is telling them to. I just told you from personal experience how having a 12lbs axe feels like (I've also got quite a few people try out my 12lb bass and 100% of reactions were "oof, how can you play a whole gig with this"), and from knowledge of gear with known examples that they just don't make such heavy axes with modern manufacturing consistency. Also this is why acrylic bodied guitars never caught on.

this is one of my best guitar sound that i had been listening from youtube.
I've been using a lot of epoxy resin for my guitars to this point so I figured why not go all out and build one completely of epoxy.... I got a lot of request to build a clear guitar out of epoxy.. But there's tons of clear acrylic guitars already so I decided to go for something a bit different and make it multi-color. Also, getting a lot of comments about not putting truss rod in the neck. There is a double-action rod in there, just didn't film me installing it. You can see it on the end of the table at 4:22

that headstock shape is dope dude, you gotta license that if you haven't!
Yea, the head stock reminds me of a scalpel blade or a falchion. Very distinct and eye catching.
I agree should patient the whole concept of that guitar
@@petermatheson8757 Not sure he could do that, I'm pretty sure that Ibanez had been making resin/acrylic bodied guitars since the 80's/90's. But I don't think I've seen that style of head stock before, he may be able to trademark it for later if he wants to build a brand out of his guitars in the future.
Giovanni Di Marco I think the Ibanez bodies are Perspex routed and polished ... I may be wrong. Either way I doubt you could patent the body material.
Very good headstock design, like an exact opposite blade.
I'm glad you signed it. It sounds just as sweet as it looks. It reminds me of some of the candies I ate when I was growing up in 1960s. Outstanding.
I definitely appreciate how the light shines through the guitar.
I know nothing about guitars but I watch every video. Your artistry is amazing.
Put some glow powder in the resin to make a glowing guitar.
an led strip set in the resin, that pulsed to the music would also be sick
@@leonh1971 that's a lot of work. The led strip alone isn't to hard cause you can pull power from the audio cable form an amp. However, moving to the music would require an Arduino or at least some form of computer processing chip embedded inside the guitar.
Its cool seeing how much you are improving. You still have so much more to improve but you're getting there with each guitar

That is some next level most of us are not privvy to .
Mine, too. It's really where guitars distinguish themselves. The geometry can't really change much, and the shape is a WAY secondary thing. The feel of the neck in you hand is the MAIN reason anyone bonds with a guitar, once you have the strings/action at a reasonable level of goodness.
