When I picked my fully loaded 28C a few months ago, I was impressed with the amount of work they crank out in such a small shop. No log splitter model is perfect for all splitting situations, which is why there is such a variety of designs. For bundle/precision split wood, the Axis is the best. For 12-16in cleam wood, the Wolfe Ridge 12-way wedge is a very fast machine. The Wolfe Ridge magnum package pusher with the zerk fitting locations is the best of any splitter that I've seen. Is little things like that which make using a piece of equipment a hoy as maintenance is easy to perform. I absolutely love the dark sapphire color I chose for my log splitter. Anytime you want to run a Wolfe Ridge 12-way wedge in nice wood, I'll bring my splitter over.
You are so right, no one splitter is perfect for every application or every person. We are fortunate to have so many great brands available to us today.
We’ve come a long way from our granddads splitter (which by the way is still working).

I know you are a connoisseur of splitters (Japa, Eastonmade, SuperSplit) amongst others I’m sure.
You can never have enough options for making firewood.

Wow! This is one hell of an awesome video! Alright, now im convinced you're getting a wolferidge vertical! Pretty amazing shop wolferidge has! I programmed and ran a mazak horizontal milling machine, interesting to see a mazak laser cutter! Ive got one of your other videos playing on the tv, Adam and Bert was testing your stihl saws. I need to do some digging if you upgraded your 500i air filter. I heard dust can get by the cover knob so i upgraded to the jason egan airfilter set up. Good to see Mike is a stihl guy. "Bert started cutting every tree he could find!" Lol
Glad you enjoyed the video.
One negative on the Stihl 500i is the air filter. I have not yet converted to one of the aftermarket air filters but will be doing that soon.
Now as far as the new vertical splitter you’re just gonna have to wait and see. I can’t let cat out of the bag yet.

Great video Tony - It was nice that Chris could walk you through the shop, I like that cylinder stop they showed on the blue machine, I have a furnace that accepts 28 inch logs, this would be a great addition to their 30” Cylinder. I could see having a 24” & 18” stops - I’ll have to remember when I place my order someday. Take care and enjoy your day Around the Yard! - Brent
Brent glad you enjoyed the video. The cylinder/ram stop really makes the splitter a dual function machine. I know other manufacturers offer a ram limiter but this one seems so simple and easy. If I knew this option was available I’d order the 36” splitter knowing I could convert it to a 24” machine with a couple metal pieces
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT .

I bought a ruggedmade over black friday weekend, and I love it so far, I've got enough of a log deck between me and the neighbor to make a few hundred cord. Once that pile sells next year I'm going to the sho model. Really wish I could have made the jump to wolfridge sho commercial splitter this winter... but soon very soon ! Heard many good things from every aspect of this guy's business. Can't wait
You’re a smart man working your way up to the larger more expensive splitter. The SHO is an awesome splitter, you definitely won’t be disappointed. Appreciate you watching and commenting. 👍TCT
@TonysCoolTools thank you sir, I figured with the lead time wolf ridge has, I could really get ahead with the ruggedmade, and then re sell it, in a year or 2 , for about what I paid, or very close. I think these pieces of equipment will hold value, or possibly appreciate Slightly, especially the wolf ridges and eastonmades of the industry.
Great stuff Tony Love seeing and hearing the Wolf Ridge story Thanks for sharing 👍

Hi Tony, Your friend Dick's new machine is Honda powered like Eastonmade used to be . Woe to the guy who ordered from Easton w the express order for Honda and then cancelled when they did their bait and switch with Briggs. That was me BTW. However , like your friend Dick , I now have the superior Wolfe Ridge pro 28 . I am surprised easton is still in business. Hi Dick, you are a lucky man.
Steve Rockstroh's comment NOT Gay's
Gay i had the Honda engine on my Eastonmade 12-22. When I ordered my Axis it was 6 months before the switch to Briggs. I was extremely disappointed when I called to find out I was getting a Briggs. I felt Eastonmade should have called the people who had orders in and were anticipating a Honda to approve and accept the Briggs substitution or get their $500 back. With that being said if you take the engine out of the equation I still feel that Eastonmade is one of the top splitters in the industry.
Oh and by the way Dick is extremely happy with his Wolf Ridge.
Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT

At least it looks like he's producing machines. Who knows what's going on at Eastonmade. When I placed an order from Eastonmade in Nov 21, I was told 9 months. Then I was told October, nothing. December after me having to call them, I'm told it went into production Dec 1st and told it should take a week. Called again Dec 19th told it's in assembly. Really! Told a week Dec 1st now still not done. Looks like Chris gets the work done!
John i know how frustrating it is waiting for a piece of equipment, I had to wait 6 months for my Axis with multiple completion dates told to me. I do know the supply chain is a major issue for everyone. I hope you get your splitter soon.

Thanks Tony! It has been really cool seeing how much Chris's business has evolved since I first saw him on Outdoors with the Morgans and watched his video about building that shop. I really like the plates he added to limit the back stroke, we put spaces off an old field plow on our hydraulic shaft to limit the stroke for splitting 16" wood. It is great to see businesses like this.👍

I’ve got the oak Siri‘s ordered hopefully it will be done in February so I can drive up there and haul it home to Iowa
Jeff I looked at their web page and they definitely look like a substantial splitter with many options.
Today if you buy a commercial splitter regardless of the brand you have a machine that is substantially better, faster and longer lasting than any of the box store splitters out there.
