Nice to see someone splitting that gnarly knotted wood. It shows the Wolfe Ridge true capabilities over that super straight grain wood so many of the posters have. I leave my log lift 3/4 of the way down and stack it that way.
that cooler is a nice upgrade for us southern folks. I know it was ~50 degrees here this past weekend, and mine was hanging around 140 degrees without the cooler and we worked it a couple hours straight.
Little jealous I didn't wait until this year to get my 28c,so I could of gotten the oil cooler. You will love the splitter. I have same as this one and it hasn't let me down yet.
Congrats, you’ll be glad you have the oil cooler. I have an Eastonmade 12-22 and I was splitting in 100 degree heat the last few days. That cooler ran pretty much none stop. I have a wolf ridge 24ft conveyor in grey, I went with the grey so it doesn’t stick out as much.
Nice splitter Matt.. Thanks for the demo.. I currently have a Wolfe Ridge on order and have been watching others run their splitters to get an idea on how things go..
Good luck with the new unit , It will speed up your operation for sure.I love our new SHO 28 its fast!We have put over 75 cord through it since we got it .
it's amazing the splitters now that are out in the wood yards. That's a terrific machine..The only one better is the eastonmade 22-28 but for the money you got the best deal with that unit. Great video
Nice addition Matt! Glad you got the air conditioning unit. That would be awesome! That large round, oh my, it cut through like butter, and that crack it made, awesome! Hot weather out here upper 90's, low 100's coming next week. We hit 100 once or twice already in Oregon.
Nice, that cooling fan will serve you well. Once the fan kicks on with my 35HO the oil does not heat up any more even when I’m splitting big gnarly tree service oak. 👍🏻👍🏻
Congrats on the new splitter!! You started off mentioning it being heavy to handle. When transporting it,instead of lifting it into the back of the truck couldn’t you have hitched it up to the back of a pickup?
Good to see you finally got the beast!! You will be flying in no time. Just keep those fingers back cause it only takes a second and be going to the doctors trust me found out the hard way.
Nice machine! We took delivery of a 35C about 3 months ago, serial #2111. Same color and we love it. Question for you, I didn’t see one on your machine but we don’t have a hydraulic filter, do you? I wonder if it is a design change or internal filter of some kind. Thanks and nice video. Subscribed.
Ordered mine without the oil cooler and in dark sapphireblue. By the time the fluid gets hot enough, will have plenty of splits to stack. Instead I spent that money on the 12-way wedge. One push and done with a lot of the wood I get in the loads of logs I buy. One thing on that oil cooler, you want to get the engine running right away so the cooler doesn't kill the battery. Idle it down until the cooler kicks off.
Nice! My buddy has the 12 wedge on his 35sho and loves it! I’m sure the splitter will run fine without the oil cooler but I got it for piece of mind and hot days.
@@FirewoodontheHill, my summer doesn't get as hot as yours and that was the determining factor in not getting the oil cooler right away. Besides, is a 150mi drive to get to the factory if I want it.
Hey Matt great choice for a splitter. I have the very first one exactly the same picked it up at the Midwest firewood Frenzy, asked Chris to build me one with those options took a while to get but very pleased with it. just subbed your channel look forward to the content, stay cool my friend👍🇺🇸
Congratulations! They make a great splitter...I saw the comment on theft protection. Come on...Surely nobody would try to wheel it out of it's parking spot in the living room during the middle of the night!?!?🤠
@@FirewoodontheHill 🤣🤣 That was my original thought but changed it to living room because I didn't want Sadie getting jealous of your new side chick!🤣🤣
@Firewood on the Hill - Hi Matt, First off, Great video! I have been looking at Wolfe Ridge splitters now for a while, still trying to decide how much splitter I need. What factors, beside price point had you set on the PRO 28C from #WolfeRidgeMFG? Thanks in advance. Have a great day Around the Yard! - Brent
The only reason I didn’t go to the 85mph tow able splitter frame was because I couldn’t move them by hand. So that was the biggest reason I went with the smaller frame. I went with the 28 ton instead of 35 ton because of speed. The 28 is going to spit about anything you need to split. Now at times I wish I had the 35 ton but it’s only been a hand full of times. If I was to buy again I would get the exact machine no doubt.
Hey Matt, I’m about to head to faith farm and put an order in on this exact machine. My only question is whether or not to do the 28 or 35. You’re a couple towns over from me so we probably split the same species or wood. Do you ever find stuff it won’t split? I just don’t want to spend this much and wish i went a little stronger.
I would do the 28 without a doubt. The fast cycle time is key. I have ran into things I couldn’t split but that’s because I was trying to split something I shouldn’t have tried to split. The 28c has no issues with power.
hehehe now watch your production jump brother congratulations man you will never turn back now you will never purchase a cheap splitter again.i have a powersplit from powersplit international.
@@backriverfirewood4335 gotcha that’s not a expensive as I thought they would be. I wonder how much the drive able one with two splitters and conveyor is haha
Awesome machine Matt.. you aren’t going to know what to do with your other hand with that auto cycle just don’t get it caught up with the wedge. Production is about to go through the roof congratulations on the machine. 💪🔥🪵

Yessir! Wolfe Ridge is definitely capable. Thanks for watching!
I forgot u ordered a pro log splitter. Now u won't have any problems, one trying to keep up. Congratulations!
Yessir! Thank you!
Boom. Thats an awesome machine. Time start selling all that production off the other end of that thing. Great vid Matt.
Thanks!
that cooler is a nice upgrade for us southern folks. I know it was ~50 degrees here this past weekend, and mine was hanging around 140 degrees without the cooler and we worked it a couple hours straight.
Oh yeah the cooler is a must have in the south. Once it gets over 80 my fan kicks on within 30 minutes of splitting.
That mug is a beast! Stay cool and safe out there bro.
Yessir!
Congratulations on your new WR. I might have to add that oil cooler on mine.
Thank you! I would recommend if you can. Cooling can only help.

You can get it added on if you have electric start.
That’s excellent Matt, I’m really pleased for you.
Thank you!
Congratulations on your 28c. Nicole at Faith Farm is Great to work with. My 35c was delivered by her Mom and Dad. Great People!! Have a Safe Day
Yes, Nicole is very nice and knowledgeable. I would definitely buy from them again!

Yeah idk how people split without the cooler. Nice if my yard was big enough a conveyor wood be nice.
Congrats! Really nice splitter. 👍🏻👍🏻

Wow that’s awesome!
Welcome to the Wolfe Ridge owners club. You are gonna love it. Once you get the hang of it, you can split a cord in less than an hour.
Yeah i definitely have to get used too it!
Matt, Awesome addition to your Woodyard. Congrats, can’t wait to hear how your production explodes. Stay safe!
Thank you!
I'm jealous.. 🤤 ps, most splitters with lifts, the rounds will roll off until you bump it up a bit. You'll figure it out.
Yes you are right. I’ve gotten the hang of it now.
Congratulations on receiving the wolf ridge . In no time youll be kicking the cords out. The oil cooler was a wise investment
Thanks!
Awesome man I know how you feel 👍they are great machines you can put out a lot of wood in a short time 👍👍🇺🇸

Thank you and it is towable but only around 40mph. I had to drive home 50 miles on the highway so towing wasn’t an option.

Well a year ago it was 11,300

You should let it run a little bit before shutting it off instead of just shutting it off when your done it’s not good for the motor
You're going to need to hire someone to stack wood full time now!
I know right. That will be my next struggle haha
Congrats Matt ! JEALOUS ......lol
Thank you!
Once you get used to the new splitter you'll be cranking out close to a full cord an hour as long as the rounds are piled up nice and not scattered.
Yes having the rounds close is key!
Great machine you better hurry bon the ity wood yard you to need it

👍👍
Now that's a nice splitter.. quit an upgrade from the box store splitter...
