I'm 5 months in using Dr. Ellie's complete mouth care system and I couldn't be happier. They are now brilliant, shiny, strong, and naturally much whiter than when I started (they were getting translucent when I started!). I look at my teeth in the mirror and cannot believe these are my teeth. I follow her program to a T and pop xylitol mints at least 5 times a day. Thank you Dr. Ellie and God bless you!
I've been following your dental system and my teeth are getting stronger and no gum recession by the molars. Dental cleaning is NO longer on my calendar and no more flossing. I invest in Dr. Poska toothbrush, Listerine, and Zellie's Xylitol Gum. Simple yet effective. Thank you Dr. Ellie❤
You aren't using Listerine all by itself, are you? Or using it as a last step and leaving it on your teeth? Dr. Ellie says it will leave the teeth in a very acidic state if it is used that way. It is to be used only as part of the whole Complete Mouth Care System for safety.
If you're drinking that much red wine that you have to worry about it harming your teeth, you have bigger problems than staining of your teeth. In my opinion. ;)
To me it makes sense to rinse with some water after having something more acidic than that, and _then_ following up with some xylitol. For example, I swish with a little water after having pickles and then have a xylitol mint or gum. It doesn't make sense to me to let the more acidic thing coat my teeth. It make more sense to dilute it first 🤷🏻♀
She did a video a couple of months ago on tooth staining and removal. Very informative. About 3 months in to using her method, I noticed staining between my teeth and even black triangles, that I'd never had before. As she explained it, it is actually bacterial die-off. The bad bacteria is invisible when active, and only becomes visible when it starts to die off when using her protocol. It's not any product. I simple got my teeth professionally cleaned and it took care of it, has not returned either. I use xylitol crystals with my toothpaste for extra exfoliation. My teeth have never looked better, very white and shiny. And the random tooth pain I'd been experiencing has disappeared, from the very first day I started. Stay the course. Maybe get your teeth cleaned. I can't tell you how happy I am not to worry about my teeth any longer!
I also developed stains between my teeth and in any cracks or pockets quickly after starting the total mouth care routine. I’ve been on the system about 6 months and am happy with all the results except these stains 😩. I had my teeth cleaned in hopes it was that bacterial die off but unfortunately the hygienist got most the stain off but the stain is already back 2 weeks later. The hygienist said it was the Listerine and Act rinse causing my stains, I don’t know what to believe. To be fair I do drink coffee and tea but sounds like my teeth should be able to handle that. HELP!

Hello Dr Ellie :) I’m using your mouth care system now and I found that the xylitol mints and gum give me belly aches, gas and bloating. 😔 Will the mouth care system still work for me without them? Thank you so much! Is there something else I could use instead? I have tried taking it slow but I still can’t tolerate the xylitol.
I get the stomach issues too so when I chew the gum, I don't swallow at all. Then I swish the saliva with the gum still in my mouth for a couple of minutes, then I spit it out.
It's probably because chewing is the first stage of digestion, so your stomach and intestinal tract is preparing to receive food, but instead the gum is spat out. Chewing also takes in more air.
I experience the same. I use the system without xylitol and it still does help. Though probably not as quickly as with the xylitol. But my gums are healthier and my teeth are less sensitive than before!
Hi Dr Ellie, a dentist broke my front tooth in half yesterday, by hitting it too hard with the mirror tool. It split vertically straight down the middle. He covered it with a bit of bonding because I had originally come in to get some bonding done on the slight chipping at the bottom of that tooth. Now I feel some slight sensitivity in that tooth and I’m scared to go back to the dentist, because after breaking my tooth he tried to gaslight me and tell me that when I came in it was already like that. But I had taken pictures the night before so that I could see before and free results. How do I fix this at home? It’s so hard to find a dentist thats trustworthy. I would really appreciate any advice you can give me.
Dr Ellie, thank you for all your good advice. I have only been doing your system for 2 months, and it seems to be working, although early days. My concern is that the products are expensive to buy here in UK, and I'm not sure what I can substitute with what. I think you said somewhere Flourigard instead of ACT, and Ultradex for Closys, but there are only 2 Ultradex here and neither seems to correspond with closys. Also, I read in the comments that the Crest toothpaste has been reformulated, but I don’t know whether I have the right one as I must have bought it at the time it was changed. Please could you confirm for us Brits, what we should be using? Thank you.
Hey Doc, Crest has been changing all of the packaging on their toothpaste and I’m guessing maybe the formulas too? I bought the one you recommend from your amazon store but it came in the new packaging that all of them are in. All of them are now Creat Plus. The one you tell us to buy Has now been relabeled as Crest Plus with active fluoride. Could you look into if they’ve changed the formula and if we now need to buy a different toothpaste? Anybody else notice this? Is there anywhere we can still get the old formula ?
They did a label change and added the word Plus, but the formula stayed the same. (I compared the label ingredients on my old and new tubes.) Please compare the one you have to an old ingredient listing to make sure you have the right Crest, but it should be the same.

Consuming acid is like resistance training??? This sounds like a dangerous comparison. Demineralization and remineralization are in a constant natural cycle yes, but demineralization is not aiding in the strengthening of your teeth, remineralization exists as a reaction to demineralization. It also seems a bit contradictory to say this and in the same breath say straws are bad because acid still gets on your molars which btw, doesn’t add up in its own right, because you’re essentially just saying it’s a trade-off but with a straw there’s an aesthetic benefit, so at worst straws are neutral-but also calling it a trade-off doesn’t even make any sense, because that means you’re trading your front teeth for your back teeth, when in reality drinking normally also hits your back teeth too, so if anything a straw sounds like it’d be a net positive, as it’s simply LIMITING the contact, but should still be coupled with rinsing with water.
Hi Dr Ellie Phillips! Thank you for your system, I have been using it for 10 months with good results, my tartar almost completely gone and teeth look and feel great. I have a question about the toothpaste... I had Crest regular before, but for some reason cannot find in the UK. Ordered on Amazon regular, then received 3 pack of crest plus instead... ordered 4 on eBay then received 4 crest plus ... Darn...is it new packaging and ok to use or shall I keep trying? Thanks
Crest Cavity Protection regular paste did change the label design some and added a plus in there, but it's the same product. It would be safest if you compared the ingredients of the old to the new to make sure it is the same one, since they have so many varieties.
If you can't get the CMCS products, at least get xylitol and use it in the proper way every day. It will help you. You can probably find 100% xylitol granules/crystals in your area.
I recently purchased a guard at Walgreens. Just follow the directions precisely. It’s been very helpful and my jaw joints are relaxing and no grinding.
I finally threw my night guard away. Look into "mewing" for proper tongue posture. It illuminates nocturnal bruxism. Also, Dr. Ellie said most everyone experiences teeth grinding to a certain extent. The trick is to get your teeth so strong that they are impervious to the grinding. Her complete mouth care system does that. Keep that plastic shit out of your mouth. It will make things worse in the long run.
Hi Dr Ellis, Thank you for your videos😊. So, if you eat some xylitol after a meal, you’re not supposed to brush your teeth in a while, or at all? I’m following your system, but it’s difficult to get the products outside the US. All the best from Spain.
You don't "eat" xylitol; you let it dissolve in the mouth. Use it after every meal, snack or drink of liquid (even water) and then do not eat or drink anything else for at least 1-2 hours or longer. Do not brush your teeth after using xylitol, or you will do away with the benefit. If you need to brush your teeth, do that first, then use the xylitol.
It's not recommended. It destroys the delicate biofilm of the teeth. If you use her complete system, no flossing is necessary. There is a video about it.
Crest Cavity Protection Regular Paste is the only Crest that she recommends. For people in the UK that can't find it, she authorized substituting Oral B 1-2-3 toothpaste.
Please tell me this Dr Ellie!! I am in Australia - and I bought some of the Crest toothpaste you recommend via Amazon.... the problem is that I find the flavour/taste disgusting!! I think you said - on a prior video or in a comment underneath - that Colgate Fluoride 'regular' toothpaste was an acceptable alternative? Can I use that instead?? Thanks so much for your reply :)
Dr Ellie🥰 quick question… if I happen to wake in the middle of night wld it be beneficial to take some zellie mints before I go back to bed?? Also I like to chew them up and then let the liquid stay in my mouth for a while… is that helpful at all? Thank you so much!!
Do you already take the xylitol right before bed? If not, you should start doing so to help your mouth overnight. Some people get up in the night and get a drink of water. That is also a great time to take more xylitol - after getting a drink of water. Your way of doing it may be fine, but the usual way is to let mints dissolve in the mouth. You need oral contact with the xylitol for a few minutes, so if you're going to chew the mints, definitely let the chewed mints stay in your mouth for a bit before swallowing them.
What if i look straight up and drink with a bendy straw, then the wine goes straight down and won’t touch my molars. I might look goofy tho , thats all😄
Dr. Ellie can you comment on the articles that have been coming out lately about the dangers of xylitol? It seems every week another article is popping up on my phone.
I have started your complete mouth care system recently but when i chew the xylotol gum it irritate my gut so is it okay to chew xylotol for ten minutes and spit it out please reply i am from india
Dr pls help me with my cavity i have almost 10 cavity in which l two tooth has rct and other teeth need filling and i m developing more and more cavity and i m only in my 20s ...pls suggest me something by which i can reduce my cavity
Yes, teeth enamel is harder that steel but it breaks easier. But your statement that you can rebuild enamel is not completely true. You can't rebuild it back in significant enough, say to fill a large cavity or a chip in the tooth or large cracks. And it's irresponsible of you to imply that you can.
I have heard her say in another video that small cavities can self-repair, but that if someone has a large cavity, it will probably need to be filled as it has gone too far to rebuild itself. Also, she said if part of a tooth is missing, like a chip, then the body cannot heal that.
@@SunrayStar She makes too many contradicting statements. She says not to floss, even though it's been proven over and over in many studies to be effective. And claims only two versions of Listerine work with her "system", even though Listerine says on all their mouthwashes that it's 99.9% effective and removing bad bacteria. And she said that because Listerine used to say it was just as good as flossing, even though it was proven not to be and why they were forced to remove that claim. So she doesn't believe any other listerine mouthwash can kill all the bad bacteria yet does believe their claim of it being just as good as flossing. And why use CloSYS as a pre mouthwash? From the data I've seen, it's almost as effective as Listerine and doesn't burn your mouth, it literally tastes like water. So people would be more likely to gargle with it longer and more frequently. But back on the anti flossing thing. I get it that incorrect flossing can inflame sensitive gums and why you learn how to floss correctly. Without flossing there is no way any toothbrush can get in-between most people's teeth. And telling people not to get their teeth cleaned, goes against all the dental hygiene data, which proves it works. During COVID I couldn't get my teeth cleaned and had stopped flossing. After a year I started flossing again and they bled like crazy and was getting some gun recession. When I was able to see the dentist I needed a deep clean and had to use a special mouth wash for a bit. My gums got better and bleeding stopped once I regularly flossed. The only positive thing this person put out was about Xylitol.
I don't think she's contradictory; I believe you just haven't been able to see or read enough of her teachings yet to get more of the full picture and understand all the parts and why they work. She believes that flossing with string can damage the fine hair-like fibers of gums as they're trying to regrow, and also that it can push bacteria down through gum pockets into the bloodstream. So there are good reasons for not using string. But Waterpiks are just as damaging for the same reasons because of the forceful jet. Listerine is Step 3 of her system and does several things, one of them being the "liquid flosser"; she says Listerine can get between teeth and floss way better than string floss ever could. I don't really trust studies overall now because there are too many nefarious purposes in doing them, but if string flossing was as effective as studies said, then dentists would not keep accusing patients of not flossing enough and constantly encouraging more and more flossing when patients are doing all the flossing they can, and it just isn't helping them. People comment about this all the time on here. She has never said that she thought other Listerine versions could not kill all the bad bacteria; it is not about that. There are different reasons why the other versions have shown her that they do not work as well in the system for the overall oral health results as the 2 varieties that she approves. For instance, she believes the 2 approved versions do no harm to the mouth but that the other versions either can harm due to other included ingredients that should be avoided, or that a version may simply be ineffective as part of the system for improving oral health. All of the products she selected work together as a system and are not necessarily accepted or rejected individually. She tested countless varieties out through her more than 40 years in fine-tuning this system and seeing her dental patients' results and rejected all that showed to not work as well as other varieties that did. I can't list all the reasons for these things here that I've heard her say; she tells bits and pieces in different videos and it is a lot of info. Closys isn't anything like Listerine and is used for completely different purposes. One purpose (there are several) is to reset the pH of the mouth to remove acidity and prepare the teeth before brushing with the toothbrush, because brushing acid-softened teeth is damaging to enamel. Another reason I can think of is that Closys has an oxygen effect on the gums between the teeth when left for 1 minute. Dental cleanings are not improving people's oral health, either, because their oral health is getting progressively worse with the more often they have cleanings, and now they are being told to come in every 6 months instead of yearly, then come in every 3 months, and some people are even being told to come more often than that. And no longer are they saying regular cleanings are effective that were the old standard. Now they are more and more promoting deep cleanings, which are very damaging and torturous. Cleanings just do not work. So many people say that their dental health did not start tanking until they began going to the dentist for cleanings, and then more often for more cleanings. Then their trouble all began.
@@SunrayStar Talk about being blinded with a cult following by one person that makes claims yet 100's of 1000's of other experts completely disagree with her. Yet, people want to believe her based on less work in oral care. And yes, when someone tells you not to floss that's less work and it's why most people will stop flossing. But I agree about studies to a point. One study alone isn't enough proof, as they have to be repeatable by different researchers to be valid. And flossing has been proven over and over to be very effective. All I know is that my gums got worse when I went a year without my 6 month cleanings and after having to have the deep cleaning my gums regrew and got way better. Now, they wanted to keep me on the 3 month deep cleaning schedule but I refused, mainly because my insurance doesn't cover all of it. They relented after I threatened to find another dentist. I now make sure to floss regularly and my teeth and gums have been fine, in fact better than ever as I have been using Xylitol now. I have always used a mouthwash but may look into some of that more. But I will never stop flossing because I know first hand what happens when I have. And again, flossing works when done correctly. You said CloSYS is used to reset the PH and remove acidity, yet the listerine is used after CloSYS and brushing, which then introduces alcohol into the mouth, which is acidic. And while ACT is used last and helps remove some of the acidity, it doesn't remove all of it. You'd think she would go with one of the alcohol free Listerine versions instead.
@@SunrayStar and yet in the 40 years she’s not officially published one thing to prove her so called system works. All she’s done is make videos on UA-cam selling her products and collecting UA-cam money. lol

This is not related to this video's topic - is it okay to use an electric water flosser? Thank you for your videos
It's not recommended. It destroys the delicate biofilm of the teeth. If you use her complete system, no flossing is necessary. There is a video about it.

Dr.Ellie i found all product in my country but this toothpaste impossible to finnd can u recommend other one ? crest different model …
I’m using Colgate cavity protection in Australia.

Please help, my family will be starting your program but my dad has dentures with implants. which part of the program should he do and not do?
Are Impact xylitol chewing gums good and wat abt happydent...??? As zellie is not available in my country
You can probably find 100% xylitol granules/crystals in your area. They work the same.

Dr. Ellie can you comment on the articles that have been coming out lately about the dangers of xylitol? It seems every week another article is popping up on my phone.
She has addressed that study in articles on her site as well as a video here.
I have started your complete mouth care system recently but when i chew the xylotol gum it irritate my gut so is it okay to chew xylotol for ten minutes and spit it out please reply i am from india
Dr. Ellie says to chew xylitol gum for only 2-5 minutes and then spit it out.
