    Thank you, Dr. Ellie! I’m 76 years old and had been so embarrassed about my receding gums! Then my real answer to prayer was finding you and THE PROCESS you created which, going on 3 months, the results are incredible! Wish I’d taken photos! Still looking forward to more healing but I’m no longer trying not to smile too big when around people! Also, an added benefit from your regimen is that I’m no longer mindlessly eating between meals … a habit I’d longed to overcome! I watch your videos over and over always learning more! We can’t do without you, so God bless!

    Until the age of 50 I had not had any major issues with my teeth....they were quite nice. Then my daughter, who is handicapped, came with my grandkids and stayed with me for 9 months. About a month into the stay I happened to notice I hadn't seen her tooth brush so I asked her, Honey what toothbrush are you using? She had developed in the last 2 years a terrible tooth problem that was causing significant decay at the gum line and her teeth were thinning and rotting at the gumline. I panicked! Unfortunately, within 6 months I noticed the same decay pattern in my own beautiful teeth. 😭
    I had brushed my teeth at least 2 times per day with this same toothbrush unknowingly. When I spoke with the dentist he would not give any weight to my story of what had occurred, but instead attributed it to aging, menopause, etc .. I'm still angry as I ended up losing my teeth due to the high cost associated with the major work he wanted to do. I simply didn't have thousands of dollars.
    It has made me very, very conscientious about the teeth of the 2 grandchildren I am raising. Having natural teeth is such a blessing.

    I started using your methods a couple months ago with some personal adjustments (no xylitol, just rinse my mouth with baking soda and water for a minute after eating and I don't waste my money on mouthwash), just had a dental check-up. Excellent video yet again, but can I add some misunderstood questions.There's this confusion between white oral thrush and plaque I see people asking what's this white stringy stuff that appears after cleaning teeth and the answers are multiple, everything from shedding of old cells, harsh chemicals in the toothpaste. Second question, while following Dr Ellie what should we be noticing daily, like is this plaque when using xylitol inhibiting the plaque from forming on the teeth and thus it collects on the soft tissue at which point it can be wiped away. The less sticky the saliva, the greater reduction load of the plaque in the mouth, I think these are just some of the questions that will help aid those of us following Dr Ellie strategy.

      Dr. Plotka's Mouthwatchers toothbrushes come in only one kind of bristle. They make an adult size and a youth size, but there are no different variations. Even though Dr. Plotka's company calls them soft or extra soft, they are NOT. Dr. Ellie says they are medium-firm with dense bristles, which is what you want to get. She said that toothbrush manufacturers never call their brushes' firmness level what they are accurately. They almost all want to call them soft, no matter what they really are, because they want to call them what they think people want to hear!

Let it dissolve in the mouth. Take it in small 1g doses (1/4 teaspoon granules) all throughout the day - take it after every meal, snack or drink of liquid (even water), and then do not eat or drink anything else for at least 1-2 hours or longer. Without wishing to give offence to anyone, I've always had lower expectations when I found my mouth in the hands of a female dentist than a male one. I'm not exactly sure why as I've had no such apprehensions where doctors are concerned, (although a strikingly pretty young Dutch dentist who chickened out of replacing my crown just because the x-ray showed I'd had previously had root-canal work on the tooth may have been the start of it.)
    Dr Ellie is, however, easily the SMARTEST dentist I've come across. Her approach is 'joined-up' in a medically wholistic way and her sheer breadth of knowledge on any mouth issue on which she speaks is just breath-taking. Her former patients must have the best teeth and healthiest mouths in America.

      @Autonomy0 2 місяці тому

      @@olgawahl4389 It was back in the summer of 2008, just before I left Holland so I cannot recall her name. I am also not sure it would be fair to reveal her name even if I did recall it as she was no more than mid-twenties then (and therefore new in practice) and so - in all probability - may well have gained greater confidence in her competence over a further 16 years of practice. I would, frankly, be astonished if that were not the case.
      What I will say is that she was in the Amsterdam area and was working during a period when every other dentist in Amsterdam seemed to be away on a one month holiday. Having given information that could conceivably identify her, it is only fair that I also add that she was good enough to offer to email the x-ray of the tooth in question to me so that I could pass it on to whichever dentist I went to back in the UK. In that respect she was a good deal more conscientious than the next youngish female dentist my forgiving nature caused me to ply her trade in my mouth.
      That was right in the centre of Newcastle some eleven years later. With the passage of time; her assured, business-like demeanour (and the fact that - in strong contrast to the Dutch one - she had a face like the back of a bus) I took a chance on her for the replacement of a metal crown on a rear molar (done in elsewhere the previous year). There was still blood when I flossed, suggesting that it hadn't healed properly though I had no pain. Where the metal crown had been a 'clone' of the original tooth in size, she replaced it with a visibly smaller porcelain one. The bleeding was no longer a problem but about a year later about 20% of it broke off (a corner). Seeking to avoid being ripped of by private dentists with their post-Covid monopoly, I contacted the Newcastle dentist to put it to her that as it wasn't practicable for me to come back to Newcastle for the repair and the job had been done on the NHS, wasn't it reasonable for her to assist me in getting the repair done on the NHS in my new location. She didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me: her reception eventually just told me that the assistance I was asking for was not how the system worked. Charming!

I also didn't eat or drink for an hour afterwards, but it didn't do anything for my receding gums and the pockets that had formed. I actually began to develop more tarter on my teeth which the higher quality fluoride t-paste easily kept at bay. I went to baking soda mixed with hydrogen peroxide and bang! No more inflammation of the gumline or tarter! I can even miss brushing my teeth for a day (gross) and still get no tarter! Found out while under the weather... My teeth feel better and more healthy after a couple of months of this than ever before!

    • @sufficetosay

      @@thairyrojas8679 Yes that's all I do. FIRST I used Crest Pro-Health Gum Detoxify Deep Clean Toothpaste to kill whatever was in on my teeth and gums that caused the pain and inflammation. I had developed pockets around several of my teeth with gum recession and inflamed gums/gumline in those areas. With that excellent toothpaste it took several weeks but slowly everything started to get better and the inflammation disappeared, but the damage was done. I noticed a difference on day 2. Then I switched to baking soda and hydrogen peroxide which works amazing and leaves your teeth very white... But.. I am going back to Crest Pro-Health Gum Detoxify Deep Clean Toothpaste, because my enamel started to get thin with the baking soda. I can rinse my teeth with PerioMed 0.63% Stannous Fluoride Oral Rinse and instantly they are better it seems. This stannous Flouride is just what I used to get at the dentists office! It works too. If you use it make sure you don't swallow any and make sure it's after you brush, lol. I have decided to go back to the Crest which also has a potent iteration of flouride, not the junk they use in all the other crappy toothpaste! Keep it all off of your tongue as best you can so you kill as few good bacteria as possible. From my experience the outer layer of tongue scum in the morning is a biofilm. Brushing with good flouride will begin to slowly make that go away even if you don't brush it. Every day a thin layer will build up and go away after a typical brushing. The good bugs seem to be ok after brushing including better breath. I have noticed there are many doomsayers about flouride and I think if people used REAL proven effective iterations of flouride it wouldn't have a bad rap at all! Keep it out of my water though, we shouldn't consume it! My wife still uses an alcohol mouth rinse that I do think is killing her good bacteria but she won't listen to much of anything I try to tell her.

      Dr. Ellie does not recommend hydrogen peroxide or baking soda in the mouth because they both dissolve the proteins in your protective oral biofilm and kill good bacteria. Also, it sounds as if you were not using xylitol correctly at all, which would account for not getting the usual improvements on it.

    • @sufficetosay

    • @SunrayStar
      @SunrayStar 25 днів тому

      Dr. Ellie's strategy is to vigorously brush the gums to stimulate the lymphatic system to get the circulation in the gums going by increasing blood flow which brings in more healing minerals to the gums and carries away toxic wastes. If someone has sensitive areas, Dr. Ellie says to brush harder in that area, and brush longer there, and sensitivity usually goes away in a few days. As for water, she says to limit your eating and drinking to a smaller number of times per day instead of constantly sipping and snacking all day long. That means when you want to drink water, drink more at one time instead of keeping on sipping small amounts and then go longer in between eating and drinking. She does not recommend straws - then the liquids will flow over the back molars instead and damage them.

    Doesn’t the alcohol in Listerine kill both the good and bad bacteria in your mouth?

    • @dr.elliephillips
      @dr.elliephillips  2 місяці тому +1

      No it doesn't.
      If it did, people would wipe out all their oral bacteria with martini cocktails....
      For alcohol to be "sterilizing" it needs to dry completely and be around 60-70% alcohol.
      If you use alcohol sanitizing wipes they say not to use on wet or dirty hands
      The mouth is both wet with saliva and 'dirty" with biofilm/slime.
      The Listerine is 21% alcohol and this is then diluted in the mouth and the mouth is protected by slime/biofilm.
      The use of things like baking soda or peroxide that strip biofilm from surfaces is far more damaging.
      Furthermore, the active ingredients in Listerine are essential oils - eucalyptus, menthol and thymol in very dilute concentrations.
      They target immature plaque bacteria.
      i recommend rinsing Listerine out of the mouth with ACT anyway.

    Hi Dr Ellie, I am worried with your recommendation in one of your earlier videos. The Crest Toothpaste you recommended contains Titanium Dioxide (Nano Particles) which the international agency for research on cancer has said is a carcinogen. and So it can do DNA damage and immune system toxicity.

      That study is for rats and has not been extrapolated to humans yet, and they were given 10 mg a day. The tiny amount in toothpaste, which you do not swallow, I would not imagine to make much difference. FDA considers it safe. Sweets have a ton of it, I would think that's a bigger concern.

    Hullo, doctor, thank you for the good work. Wanted to inquire about something. Am reaching out from Uganda. I have a daughter who lost one of a front upper teeth when she was still five years. She has grown with the situation and she is 14 now. The problem is front teeth looks to be bigger and more infront than the others . So i was planning to get her bracelets to get her teeth inorder to improve her smile. But a certain dentist suggested her to get a crown to balance the teeth. Am so confused don't know what to do for , this situation is killing her self confidence.

    Is it possible that the wrong position of the tongue may affect the gums as well? The back part of my low front teeth has pockets (I brush there like you say) and I noticed I push there when my tongue is resting.

    I just started one day ago this full mouth care system, had no issues with my gum before, but now they hurt even when touching with my tongue. I use a Micro Nano Manual Toothbrush Extra Soft Bristles Toothbrush with 20,000 Bristles because anything else would hurt like a mofo and also because that's what your pdf dictates we use.
    All your videos say otherwise ofc, maybe we can get a clear answer on this. Please also address this issue I have with my gums, are they like this because I never brushed them in all my life (35 years) or is like keto flu when you start carnivore ?

    • @SunrayStar
      @SunrayStar 25 днів тому

      Dr. Ellie does not have any info saying to use any such kind of toothbrush as you named. She specifically says to NOT use any soft toothbrushes. She says to choose a toothbrush with dense bristles that are medium-firm, such as Dr. Plotka's Mouthwatchers toothbrushes, that she highly recommends. Are you saying that you never brushed your teeth at all in 35 years and still had clean, healthy teeth and gums with no issues?
