I almost wrote the comment about the attack speed artifact after you took like 5 agility upgrades and was talking about it, but I held strong and it payed of :)
I love how much this game has changed in just a month. I just picked it up and this feels like it should be alot longer ago.
Defense is absolutely worth taking. You can def+hp regen and face tank everything. This game rewards balanced builds and i really like it.

I like how the RNG can make you OP or make you just a potato. I love the video!
i want more of this. I think replacing soulstone survivors with this would be great since i feel you've done it all in SS until they release new weapons/upgrades.
I know in the Demo I got my defense to the point where the enemies were doing zero damage to me. The only thing that was doing damage is elites. So defense may not be as bad as you think. The armor bonus appears to be a flat damage reduction. I believe thorns also said it does damage based on before mitigation so that could be an interesting build if it works like that.
a full defense thorns build works, final boss just pushed me around but couldnt hurt me
I just got a 1200hp build with 15 defense & 30% damage reduction + 7.5 hpReg. The only thing that damaged me were the skeleton boss, and they died to thorns way before they reduced my hp any significant ammount.
Last boss can be beaten hands free.

This and so many other just awesome BulletHell/VS games have came out recently many of which have decent graphics.
The kicker is they're dirt cheap just picked this game up for $2.99 on Steam 11/12/22.
The cool things other than Soulstone Survivors which in $9.99 a huge outlier in price they'll all around the $2.99 to $4.99 price.
So many hours of gaming so cheap it's stupid at this point, thanks for covering this one Sifd and it has came a long way now...
Part of the re4ason the enemies surround you is because of the way you attack .... you go right into the middle of a group, so they automatically surround you as a result.

I like how this game doesn't even give you upgrades that wouldn't affect your current weapons
Like your first build had no range or anything, because it didn't apply to the garlic rings

The red rage mode: I am not sure, but I thinkg switching directions makes it have shorter raging.

"Someone can do the math"
Not rocket science*, but I'll break it down for you.
Celerity = 15% Attack Speed Boost, multiplicative with itself. Affects all weapons.
Death Aura = 5.1 -> 6.1 damage. Aura Increase from 5.6 -> 6.4
By the numbers for JUST the "base Garlic", as you're calling it, it's a 20% increase in damage plus a bit of area, so that sounds like it's better, right?
Wrong. Because Celerity would be increasing your Fire Ring as well, which means the 15% is more like 30%, as it's increase your Death Aura *and* your Fire Ring Attack Speed by 15% each. In addition, taking Celerity final rank would remove it from the pool of options, helping ever so slightly increase the odds of drawing what else you want drawn. EDIT: I forgot about the Lightning Staff, but we weren't really including that, so yeah.
But that's just, like... My opinion, man. You do you. o/
*the only reason I can do the maths is because it ISN'T rocket science, lmao. Complex maths is hard.

You didn't level up in last stage because it seems xp is disabled on last level. Ive been to the boss sometimes and all times there seems to be no xp gainned

Thorns and poison ring, with armor, mitigation and regen is idle build.
due to the soft cap at lvl 40 rn, taking pickup range is actually troll. because you will reach lvl 40/41 during the boss anyways.
also, seens that either that discount artificat was really expensive, or it did not apply to shop where you bought it

Technically Recursion does not get better and better. It "just" gives the same bonus, 20% more than before.

To be fair, if I'm not mistaken, they can stack and one scales to 999 rather than 6, so...
I know what you're getting at, and I'm not sure if this game mode would support a build for it, but on its face, the option seem reasonable. that said, this is the first I'm digging into this title, so I could easily be misunderstanding.

I really had an experience with watching this.
i am really BORED about the next clones of vampire survivors. There too much, with no idea and own features.
20 min till dawn was unique.
I watched the first 3 -5 minutes : OK , well , nice graphics , ohh i feel some unique things.
After watching the half : damn* i really love the own style and decisions of this game. it isnt a clone, it has his own unique style
After ending : Damn the boss is too hard. i dont want dark souls level on this. Oh, its a demo, you can go even further ? ! NICE, this game has a huge potenzial. I love it.
I really was sold for : 2 garlics 1 run ;). Thanks a lot man. Now , i buy this game. Its has its own idendity . I really hope they will progress with this system. New zones and go farther and farther.
Vampire Survivors now has only 1 problem : you can be hyper over 9k powerfull but it doesnt matter. no infinity. i dont want to farm eggs, because... i love the ideas and all of it. I only need an infinity thing, why i need to be much more powerful, i should, to go even farther ;).
I like the decisions from the new game. It is very unique and has its own style ;). I am in ^^.

To assume that "the RNG is broken in this mode" to just a minute later getting *exactly what you said never happens* just looks ... not too intelligent. Random is random and does not depend on what you want. As you well should know. But, I do enjoy some of your commentary so keep on trucking.
