You need to look up a local sawyer/mill near you, or a hardwood dealer at the very least. You are paying 2-3 times as much by buying wood at the local box stores; not to mention the quality of the wood. A 1” x 6” x 8ft select pine is $23.24 at my local Lowes, which is only .22 Board Feet. I can get the same select pine board already surfaced (the same as you bought in Lowes) for $1 a linear foot. For $4.50 a Board Foot, I can get the same S4S Red Oak. Your local hardwood dealer will also usually have better plywood than you can get in any of the big box stores. I happily use the Sande ply for shop furniture, but you wouldn’t believe the difference in ply quality until you use it for furniture. Anyway, hope this helps! Thanks for the content, I thought it came out beautiful!
Tiffany, this turned out so good!! I had a thought…. Since you’re in FL and it rains more often than not, why don’t you build an awning that runs the length of your entire workshop that is permanently attached to it? That way you can fold it out in those times it’s raining and have some cover overhead and your project won’t get ruined. Then you can tie it back up when not in use. It would give you more working space. Just something to think about… I love your channel!
I agree! This DIY’er is the most legit on the internet. Real mistakes and real frustrations just like the rest of us. The commentary is HILARIOUS, as is the editing. Great teamwork, ladies!👍🏻
TIFF YOU ARE A BADDIE GIRL💪🏼 I LOVE HOW YOU NEVER GIVE UP YOU ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO GET YOUR PROJECTS DONE & DONE THE RIGHT WAY YOU DON'T HALF ASS NOTHING ALL YOUR PROJECTS ARE AMAZING!! LOVE ALL THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR & I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU DO NEXT!! GREAT JOB GIRLY👏👏👏👏
I built a firepit table with pallet wood and used that Air Locker gun....game changer! Your perseverance is stellar Tiff! The end prize is worth it! Great job! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tiff made that air locker look like so much fun, I want to buy one and get some pallets just to remove nails, not to build anything. 😂😂😂😂 The shop sign is looking Goo-ood! ❤ I’m so glad your bed is safe for hiding from bad guys during the zombie apocalypse! This bed is amazing!! ❤❤❤❤
I got a free month! Thank you!! I love this channel so much! You are so funny, and Tina is adorable and you are so funny together!! Thank you for your enjoyable, entertaining and beautiful content! Everything you create comes out amazing!!❤❤❤
Tiff, love your videos. I purchased my “pallet buster” from a man who makes them on line. Unfortunately, due to my height, 6’1”, it was very uncomfortable to use. I found a welder who was able to increase the length of my bar to make it easier for me. I also had him custom make a new one to deal with the runners that are made out of 4x4’s. One thing I learned to make taking pallets apart easier as well as not destroying the wood is to first take the center of the board out first, then the sides. I destroy less doing it that way than starting from the sides first. Hope that helps. I love your videos. Keep em coming. Want to see more of Toni as well.
Tiff, I must say I really enjoy watching you make things, and you do not edit out the bloopers and the funny parts like the bug attecking you The bed looks fantastic, and you will need to somehow keep the slats from moving. I can't wait to see the next project
You deserve more subscribers than you have. I love your “learning” during your builds. You are inspirational, giving all of us who want to learn something new permission to make mistakes and have the courage to fix them!
You have done an exceptionally good job with the bed! You are so knowledgeable and brave that you can do almost anything. Beautiful video :-) Hugs from Sweden :-)
I admire your determination and perseverance with all your projects, you’re very talented and especially enjoy watching the interactions with your Dad and Toni also the humour and editing, let’s not forget Misty!! All the best from Australia! 😊
i love that you're giving these pallets a second chance, I'll be honest the only time I've seen these pallets ever in use has been old 70's action movies where the bad guy gets grabbed up by the hero and slammed through five of these like they were nothing. OR a poor guy is trying to carry a stack of them and each one has something super fragile and people are either bot watching where they're going and the guy ends up loosing his grip and all those fragile items are destroyed.. But in real life i just see them decaying behind a gas station near the public restroom or supporting a bunch of unpacked planted sprouts in the green gardening area of a walmart or other store getting moldy from the oozing water from the wet planting soil. The end result was super awesome I love the headboard! I hope we see more Pallet projects and I was just thinking... if ever you get into trying molt projects where you melt metals and stuff into I think they call it molton lava or something.. You can save the old nails melt them down and make cool things with them. An example would be if you can't find the exact type of handle design you can create a mold and pour the melted nails into it and they'll become something just as beautiful. that'll remain apart of the pallets but instead of nails they drawer handles or something.
WOW! Beautiful!! The both of you make me smile!! I love your videos!! More please.Your sense of humor kills me. In a huge cart is a load of wood with 2 candy bars sitting quietly while she walks up the isle. 🤣😅😂😅😆😅🤣😂🙂
It looks really good! Straight out of a catalogue! For sure you want to secure the slats down, but if you want to make it movable (not having to unscrew every nail everytime) you should attach them all with a fabric strip and use 4 cleats at the 4 corners of the frame to hook the top and bottom slats taught, to secure the planks. Look up ikea bed slats and I think you will see what I mean. Great job all around!!!
I’ve seen someone else who builds with pallet wood use a saws-all to take apart the pallets. They just cut through the nails between the slats and the inner braces and then removed the nail heads where they didn’t just fall out on their own. I haven’t tried it myself, but it looks a lot easier than prying the boards apart. Love what you’re doing! Too many DIYers only show the successes and not how things work or don’t in real life. Thank you for showing your entire journey on your projects.
@ Thank you for having such great content! Plus the editing is superb and funny. Super enjoyable to watch! I’m a family 🏳️🌈 member who owns a mobile home at the North Carolina coast, so seeing you deal with renovations on a manufactured house is of particular interest since the construction has its own set of issues. You have great ideas and are inspiring!
Great job. I think it’s terrific that you show how much detail work, measuring, and math is involved. These projects are not easy, even though TV shows make it look that way.
Thank you! And yes a lot of media skips over these details making DIY a fantasy when in reality this is the process and we just gotta learn to love the process too ☺️
Nice work on the bed! I LOVE it!!! One thing you can do with the slats is to staple a webbing strap all the way down each side and the middle, then you can just screw in the ends. 😉
I've never secured bed slats. The weight of the box spring and mattress hold them perfectly in place🤔could be too that I love moving my furniture around. My husband said he never knew anyone who changed their rooms around as much as I did!😂
I can’t remember where I saw this or I would link the video but I saw someone buy ratchet straps (cheap) and staple the slats together so they don’t move out of place. Great video. Love watching you, Toni, Misty and now Indy!
You did a great job Tiff! 🍻 Your videos are a refreshing break from the sh*tshow we're being forced to live through. You and Toni keep it up, you're amazing! 🤗
Great job Tiff 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Pls either nail/screw the slats in place or nail spacers between each of the slats so that they’ll slot into place. While the mattress does weigh quite a bit, anytime someone moves on it, the slats underneath move slightly & over time that results in uneven pressure being put on some of the boards causing cracking or breaks.
Glad I'm not the only one contemplating the construction of something while watching a show😂😂 The bed looks beautiful! But I would secure the ends of the slats because the mattress moves a lot at the edges due to sitting down and turning to lay down and in reverse❤
Wow, Wow, WOW!!!! That is beautiful and you did so good! You should be proud of yourself Lady!!! I admire your courage to try new things and your talents! Can't wait for the next steps and to see the whole room completed! GREAT JOB TIFF!!!!
Outstanding! It's lovely, truly lovely. The room is really coming together. Thank you for sharing your trials and tribulations, along with the finished product. :)
I only found your channel about a month ago, and I really enjoy it! You’re very relatable and I appreciate that you’re authentic and not too proud to show when things go wrong, and when you’re impressed with yourself. Great job on the bed! Every bed should be apocalypse proof. 😜

With the pallet buster, you need to pry the two edges and then the middle. This way the wood doesn't fly up and nails get partially stuck at the edge.
Wow, you rocked this project! It looks phenomenal!!
