- Wonder what kind of cold weather gear we get issued from Christchurch, New Zealand? Well here it is, some of the best gear you can have that can and will save your life in these harsh environments. Extreme cold weather is not something to mess with and we do not pick a fight with mother nature.

Nice room that you have! We stayed in long huts. We used a barrel for our bathroom. That was in October of 1971.
Our white boots were called bunny boots. Heavy!

@@anthonygutierrez1620 Mechanic. Got to work on equipment I had never seen before. Also ran the battery shop.
The weird thing was being on watch fairly often in the mechanics shop. Nobody else but the guys in the base.

Carhartt arctic bibs are rated for -40 degrees . I work in a giant industrial freezer and we use them and there jackets. But I switched out my duck coat for there arctic rated hoodie . Pretty much there jacket with out the hard duck material. I love your videos and one day I hope to come and work in Antartica. Most my friends and family think I am crazy for wanting to. Especially from being from Hawaii. lol .
You're not crazy, its an amazing experience, one worth taking for sure! Yeah -40 sounds about right. The Canada Goose parka is definitely worth it here. Some people don't use them and use less bulky ones but I use mine everyday. Speaking of freezer, I am filming the giant freezer video here today! Cheers!

Wow, that is a LOT of clothing! Antartica is such a wonderful and intriguing land I always wanted to go to when I grow up! But again, so far for a Texan such as me. Anyways love your vids!

honestly i will stick with my big heavy army over coat i got from a guy that worked on the dew line and my fur cap. it may be heavy compared to that stuff but boy does it make a any cold day of siting in an open cab dozer pushing snow in montana at a mine comfy when its -40

That parka is made by Canada Goose, very expensive very warm. That jacket is prolly 600-800 dollars. Do you get to keep it? That would be a bangin jacket.
