Love that the gloves match the shorts. Your videos are so enjoyable. Excited to see these old whips finished some day!
With all the crap falling off the car I'd be wearing eye protection
This is the best tutorial I have ever seen by far. I still have no idea what I'm doing. You go girl.
😅
Love this video Doris. You spent nearly all the video banging the Mustang, so much so you owe it a nice dinner out 😂😂
A couple tips, when removing a caliper just stick a screw driver in the hole on the caliper and down into the cooling fins on the rotor and pry a little, it will push the caliper piston back and loosen up the brakes and you can lift it right off. Also when separating ball joints (without a ball joint separator) I hit the area around where the ball joint shaft goes through, that helps to free it up. Also I would use a different hammer like a 32oz ball peen, easier to swing but still heavy enough to smack it good. But all the parts looked good 😉
You could chain the spring to the frame before removing it. So it won't launch across the room.. Great job. I love how persistent you are. What you are doing is not for the faint of heart. Strong woman!
If my mechanic looked like this I would own the most serviced car in the history of cars.
"there's a lot of banging in this video." 🤣😂🤣😂 I almost choked while I'm eating my carne asada burrito. Bang away Doris!! 👍🙌💪
Means a shit ton of work. You wow me Doris.
Yeah, it’s fun changing decades with cars. The tech changes make working on them, well, interesting.
You’re going to have one hell of a parts bill. Lots to replace.
Love your content, a stunningly gorgeous woman who works on cars, love it.❤
The main thing is you got it torn down and learned something new about old school cars good job 😊👍💯😎
Doris, there is a correct way to remove the front suspension. Without most of the risk you took. The Book, you know a Book. A paperback. Chilton’s car repair manual. Or Haines, Ford Mustang (v-8) ‘64 1/2 thur ‘73. Available at either Amazon or AutoZone. Thanks! This helped me so while repairing my ‘66 Mustang.
She is soooooooo beautiful ❤❤❤❤
I am so proud of you. Your such great example all the young (and old) people observing your work! I was a 13 year old dude the last time I saw this was procedure was my friend's dad doing his brakes on a 1966 Cornet. All the while drinking a case of Schliz beer. It must have deadend the pain because their were puddles of oil on the floor along with puddles of blood. I learned my share of colorfull epitaphs that day. Then my dad came over and helped him. What ever happened to the good old days when you could use a pair of channellocks to compress the springs?
I'm really liking the new vids of you working on the Mustang and Camaro. I look forward to them. Beautiful and smart with a good sense of humor and works on cars..#Theperfectwoman
How many w o men do you see try and do what Foris does on her cars ? Very few, she is very smart when come a to working on her cars, he studies before trying to do something. Got to give Doris a A for effort. Love watching her videos.
Working on an older car can be frustrating- just take some time and work through it. I love your enthusiasm Miss Doris
Once again I laughed from beginning to end. Your videos are great for showing what works and what doesn't it can save others a lot of time great job. : )
You’re a great Mechanic 🔧
Another way is support engine and drop whole subframe/suspension ❤
Great job loves to see a woman work on their car,
just a thought from experience, but I would try to avoid destroying or breaking as much as possible. When rebuilding there could always be a chance that something is reused. I was real lucky on my challenger to not have destroyed my front drum spindles as when i bought my wilwood drum to disc conversion kit, it repurposed my drum spindles and holy crap were those nearly impossible to find online. Ive also noticed that during my restoration process, stuff that i expected to buy new, i ended up repurposing from the original car. Of course some things you would never want to reuse but for everything else, theres always a chance.
But this is always fun to watch a teardown/restoration build. Brings back all the memories :D
Absolutely. Unless you have the new parts ready next to you - or a sure thing on a supplier.
In the case of 69 Mustangs, what you want are the beefier spindles with fine nut thread that the 69 Boss Mustangs got because they were late production models. All disc brake 70-73 Mustangs then got those same spindles so they became nothing special.
Awesome that your actually taking the time to do it all yourself
My day got brighter when I saw Doris say it's ALL COMING OFF. lol... love how you make your videos real life work... and the fact your Beautiful has NOTHING to do with it said nobody ever.... Have A Beautiful Arizona Day
Thanks so much. That is very kind of you.
Be carful with those spring
I was fearful for your knee caps when you missed with that first hammer swing😮😮😮
Your videos are really fantastic👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥇
Yeah guys she knows exactly what she's doing! Just shut up and watch 😂
You are very amazing at the work that you are doing a great job and i love what you are doing
I Like the " I Am The Warranty" t-shirt better 😅 . But... Lady You Know Your Stuff. Much more than i do😮
We clicked when we read you fully stripped your front end.
We will click when you fully strip the rear end too ;)
Rear end is next week lol
11:17 hit the knuckle holding the tapered piece the idea is to flex the steel casing for the tapered part
Pickle forks and air chisels!
Good job , you go girl 🎉
You are amazing woman and so very very Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the shirt.
Man, this looks so dangerous! Glad it worked out safely.
Good job!
hi nice job , a lot of fun doing this job , looking foward to the new parts going on wow ,,thanks ,good job
That bar is your strut used for caster alignment.
Yup. When I was ordering new parts I saw what it was called 😊
I have restored several 60' Era Mustangs & Cougars. The Cougars were always my favorite, so I know what you're going through. You look much better working on it then I ever did. Good luck 👍 ☘️💞
Go get em girl
Suspension is really hard, don't beat yourself up about it. This would also be a super ideal place for a sponsor to jump in, as there are a lot of k-members out there for this year mustang. And that will get you closer to modern tech, as well as allowing you to remove a notorious weak point to a lot of mustangs: the shock towers.
With ball joints if you hit the knuckle hard it would just come right out. You’re doing great. Keep up the good videos.
Put a smaller extension on the Milwaukee! GREAT VIDEO!
Good job Doris !!!
I don't know how you stay so clean but your videos are great.
Sub'd
Thank you for all your videos.
That was a lot of work. Keep safe.
You did a very good 👍 job Ms Doris love ❤️ you my friend 🏁🏁🏁🏁💯💯💯💯
Hi Doris, I enjoyed watching this video.
Thanks for watching!
Man i tell you she is such a fine looking Queen , i just love this women !
That hammer looks heavy!
To be honest keep up the good work. You are doing great but you should look up a few things just in case. But alot of what your doing is the same as everyone else. So keep up the fantastic work, dont let anyone get you down. If they have a problem maybe they should help by pointing you in the right direction with books to reference or other pages that can help. But in all keep it up. I love watching your videos and enjoying watching you grow in your passion for cars. Thank you
P.s. wear safety glasses rust in your eyes is no joke.
as you finally did. Nice project car
Nice job
Got same shirt but mine don't look good as youres does for some reason lol
Good going Dori ❤👍
an idea for next time when you are disassembling the suspension on an old or new car/truck is you are able to take it off as one unit then disassemble further once of the vehicle
I totally read the thumbnail wrong 😂😂😂
I think the wording was deliberate 😅
Ford girls....💙💙💙
Absolutely incredible pictures
I read the damn title wrong 😂😊
Good Work Girl 👍😊
Madre Mia que hiciste!😮
Nice your a pretty mechanic 👍
Wow nice enjoy work 😊😊
Thank you!
You should always wear safety glasses. It's the small jobs that get you, not the big ones.
What suspension are you upgrading to?
you are going about that the hard way 6:42 hit the part holding it sideways and it will pop right out try it ok
Not certain, but at sometime the front disc brakes was installed later, they didn't come from factory, the disc
brakes didn't come on cars until some time in early 70's, it should have had drum brakes. Love the shirt!
65 up Mustangs had front discs optional, but with master cylinders that were single pot until 67.
Rear discs were a dealer item featured in the 69 Boss 302 Chassis Mod book. They didn't have a provision for the parking brake though. Not a big deal since Bosses were all stick cars that you'd just have in gear when parked anyway.
Saludos.desde.houston.texas.vendisiones❤❤❤
Nice work
Doris is beautiful
You need a tool cart and some magnetic trays for the hardware, instead of throwing it all in the floor.
How you get tech shots after you work round the rust
Very hard work
Good morning doris❤
Guau que belleza, llevaría siempre mi vehículo a su mantenimiento 🙏🌹🙏
Two Nuts Down Here at 8:26. 🤣 🤣 🤣

How do you make the subscribe image in the lower right hand corner a link?
Doris, you rock! ❤ Peace
Hopefully u fixed it soon...💪✌️....
Hey sweetheart , use a air chisel ould be the perfect tool to remove those frontend steering parts and a spring compresser.
Yup. I ended up getting a nice air hammer for the very annoying spot welds when removing my floor panel. That could have came in handy quite well!
Men of culture we meet again….our love for cars unites us
Doris is 🔥
Look up 1969 Mustang Haynes manual
Great video, Doris. The rod that you were referring to is called a tension rod. Make sure to replace the bushings, when you put it back together. And yes, there is a specific spring compressor for that Mustang front suspension. It mounts up through the middle of the spring, with a compression bolt that sticks out of the shock tower. Looking forward to seeing what you're doing next.
Hi Doris the rod is call radius rod
I guess Ford calls that piece a radius rod, while my Nissan factory repair manual calls it a tension rod. Both serve the same function. And they both need new bushings! I replaced mine with urethane.
Why replace parts that aren't necessary to replace🤔? A lot of stuff can be cleaned and reused.
Hermosa
turning wrenches since 1978
Oman, dope and seriously got her name on,utube
Bang it some more
Its called a strut rod.
Bom trabalho
This looks hard, which is ironic, cause so am I...
Doris u always get r done well maybe not there is the Camry lol
dry ice the undercarrige it will remove the rust
Already did that 😊. It should just how bad the floorboards were
@@woman.driven A laser rust remover works awesome too, but they're megabucks so a company providing the service isn't cheap due to the equipment cost they have to recover on top of the worker's wage
So By Next Spring That 69 Mustang Nortchback Well Be Full Restoration Thanks In Good Hand's Of Doris
