- I Spent the day lure fishing from the rocks with the Razorclaw silver minnow.
It was a bit of a quiet day with only a few fish taking the lure but it was still an enjoyable day to be out fishing from the rocks on the stunning North East Coast.

Yes mate its just past Marsden but before frenchmans Bay.
Is it easy to access
Theres a bit of a walk down a small hill and a bit of a climb over some rocks.
When you on the pier gary just heard some mackerel been caught off whitburn leadges
Should be heading out early morning sometime with in the next few days been out fishing from the rocks on the leas last couple of days but no mackerel from there yet.
Went on the pier this morning nothing so might still be to early
Thanks for letting me know, they seem to be quite late this year.
No problem as a rule i dont go for the mackerel until you start getting them but this year i needed to go out early to test my baitcaster reel that i got last year and had a problem with it .when you have a multiplier you have a little cap the line tention yeah and you normaly have metal plate and bit of nylon nope not in this one so i had no control over spool hence big eagles nest followed by snag spinner lost to the sea .bugger fixed now metal plate coke can nyon knicked a bit of wor lass green pad lol
Lol cant beat a bit of mend and make do.... my brother has just got a bait caster reel do you have braid or mono on yours? I wasn't sure which would be best for it.
Yet another awesome vid bud, Gary, was the tide coming or going at the time of your visit. I know the area well grew and climbed around there.
Thanks again and keep them coming.
Kind regards
Keith.
Thanks kieth, the tide was coming in.
Where exactly along coastline was this? I live in Shields and looking for some decent spinning spots.
It's between frenchmans bay and Marsden beach
When you going off the pier ?
Will be trying a few tides off the pier this week.
Andys report says thier in 20 fish per person isn't stange i was only on thier last week and no sign of them
Hopefully there's some about this week.
Hi Richard, tried the first part of the pier this morning nothing showing. Spoke to the port of tyne worker who was heading up the pier in his van he says the pier is going to be shut through the day while they are carrying out maintenance work for the next 4 - 6 weeks.
Any mackerel about yet gary
What fish can you catch mackerel spinner except from mackerel
You can catch; Pollock, cole fish, sometimes wrasse and cod.
@@fishingintheukgarywood ok thanks
Isn’t Frenchman’s bay in Wales ?
This ones in south shields.
@@fishingintheukgarywood no worries, excellent video by the way I’ve just subscribed.
Hi Mate,is mackerel there yet? We want to go to fishing on the South Shields pier? We are 2.5hr drive from there. Will appreciate your help and advice
Hi mate, there hasn't been any showing yet and the pier is closed through the day for the next few weeks for maintenance work.
I really appreciated your reply. Keep post good videos. You are my favourite UA-camr😃
What set was the setup
no sign of any mackerel yet?
Think there has been a few caught off the piers but haven't had any off the rocks so far.
@@fishingintheukgarywood mate had a few just off south shields on wed on the boat so they must be on the way in
Excellent wont be long now then.
Another good vid mate. Do you know if there is any sign of Mackerel yet ?
Thanks mate, been out a couple of times no mackerel showing yet.
Sorry Gary what time of the tide did you start bud? Cheers bud.
Was about 3 hours before high tide mate.
When doing this do you let the lure hit the bottom, and how do you retrive? Fast or slow?
If the bottom is sandy then I let the lure hit the bottom if its snaggy I usually count the lure down to get it close to the bottom but not on the bottom. I usually mix the retrieve up sometimes fast sometimes slow.
Love fishing there but keep getting snagged and loosing so much gear
I went here and got nothing
