Thanks john. This was just before the mackerel came in it usually gets quiet on the pier after last light.
always enjoy your vids, But just wondering do you use any crab legs as bait or is it peeler crab.
Just peeler crab legs mate.
You should come up Northumberland one time and make a video. Some great fish about beadnell and craster.
Hopefully I'll get some time to do that soon.

What rod and reel combo are you using mate? I’m looking to get my first multi set up for sea fishing. Currently using fixed spools and conti rods. Want something for 5oz and bait next
I'm using the pro am it's made by local tackle shop reelsport and the reel is an old saltist 30h
Gary , can you try a spot of drone fishing of the beech or the rocks ? Just to send a bait as far as possible and see if there’s any difference in size of fish ?
I don't have a fishing drone otherwise i would try it.
Please purchase one. This is something I’d like to see in the north east and see what results are. It would be amazing content

Thanks Joe. It can be a bit snaggy here close in and you have to watch out for the lobster pot ropes but it's usually not to bad for tackle loss.

Thanks mate. Theres usually plenty of spaces for parking there.
Free parking behind the bait shop about quarter of a mile from the end of the pier. Pier itself has lots of paid for parking. Which isnt that expensive

Hi mate, yes they are fully in now as long as the weather stays good there will be plenty about theres also alot of herring getting caught from the end if the pier.

I fish using size 1/0 hooks but although I get a lot of action on my rigs, I don't hook any fish. Are size 1/0 hooks too large and if so, which hook size would you recommend?
Try using size 1 hooks sounds like there are small fish pecking at your bait. You'll have more chance of hooking them with slightly smaller hooks.
@@fishingintheukgarywood to compensate for their small mouths, I use a custom-made snagging rig to snatch them up as they peck at a piece of bread dough on the centre just above the hooks. I foul-hooked LOADS of ornate wrasse in the Canary Islands this way.
Otherwise, I am targeting fish large enough for legal consumption (flatfish, cod types, small sharks etc.). Would you recommend that I step my hook sizes down for them too?

Its a bit slippery but not to bad.

Its a pro am rod from reelsport.

I'm not sure if it will be open or closed it just depends on the weather and the sea.
